Phone gone crazy after battery replacement - General Topics

Hi!
I just replaced the battery on my Mi5 and I tried switching on the phone with the new battery before assembling it again, and since then (using both the old and new battery) the phone has just gone crazy. Touchscreen doesnt work, it vibrates erratically, flashlight turns on/off by itself...
I am desperate. I did not use any anti-static current protection so it might be that, I don't know. I have tried to connect/disconnect al flex connections, soft reset the phone, everything I can think of.
I need help please, thank you

hard Reset Troubleshooting

Hi,
I'm new to the forum so i hope someone might be able to shed some light on this problem.
I've had my Xda2 for over a year now and just lately it has been shutting it's self down with a full hard reset (i'm sure you can understand my frustration having to reload everything). I'm not sure if it is a hardware or software problem. when it is working it is showing a full battery. When it is off it wont always turn back on and if i plug it into the mains i only get a red light on the top and no other functions.
Is anyone aware of a bug! or what i can do to resolve the problem.
Thanks
your backup battery might be dead
maybe take it to o2 and they could check it for you ,while i ws upgrading i saw 1 of them check the battery of a phone ,maybe they can do the same for you
The power settings do indicate a full 100% backup battery but it's still worth having it checked out.
Thanks Andy-c1

New battery, phone doesn't boot

Hi all,
My Nexus 5's battery was draining extremely fast and a factory reset / clean rom flash didn't help. So I decided to get a new battery. After installing the battery I found out the phone didn't boot. I opened up the phone again to double check all connectors I touched were in place and I even reconnected them just to be sure. My phone still didn't turn on so I hooked it up with my *original* charger and USB-cable. All I see is the charging screen (battery with lightning icon) and a few seconds later my phone turns off, only to repeat this cycle. I'm able to boot into the bootloader, the phone stays on but immediately turns off when I pull the charger. When trying a normal boot I see the Google logo and a few seconds later the phone turns off and falls back in its charging-screen-cycle.
I looked up some troubleshooting on the Google site (https://support.google.com/nexus/troubleshooter/3337561?hl=en#ts=3337943) but that didn't fix my problem either. What should I do?
The battery I ordered is an original LG TL-B9 battery.
Thanks in advance!
Are you sure the battery isn't shot or some hardware on your device isn't working
Try re-installing the old battery so that you can identify whether it's a dud new battery or if the phone itself is dead. A real pain, I know, but best to eliminate the one changed component before wasting time looking for possibly non-existent problems in working hardware.
I reinstalled my old battery shortly after I created this thread, and my phone worked again. There was a small tear in the flat cable from the connector, so I got a new battery and that one works.
Excellent!

[Completed] LG G2 No power...Constantly Vibrating

Hey everyone 2 weeks ago I was using my lg g2 verizon model running android 5.0.1 lollipop and it felt from my bedside. Note this is not her first time the phone had fallen. I have a tpu case on it and it usually fears very well against occasional drops. That fateful night however the phone fell and when i picked it up it went blank and was switched off. I tried to power it on by pressing the power button but the phone just vibrated continuously on a second by second basis ( literally counting mississippis). I then tried to plug the phone into my wall outlet to force a boot but it just vibrated too.
Later that week i opened it up removed and reattached the battery cable and IT CAME ON!! Two short days after i rebooted the device for a new app but then it didnt power on. The same problem occured. I tried my fix again and after a couple of tries it finally worked. A week later and forgetting my phone problems i restarted ny phone again only to find out that the problem had returned. After trying my quick fix over and over again, nothing seemed to work so i decided to try troubleshooting the device myself. My results have left me baffled.
Ok so before you guys start shouting out solutions, heres what did and found ;
1) Tried a new battery and the phone still vibrated.
2) Unplugged the battery from the motherboard and plugged in my charger and the phone still vibrated. Lead me to believe that its not a battery problem.
3) Removed all un-neccessary components from the phone ( camera, screen, mic, antennas, etc...) the phone still vibrated.
4) Removed the power button module from the phone and it still vibrated when the charger was plugged in.
Note: I disconnected the vibrator behind then motherboard and held the phone to my ear while I plugged it in to my wall outlet. I could hear a faint clicking sound in a cycle.
Im completely lost sorry for the long thread but if anyone can offer some advice please help me i have no money to buy a new phone atm #life
Thank you in advance xD

Hi and thank you for using XDA Assist
Unfortunally for your phone this is indeed an hardware problem and i doubt it may be a software one...
If you didn't "worked" on the device from the software side i think the better way is to take it to an assistance shop or something like that in order to fix your vibration problem.
But for futher assistance i suggest you to ask overe here: Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

[Completed] Xperia Neo V weirdest problem ever ( wont turn on, but sometimes will?! )

Hello xda community ( first post )
So i own a sony Xperia neo V and i have a very weird problem. So I left it charge overnight and the morning i tried to turn it on but it wouldnt turn on. I tried a lot of things until 1 day later after removing sim and sd and pressing vol up+power it turned on. I backed up everything and tried to turn it off and again on but again it wouldnt!
O dissasemplied it and cleaned everything in case there is a short circuit. i unplugged and repluged everything i could inside it.
I left the battery out for 1 month.
I tried the battery on my xperia tipo and it was working fine.
I made a hard reset.
I made a topic on sony site they didnt help at all, they just said the obvious things.
Now I am trying this forum, my last hopes to make it work again. Right now i turned it on and it works fine! The power button works always in both press and long press. The screen and touch screen works fine. Everything works properly. No sim or SD inserted.
Help
Ask me whatever you want i will try to answer everything. Please dont tell things like remove battery and stuff i already tried these.
The weird part is that everything works fine! but still it wont turn on 99% of times. i tried to keep track of the things i did to find a pattern of things but it turns on totaly randomly. There is no procedure that has more success than just pressing the power button and hoping to turn on.
Additional info: It has suffered water damage some times in the past and many falls from about 1 meter. It always worked after leaving it on the sun for a day or two without the battery and turning it on. I found no rust or corrosion signs when i dissasemplied.
Thanks!
EDIT: I found out that if i change the pressure i apply on the battery connectors the device has a higher chance to turn on!

several things might have gone wrong, one of which is that the new battery shorted the mobile,
are you sure it is an original replacement?
also while opening you might have damaged one of the flex connector bases, check them thoroughly
se if the flex connectores are snug fit - disconnect and reconnet them properly
check the new battery voltage using a multimeter, see if the voltage is proper
try to find a short using a multimeter
AccA
. nthe thing for u.. if you are root, and need to control the battery voltage and mah
