Hi, I am tired of having small Galaxy S9 with bad battery life so I was thinking about picking up Poco F2 Pro. There is nice discount at my place so I am seriously considering it.
But I have been reading on forum about bugs, issues and poor battery performance due to MIUI 12 which led me to be indeceisive about the phone.
I am no stranger to rooting and custom roms, so I would also know how strong is modding community with this phone.
Do you think this phone is considered an upgrade over Galaxy S9?

Worth big time....battery will last you twice as much...no need to mod...just start flying and enjoy...
Definitely a huge upgrade over S9. Miui kinda bogs the phone down a bit in my opinion. Flash either of the many custom roms to benefit the most. 2 day battery and excellent performance is a win win at it's price point.

Hi huys!
Long time since i last was here!
I currently own an iphone 6 and since i am bored out of my mind with it i want to go back to the android side..
Main hripes with iphone 6..
-horrific battery life
-low wifi signals
-mediocore camera
I was considering gs6, but i wanted to ask how is battery life for you guys since i hear they dropped mah from gs5..will it be better or worse than my iphone 6?depending on that i might shoot for note 4, since note 5 wont be coming to europe, sadly.
The second question is, will i be able to keep my itunes library and keep buying from itunes somehow from within the gs6?(some app or so?)
Thank youuu!

as for your second question, you can transfer up to 100000 songs from ios to Android. so you should have no problem there. Your first question is harder to answer. As far as battery life goes, my s6 edge gets up to five days of battery life. however, most of what I have read online from other users is it's battery is no better and no worse than the galaxy s5. I would still recommend it over any other phone on the market.

Unless you use battery saving tricks and follow the battery saving guides, you'll not have a good battery life. But xda has everything for you to get good battery life!
Q2. I don't use iTunes. idk!
Granted, gs6 battery life is not great, would you say it is better than that of the iphone 6? Really the only reason i haven't already made the move..still considering galaxy note 4 over gs6 just for the battery!
Battery wise, iphone 6 or gs6? battle of the six's

Stock GS6? Nah, rather iP6.
Rooted GS6 with Greenify and amplify? Yep, now we're talking.

amplify requires xposed. xposed is incompatible with the variant I own
No i always go with stock..plus, to my understanding, tripping knox is permanent, so that is a big no-no
Well, then you will not be pleased with the stock overall performance of the GS6, if you switching from the iP6. At least the expereience for me was bad and I switched from the Oneplus One. Poor battery (somewhat OK on WiFi), not smooth UI and lags when a few apps open. However this was on the BOG 5.1.1 firmware. It felt like a completely new phone when I gave up on knox and flashed a custom ROM and kernel. And everybody said the same here on the forums.
Looks like i will be going for the note 4 then..i really wish we could get the note 5 in europe..
I wouldn't even consider Samsung for use as a stock device. TouchWiz is ridiculous. Samsung has all kinds of bloat apps for things Google incorporates into android naturally. Updates are so slow and stock battery experience is never great. That's not to say there aren't any good features but if you're coming from an iPhone, I would wait for the next gen of phones or get the one plus 2, or go with Sony for the beautiful cameras.
You greatly overestimate the iphones..they seem stable but its only because they do so very verry little.they are just as full of bugs and crashes as the next thing..itune syncs/restores/updates are a regular russian roulette.you dont do updates unless you are a daredevil-they usually break more than they fix and most of them rape battery life.i had no gripe at all with my last android (gs2) which was on full stock besides bad batt..and i had that for 2 years..as to your remark, sony phones are good but have washed out screens..i am almost set on galaxy note 4..
I'll try not make this a long drawn out post. I'm not even sure this is the correct forum but feel free to move if you feel a different one will be more helpful. I'm basically looking for the phone with the largest battery or best battery life that also actually is able to run cyanogenmod or I'd really prefer vanilla android.
I currently have an s6 and i hate it mostly the battery life cause it sucks. but it also has very limited development because of the exynos processor and knox. my lease is up in April and plan to leave sprint to go back to att or mvno that uses their towers.
I really like the s6 active because of the bigger battery, but its still an exynos processor and also has knox so ill run into the same problem. i don't mind touchwiz but i just feel it lags the phone very badly even debloated on my current s6. i was also thinking maybe a blu studio energy 2 but i cant seem to find any roms for it. i did find a root thread on it so that's at least a start. how are the mediatek processor compared to a snapdragon of similar speed? im not a power user by any means but i like hill climb racing and my nephew likes goat simulator. how would they act on a mediatek? ive also heard about the oukitel k10000 but that thing is huge and doubt there will be any development for it.
So i guess I'm looking for suggestions of what you guys recommend for my wants. thanks guys. love this place and i would be lost with out it.
If brand is no issue for you then go for Gionee Marathon series I am using Gionee M3 with 5000 mah battery and great development, we have got multiple custom roms including CM12.1, AOSP, MIUI 7 and various other ports.
Thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately I live in the US and according to gsm arena it only supports 900 and 1200 3g which neither will work with ATT. I was looking around and also noticed the Xiaomi Redmi 3 has very good battery life with a 4000mah battery. Has anyone got one yet? Its atleast got a snapdragon so i feel support should come in time. But please keep the suggestions coming!
I had the best battery life I've ever had with the Moto X Play, if my 6P didn't have fast charging I'd definitely miss it. But seriously, I'd consider it.
I think these are the best phone with great battery support.
Motorola Moto X Play
Samsung Galaxy Note 5
LG Volt
Samsung Galaxy S6 Active
Hi there,
There are threads already established that are devoted to discussions about devices, please read, and if necessary, repost your question in one of these threads: The what should I buy thread or the The Device Suggestion Thread or the The Device Comparison Thread.
There are also several other discussion threads that you probably should review to help you. They are What phone do you wish you had? or
The Worst Android Device That You've Ever Had & Why or even this place that talks about The best phone you ever owned.
I will have to close this one. Thanks for understanding.
Hi,
I don't have a job right now and don't know when gonna get.
So, I'm under-budget right now, have around $230 in pocket right now. I've done watching many reviews and comparison.
So far I've considered four phones as per my requirement. LeEco Le 2 , Moto G4 plus, Redmi Note 3 and Mi Max.
As much I concerned about the camera+performance, concerned about Branding too!
my last smart device was Galaxy Y duos three years. Since then, I was sick about the smartphone(as they evolve so fast, forgetting the past ones). Thus I'm noob about the daily performance experience on this new gen phones.
I need to choose a good phone with day to day performance with long-term support form the company (as most of them stop getting updates after a year or so)
I don't want sit around with same UI/ Android version while others enjoying new versions. I felt that after a year of buying Galaxy Y. It felt so irritating that I hated that phone so much.
Company support important to me because I'm not rich fella and can't afford new phone before 3-4 years, so I've to live with that.
As per the reviews/current updates,
Le 2 currently on EUI 5.8 and even users don't know if next update gonna release or not ( keeping myself far as possible, but design and performance pulling me in)
G4 plus currently on Android M and officials not declaring any notice on next N update (truly impressed by the camera+mediocre performance , but almost at end of life)
RN3=True performance, but RN4 already on the way. Can it(RN3) still keep up with next-gen?
Mi Max also on miUI 8, but too much big as primary device. Also everything same as RN3 except the display size. I should keep it out list.
There's few other devices which compete with these, but I didn't consider them because of some noticeable cons. So that's all from me.
Please help me choose between these devices.
Also, If anyone has any suggestion or review on another device (upto $230) please give a response. Future support really matters to me so keep that in mind.
Thank you.
I saw our bigger brother RN4 got unofficial LOS 15 android 8.0.
So i thought , lets talk about our experience although we are small community with few roms.
I will start: I love my Redmi because of battery life, because the way it fits in my hands. its quick enough for its price. i recently fleshed LOS 14.1.
i remember its a good rom from my previous phone. I hope we will follow our big brother with Oreo too.:good:
I also love you guys. there is so much action here we try to get razielle , we translate 4PDA, we work together to find stuff! We are awesome!
Share you thoughts and experience guys
To be honest , I'm kinda thinking changing my phone for a Redmi Note 4X.
Don't get me wrong , the device in itself is really good but the lack of a good community of developers kinda bugs me.
But the device is good, the battery life is good, the camera is decent, the screen is good, etc..
For that price point , you really can't ask for much more.

Agreed. I like its size, otherwise I would buy other one
The things that made me choose this phone were its compact size, efficient sd625 and fhd screen. So, I don't have much really to complain.
Yes I thought it would get Nougat officially, and this just the one disappointment so far. I did switched to custom Nougat roms, but eventually got back to miui, as it grew a soft corner days before I bought this device.
For camera, I didn't prioritized it before purchasing, as I already knew it's pretty decent, and found it on par. Though I do feel 32s exposure support on default camera app would cover up all my complains. Tried this with Camera FV5 though, not any satisfactory result yet.
Ok, that's all. I do love my r4p despite of lack-ish dev support. Glad to be along with you.
Coming from mi4 (cancro), I'm so happy and satisfied with performance and battery life. The only reason that makes me sad is the lack of devs and cusrom. Previously, with cancro I already got AOSP Nougat ported in less than a month after Google's release. Even now, cancro already have ported Oreo rom since last few weeks
I've been thinking to switch to Mi5 which has more devs, but 3-5h SOT is sucks compared to our R4P

we tried to bring devs here, but it didnt work. maybe you know devs who willing to?
Im looking for a cheap high performance Xiaomi phone with a long update path (aka in Xiaomis eyes). Im looking for one with long battery life, a in-display fingerprint scanner, amazing performance for gaming and just navigating everyday tasks, preferably one with fast charging, OLED screen or better, 120Hz, and one with easy rooting like how Xiaomis have. I have my eyes on the MI 12 (people say it overheats), MI 12X and the MI 11. I want a phone that will last me a long time. Any recommendations? doesn't have to be a Xiaomi but if it has a easy rooting process like Xiaomi I might consider it.
I am using xiaomi 12 now for the past 3 days. My experiece has been absolutely perfect. Ive never had trouble with overheating, not even when i played some games and while charging. Phone becomes warm but it is waaaaaay much less than my iPhone used to have. I didnt do much research but for me on miui 13 and android 13 the experience with xiaomi 12 have beed perfect. Battery is literally undestructable and it charges in 20 - 30 minutes. Maybe the overheating was fixed in the updates i dont know. But for me and my experience with the device now, it is way better than my iphone was. Good luck!
first of all, the battery life of this phone with 5G is on is a joke, with wifi I get double SOT,
in my opinion don't buy mi12, this SoC is very bad and don't listen to other guy, all of them(mi12) overheat unless you live in North Pole
mi11 is better choice if you don't mind the size, 12x nice too maybe less future proof
mi11 has more roms too,
only plus for mi12 is the compact size,
to conclude, if you want a phone for many years don't buy mi12 for sure

It's your opinion and I respect it.
Wifi consumes more battery by downloading and streaming than data and comparing a phone that is two years old with a recent phone makes no sense.
well he asked for mi11, it's a nice phone imo, we should tell the truth about this phone though, battery life is not good and it is getting hot, also not big community so far and no roms, me personally I wouldn't buy again, coming from mi9, this was a big disappointment but everything is subjective, I hope this helps

That is to say that a cheap phone with high performance with an important autonomy and which lasts a long time, it does not exist.
