I have the F916U1 and I have not been able to find someone to unlock it. I tried old links and of course Google led me to a few companies which replied that they can't do it. However, there have been people on this forum with US variants that have said they got it working.
Any leads would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the lead, looks very promising!

Please help us get root, whether you own a Backflip or are a Dev/Hacker, or both. There are quite a few people out there that are trying to obtain Root for the Backflip and we appreciate everything you are doing, we're just looking for more help in achieving this. We all want Root for this device.
I have this posted up on several sites, so I've created one web page to keep everything update in one place for all the sites. If you are interested, feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Any and all help is appreciated. You can find the current status, total, and my contact information here: scorchgaming.com/bfrootdonate.htm (Can't post links yet.).
(I know I'm a new user, I just registered, but have been viewing the site for a while now. I have plenty of other online forum experience a long with tons of online business. For any one looking for vouches, I can provide them.)
Bump. Totals for today have been posted on the Bounty Page.
Please support this device!

There's gotta be some backflip lovers around these seas Lets see what happens with tihs
I don't see too many people sending you money without the root being done first... wouldn't be too smart. I do not believe you are trying to take peoples money and I appreciate what your doing to try and get the backflip rooted as I am waiting for it also, but sending someone money online in HOPES that someone will do something? No thanks. Maybe pledge the money and send it after it has been completed.
Maybe, but while I haven't gotten much interest over here, I have gotten over $200 in pledges from other sites. If you don't feel confortable, that's fine, make a pledge, if you do, great.
This has been done before though for the SE X10 specifically. With pretty good support for it. One thread says $890, the other says $1650.

I've gotten over $200 in pledges in a little over a week, so if the pace keeps up, which hopefully it will, we'll have a decent amount to draw interest to the phone.
Update: I have received almost $500 in donations and pledges in two weeks.
I'm sure there's plenty of others out there that haven't heard about this yet. Please help spread the word. I hope some developers are seeing this also. Without you guys, this doesn't get us any where.
Wow. Looks like the total is up to almost $550. Hopefully we'll get some dev attention for this.
Bump for some more interest!
Trying to help spread the word about the bounty. Started tweeting it out, but only have 1 follower, so... we need more people to get involved in letting devs know about this.
I've been using #backflipbounty in my tweets along with http://bit.ly/c06W3c

PS. I'm @Dbagjones on Twitter
Need a tester willing to put in a some time.
I can get root on the backflip, I'll need someone with a backflip who is willing to teamviewer me into a console so I can verify my method will work.
Contact me and we can set up a time later today if that works for you.
I'm going to take a few hours and familiarize myself with moto's goofy rom packaging scheme and the like before I dive into a phone. I'll pm you sometime this week.
I'd also be willing to help out (have Backflip, ADB, etc. but no clue hacking Android). PM me here, tweet me @Dbagjones or SMS 772.226.0185 <-- Google Voice is the bomb!
bump for greatness

I need someone who is willing to give me remote adb access to the hardware so I can try out the idea's I have on rooting the backflip. It shouldn't take more than an hour for me to know whether my ideas will work or not.
Tried my ideas, nothing worked. Sorry guys!
Let me first start by saying. I'm sure alot of people will find this annoying but after searching countless forums on various sites all across the web I can't find a definitive answer. Has the Verizon Wireless SCH-I535 4.4.2 I535OYUDNE1 3.4.0 Kernal Bootloader been unlocked? Most posts I see are several months old and some people say no one cares and there will never be an unlock, others claim it's in the works, some claim it has been done but I can't find a link or posting stating without a doubt it has been done and how to do it. So my question to recap is ( Has the locked bootloader successfully been unlocked? If so where can I find the instructions on how to do so?) I did successfully manage to root and grant SuperSU but then wound up getting the ! Yellow triangle of death and had to re-flash stock. I have a great deal of stupidity when it comes to newer tech but have thus far enjoyed tinkering and feeling around in the dark to learn. After all "Discovery requires experimentation." Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out. Or just give me a straight and certain answer.

Straight and simple answer - no, it has not been unlocked and likely never will be unlocked.
Balls! That sucks. Damn Verizon. Should've guessed as much. What did I expect? So many people praise them but I get ******* service everywhere I go. And I live in a major US city. Thanks for your reply though. I'll stop holding my breath. I do have one last question. I've seen posts of people flashing CM11-12 on the SCH-I535 does that include the Verizon 4.4.2 or not? I assume it doesn't but in the off chance it does would you provide a link to the relevant manual? Thanks again.

If they are on CM there bootloaders are unlocked. And no that does not include those who took the OTA to 4.4.2

So, I finally laid down the fat stack for an S7, and I went with Straight Talk because I'm not big on contracts. I was itching to throw a rom on it right away, but it looks like there is only one that may be compatible. I'd settle for root though and went about my research. Eventually, I settled on trying to follow this thread, as it seems to apply to pretty much any variant.
Now, my question is, if I were to follow this method and successfully obtain root, I know my phone will show up as a G930V, but will I still be able to use my Straight Talk service on it? Also, any other information pertaining to my situation would be much appreciated, in terms of root and any roms. I know most people say it's overrated nowadays, and mostly unnecessary, but I want to tinker and I like having complete freedom over my device.
Sorry if this has been posted before, but after many hours, I'm still a bit lost in the web of information. Two variants, and multiple carriers, two different boards, MM/Nougat, etc, etc. I'd just like a bit of clarification, thanks a ton!
EDIT
It would seem this thread is what I need to follow to obtain root. I'm still open to any thoughts or suggestions, but I guess my main question is will my Straight Talk account still work if I use this method?
Or would I be better off following this tutorial?
Thanks again!
Nothing huh, nobody knows, or even has an idea?
Hmm.

Yes, sometimes there is a paucity of folks knowing, and then being willing to respond. Hope you got it figured out.
I'm a noob at programming and I want someone to make an exploit to root SM-G950U on Oreo. I got this phone on ebay and it was on Oreo when I got it and I can't downgrade. Please, I had a rooted SM-J327P and it was cool but this phone has way better specs. I didn't get to do some things on that phone because it got stuck in a boot loop and I couldn't fix it. My software version is G950USQS3CRE2. I know it will be difficult but I was told that it's impossible to stop a hacker by a family member who is good at programming. I can't take people being defeatist saying "It's impossible." If my dad who's good at programming says it's possible, then it's possible.
No one replying
Why has no one replied yet? Is it because people just started working on the exploit when they saw my post so it's not finished yet or are people just ignoring me? I hope it's the first one because I don't like to be ignored. I might be able to give suggestions as to what the exploit could look like. Here's one. We could try to bypass the fuse checks like with hekate on the Nintendo switch.
Respectfully, search the forums. There is as of yet no way to root Oreo but the devs are working on it. And please have a bit more respect for those who spend countless hours working on it who'll make it available to you FOR FREE. Do what I did and make a donation out of your appreciation. Perhaps if they charged for root methods, you would have a bit of a different tone.

The root method was patched there is no root past rev 2 bootloader and more than likely wont be. If you want root get a root friendly device.
I've tried looking around online and whatnot and have asked many people (even going as far as to email Samsung's team in hopes they might help out somehow) but I always end up back at square one. I genuinely doubt that it's impossible, but I don't know where else to go or what else to do. Does anybody know of a device with a similar situation that I might be able to work a method off of? Perhaps another Samsung device previously thought of to be "impossible to unlock" that I may learn something from? I'd really love to be able to unlock and root and flash this device, as its hardware is quite nice and fast: it's just unfortunate that it gets stuck with OneUI (I know everyone has different opinions on the matter, but I just really don't like Samsung's OS, personally).
Any help or guidance or advice - no matter how small - will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
you are not having the able to unlock the locked phone that has locked bootloader because they don't wnat you to unlock your phone

Realme RMX2155 was previously thought to be not unlockable for awhile but somebody ended up cracking it via editing firmware files via hexeditor and some other stuff. Eventually, somebody found an even easier exploit. It's not quite the same as the A53, which is why I'm asking if anybody has any ideas. Tons of unofficial methods exist for different models - some easier and some more difficult. If everybody thought that an official method had to be the only way, I'm near-certain XDA forums would be mostly dead with only a few device-forums active.
I've asked on here previously about unlocking the bootloader for my A536U, but it really went to dead ends. The best asset to cracking these devices is time. Just be patient, someone may find an exploit soon.
Although, finding an exploit has been done for phones, I read years ago that someone who did that for one only got it by chance. Its not easy.
Anyone however can sell it or trade it in and buy a device that's unlockable. Much easier.
