Camera module is moving if I shake the phone? - ASUS ZenFone 7 / 7 Pro Questions & Answers

Okay so before you say "why would you shake your phone", I don't. When I use the phone for a while, like for daily stuff, I lift it up to my ear and I hear the camera module is being loose. Is this normal? If I shake the phone at this point, it's clear the module is loose. Like if I just swiftly move my arm while phone is in the hand, the camera just flips out and retracts.
Is this normal?
Maybe it is... then it's fine. Just curious really.
Thanks!

If I shake it vigorously it comes out a bit, like not even the thickness of the module. Normal lifting I hear nothing. If i do hand chopping motions I can hear very faint clicks.

Thanks for the reply!
Hmm my module is definitely way more "loose" than that. If I do like a firm movement then stop suddenly, the module lifts out quite a bit. MAYBE it's normal that each phone has a different movement? Honestly, I only paid attention to this because when I lift it up to my ears or something, I hear it is a bit lose.
Which case are you using? The ASUS one with the camera block thing seem to fix my issue but that case is SO slippery, it feels worse than the normal phone. I would consider myself not clumsy but unlucky, so risking that case is ehhh.

I don't think it's normal that each phone is different to that extent though.
I'm using the included clear case and it sux. Slippery and prone to scratches. I was intending to switch to the included black one but yeah it is slippery too. Apparently the RhinoShields are good but it makes the phone a brick.

Keyboard spring noise

I know this has been discussed before but how many people can hear a noise which sounds like a spring when they open the keyboard. Feels very flimsy and nowhere near as solid as the tytn.
I hear it too; I thought it was just me. I had the Hermes before this, and I wouldn't characterize the slider as solid though
I hear it, but it feels pretty solid to me.
I hear it too, I don't like it one bit. Feels pretty solid though
a spring noise
I have no such thing as a spring noise when opening my keybord...
so my awnser to the poll: NO

Dont think its a spring, but a slider that protects the ribbon cable. when the device is open
Having listened again its more of a rattle and it rattles when the keyboard is open if you move the device about.
Hi All,
I maybe had the same thing.
If u flip your keyboard and turn your TP around u can see a little panel. This seem to be protecting something. This panel can go up and down and does so when you flip your kboard. In this panel is a spring
On My first TP (i switched mine becos of this fault) the panel jumped open, which sounded like a spring.
I ttink this is the problem.
I returned to the store and switched mine, np since.
Hope this helps
Mine is brand new today so do you think I should send it back? From the poll, seems about 50/50 people have the problem.
Edit...
It has all become clear, I can see the little plastic cover that is loose making the noise. Dont know if its suposed to be loose or not though
It's supposed to be loose, it moves while u flip your keyboard.
What happened with my old one (just after tweo days) that when i flipped my kboard, the plastic cover moves to far and opens for a brief second, hence the sound. I still have the sound but it's way softer cos tha plastic cover dont move that much.
Hope this helps, if u worry, return it, way to expensive !

Screen (Slider) Way Too Loose [SOLVED]

My fuze screen has became way to loose in the closed position. To provide a better example its like its got a hinge and wants to flip open rather then slide open. There is way too much up/down movement that way. Its so loose that when it vibrates the screen will vibrate on the casing and it makes or horrible rattle sound that makes me cringe every time I hear it. I have to hold the phone tight in my hand to stop the rattle. The weight of the screen will actually cause it to partly open by just flipping the phone over and holding the back.
Aside from duct tape, any good ways to fix this or tighten the mechanism that holds it position?
I have a similar problem but not as severe. Mine is just a smidge loose and when I press down on the side of the screen it slides a few millimeters and it's really annoying when I hold the phone. Any help fixing would be appreciated.
yea same here, it's not annoying but I don't trust it

When I originally mentioned duct tape, I was being sarcastic. Ironically, however, this is my fix to this problem.
I used the Gorilla Tape brand, because that's what I had. All I did was put three pieces of black gorilla tape on the back of the slider. This tightened it up, and stopped my annoying rattle. Pretty simple and easy fix.
Also, it made the snap feel when it slides out much more firm, and I really enjoy the feel of it much more now.

Creaking noise

I recently got a Note 10.1 for me and one for my gf. After a few days I was getting extremely bothered by what I can only explain as creaking sounds when holding the tablet. By creaking I mean like a haunted house, very similar to the plastic sounds of when you grab a keyboard from only one side. My GF's makes zero sounds.
I couldnt take it, so I switched it but this one still makes the sounds. Definitely not as bad but still.
Does any of your tablets make these sounds?
Nope .
jje
No, if you can exchange it for another
.
Have 2, no sounds, bought 1 for my brother and a friend, both as quite a church mice....
i get it on my tablet but i'm not bothered by it so much.
I got a case coming in this weekend, hopefully this will make the noises less noticeable. I'm not sure I want to go through the hassle of exchanging again it but if the noise is not reduced with the case I may do so again.
It just feels like cheap plastic, it's maddening that its such an amazing device yet it has such a crappy outer shell.

Not a fake is it ???

Yup, they are originals bought from Wal Mart. I fixed it by chance. I opened it up, which is fairly easy and noticed that the noise came from the hinges of the back plastic grinding against the slots were they fit in.
I tried fixing it by safely applying double sided tape at different places, after trying different spots the noise started to get worse, so I decided it was time to go to bed and I reassembled the tablet. To my surprise when everything was back in place, the unit felt as solid or even more than my GFs and I could not make it sound regardless of the pressure I applied.
My conclusion is that somehow I worked the hinges of the back plate in a way that it stopped making sounds once I removed the double sided tape.
One thing I'm sure of is that the noise is indeed coming from the backplate hinges.

Sound when you unfold the phone.

Hi Guys, maybe this is a stupid and weird question, but I was wondering when you open ( unfold ) the phone, and you are in super quiet room, do you hear scratching sound coming out of the phone? Or is the opening very quiet without any noise at all? Is that sound that I hear the brushes cleaning the hinge? I just noticed this sound and I am not sure if it was there since the beginning. Unfortunately, I was in really dusty place and had my phone in my jeans front pocket and I am paranoid that maybe some of that dust got inside.
Thank you for your answers.

It's actually pretty quiet. If you put your ear up to it, you can hear the bristles/hinge, but it really is not a noticeable sounds.
Mine too so far has been quiet. I have also applied a transparent matte skin on my hinge so far no issues. I am using the spigen slim armor pro case which protects the hinge. still, once in a week or so I clean my hinge but I haven't yet used it in any dusty environment.
Mine does this at times, I've also noticed its worse if I have left it open or closed for a while. If you open and close it a few times its not as noticeable. I assumed thus was just the hinge brushes doing their thing.

This is exactly what mine does. Some people have speculated that it's the preinstalled screen protector that makes the sound. I think they said the sound went away after removing it, but mine is staying on. I have got used to the sound.

Question Loose bezel - normal, or need (another) replacement watch?

So I bought this watch a few weeks ago originally, and when it turned up I noticed the bezel seemed to be loose -
I sent it back to samsung for a replacement, after hearing from a few other owners that their bezels were rock solid, though several people did say they got loose ones too and did their own returns.
Got it replaced, and the new one is -
Basically the same? So... now I'm wondering if this is normal, and some people just don't even see it on theirs, or if I've just been unlucky?
I've had people tell me both sides so no idea who to believe at this point. Figured I'd try here this time instead of reddit!
It snaps on/off?
You could carefully add some teflon tape to dampen it if that is your goal.
That's disconcerting but maybe deliberate. Dirt can get in easier too.
no it just wobbles. and if you tap it you can hear a little tapping sound as it rocks. but it doesnt come off.
Or are you saying these are designed to snap of?

Not sure. It was a thought.
For that kind of money, it should be tight all way around. So I can understand your apprehension.
I'd return it if not satisfied...

If they are like previous Samsung rotating bezels (and I suspect they are), they are designed to snap off. Underneath there are springs, ball bearings, and a gasket ring. Seems every iteration of the watch with a rotating bezel has reports like this - I wonder if it's because a spring is missing, or something like that. Or, it could be perfectly normal. See this video for the Galaxy Watch:

Do you own one? Does yours wobble like mine? If non-wobbly versions definitely exist then I'll just keep replacing until I get a good one!

I do, and while it is difficult to gauge from looking at the video, I can't discern any significant wobble in mine. For example, if I place my thumbs at 3 and 9 o'clock, and try to rock the bezel, it does not move. Feels tight all round - although I will say the action when turning it is a bit 'clunkier' to me than my Gear S3 (which actually does have a bit of play in the bezel).
Sorry for the old thread, but where did you get your replacement bezel from? I only find whole bodies, costing arround 40-50$. My isnt turning that smooth on some "angles". Cleaning didn't help either.
