My AT&T Note 20 Ultra just installed the 3.0 Android 11 firmware, did anyone else get it?

No I don't get it yet
[Update: T-Mobile and Sprint too] Stable Android 11/One UI 3.0 is now live for Samsung Galaxy Note 20 [AT&T]
[UPDATE: DECEMBER 18, 2020] After AT&T, other carriers in the US, T-Mobile, and Sprint has started rolling out Android 11 based One UI 3.0 for Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra phones in the US. This firmware can be identified via build versions: N981USQU1CTL2 and N986USQU1CTL2 for the...

I manually checked and got it about 4hrs ago...
Just randomly checked mine today and it got 11 and 3.0, thought we were going to have to wait until January for this one.
Based on reporting over at Sammobile, only AT&T Note 20 models have received it so far. Which is a real shocker considering how slow AT&T has been with security updates.
Just checked note 20 ultra ........got it! Dowlowding now. Att early for once! Now just give me 5G on my legacy unlimited plan.
The big question is how's it running?
Brave souls... I keep AT&T updates disabled on my 10+.
If you keep that phone past the 2 year point I warn you to do the same; the last AT&T/Samsung updates are generally the worst.
Been there, done that
Finally got it too. Manually check and it shows up as 2.5gb update

Anyone else experiencing laggy animations? The fact that the notification bar is now not transparent is annoying as well. Going back to home screen now makes it look like your home screen reloads like it did on the S6 with its terrible memory dumps. I'm not sure if the animation lag is a feature or a symptom of a buggy update. Updated on AT&T Note 20 Ultra

Turn off animations as it only eats resources.
Then you will see what's behind the mask... you should see a fast, snappy interface with almost zero perceptible lag* especially with that hardware.
*internet connected not withstanding
Not much different between os 10 and 11
I like the update so far, I'm on an AT&T Note 20 Ultra, but one thing that's bothering me is gesture navigation. I had it before the update, no gesture hints, worked like a dream. Now I feel like I have to pull up twice the distance and usually end up having to do it twice or 3 times before it registers. This also trips keys on the keyboard. Anyone else having this issue?
im in mexico i own a note 20 ultra 5g 512 gb unlocked, my company is telcel,my question is if a buy an at&t sim card can i get the update ?

I hate that you guys fell this way. I think this is maybe the best phone I've ever had. I've been running Android 11 for a couple days and I must say it vastly improved this phone. It fixed a lot of problems I was having and I couldn't be happier. It sucks because we have one of the only phones that can make Oneplus, Samsung and Apple fanboys jealous... IMO....

If the updates wore as consistent as other regions it would be my perfect phone! Without a doubt.
But I'm going to wait to December when we get the android 11 update, and hope I get it

Love the phone, I really do but for updates this phone sucks big time. Came from a pixel and samsung phone.. their updates are so much faster. Even for a samsung phone.
I hope the update for android 11 is a good one because I'm thinking to switch back to a pixel phone.
Let me get this straight? You want to sell your phone because you haven't had an update in the last couple of months ? Clearly you've never been a Samsung user I'm loving the phone, coming from a Samsung galaxy note 9. I now have a Snapdragon , decent base storage , and that dual battery / 30 minute fast charge is perfect for heavy usage, paired with decent battery life, +5 hour SOT over 24 hours consistently with all the bells and whistles switched on.

I got an update every month with my S10 plus , so yeah I so know, before the S10 updates wore crap, region settings gone no updates themes don't work fonts don't work breeno services don't work heytap cloud doesn't work, I spent 1100 pounds on this phone I expect top notch for paying that amount, because your not having these problems it's not effecting you so you can't really comment on this..... you guys living in EU should read this to understand :
"As a side note, due to limitations of the GDPR, European users will not have access to the beta version of the software. Even if you have an eligible device, you’ll need to wait until the stable rollout of Color OS 11 before you’ll be able to install it. Users outside of Europe will be able to try the open beta if they wish."
Source : https://www.androidauthority.com/color-os-11-1157601/
But Oppo swear they will release stable version before end of 2020.
Luckily im using Fx2P asia version . I have to say COS11 is really nice update and this device is stunning

Has anyone figured out or come across a method of disabling the attached app? ADB method is futile
com.tmobile.echolocate
Only alternative that comes to mind is flashing the U1 firmware.
Same here on both the Note20 & Ultra versions.
I even tried to uninstall via ADB to no avail.
Seriously considering installing the US unlocked firmware.
using Insular app maybe
Freeze using SD Maid or Titanium?
@raul6
Not quite getting how Insular would help.
Sounds like a copy of the app is sandboxed, but, the other copy is still active.
If I'm missing something, please elaborate.
@elmor0
Not rooted, SD Maid/Titanium are of no help in this situation.
Most any other bloatware is able to be frozen/disabled via ADB, but, this one isn't, on an unrooted device.

Hello how are you? Long time no see, good seeing you on here.
Right back at ya.
Yeah,it's been a while, not on as much as w/previous phones (equally because the site changes a while back were buggy, better now, but, still getting used to the new look & feel).
New to the Note 20 Ultra,I probably wouldn't have gotten it if not for a generous Mother's Day trade-in value on the LG Wing ($800).
I've had the regular Note 20 for quite a while now. Too bad the RAM & Storage take a hit vs the Ultra, otherwise it's a solid phone.
From what I gather, there'll be a trade-off if flashing from T-Mo to US Unlocked firmware,in that eSIM is MIA on the latter.
I think I'm going to go ahead & do it anyway,eSIM isn't a must-have,but,it does suck that one has to choose & make a compromise.
I saw that you came from the S21 Ultra........ I probably would have got that, but, the bulk of a case that can hold an S-Pen was a deal breaker. Otherwise,I'm guessing the overall performance is noticeably better than the Note 20 Ultra.
Package Disabler... it gets the AT&T update parasite.
@blackhawk
Which one are you using?
If from the Google Play Store, can you post the link?
I'm currently using the PC tool ADB App Control. It's an awesome tool, but, neither it nor regular ADB commands are working in removing the T-Mobile Diagnostic Tool app.

This is the only one that consistently works year after year.
This recent version doesn't list Google play Services so I have to manually disable it in apps, WTF? It still lists and blocks AT&T updates from running though. It's a yearly subscription now and cloud based however once it's installed you can firewall block it (which I do) with no harm.

The only NON-root solution that let’s you disable any unwanted packages that come pre-installed / installed with your phone / tablet.

You can also call the carrier and have (demand) them to disable it on their end. Did that with AT&T but if you get another device you'll need to do it again. It took some head banging to find an advance tech there to do it.

Good seeing you back. In regards to the S21U, I ordered one in 256GB from Samsung direct, had an issue and sent it back the next day, the screen on the particular one I had, had severe color shift even at a slightest angle. I just couldn't live with that. So now I'm back again in the Note 20U again, this time a mystic black TMO model. Previous was bronze and before that it was a white dual sim south American model and a few other devices in between.
I think I'm going to the same, and flash U1. There was also a lot of Sprint apps on it also.

In my neck of the woods I have seen some slight improvement in 4G LTE speeds, I can also get a 5G signal which is unfortunately slower than LTE for me, so I just keep mine set to LTE 3g 2g etc mode.
The lack of carrier aggregation was my biggest turn off in regards to non USA devices. Lack of 5G not so much of a concern.
Unfortunately I updated mine to BL2 so if that's the case then we'll have to wait until U1 is available to us. Oh well. ..

I'm afraid you're correct. They want to lock you in to Android's flat spin to hell.
The AT&T 4G stock Note 10+/Pie performs well after some... adjustments
That and maybe the Note 20U are the only Samsung's I would consider as Samsung's latter offerings are weak. Android 11 is a disaster and 10 is probably a downgrade from Pie.
Android is on track to be a flaming wreck if Gookill can't pull out of the flat spin it put its self in.
All in all I'm considering buying another Note 10+ 512gb 4G mostly for the extra ram. The 20U has faster memory/cpu but is handicapped by Q.
Slim pickens in my opinion... the N10+ is fast with a gorgeous display. It lacks the rounded corners displays which I loathe, being a CRT raised child The only downside to the perfectly square corners is the need for a good case. These corner hitting Notes will get destroyed without one.

I've been running it for about 6 months. It's always on as it cuts my battery usage by blocking apps like Android Services from constantly polling the internet. Accubattery is also a habitual offender.
It's been a valuable tool in tracking down battery hogs and data mining apps. I have yet to see any misbehavior from it. A near perfect app.
It's valuble logging feature doesn't work on Q and and above I been told. Thanks Gookill...

Yep. Samsung have proven they can't make efficient chips time and time again
I just received my October update yesterday the 5th.
Hi guys. how come S21 and S20 Series are getting One UI 5 stable and I have S22 Ultra S9080 and till date haven't got One UI5? Everyone with S9080.
I should've gone with an IPhone instead. They cost almost the same.
I had OnePlus for So long and it was amazing. Untill their 9 version and changed to Xioami and it was even worst and then to Samsung and this makes it even worst.
At least Chinese Brands don't really do this kind of update crap and apps available by region and can't change location and lots of bloatware despite Xioami.

Hi guys. how come S21 and S20 Series are getting One UI 5 stable and I have S22 Ultra S9080 and till date haven't got One UI5? Everyone with S9080.
I should've gone with an IPhone instead. They cost almost the same.
I had OnePlus for So long and it was amazing. Untill their 9 version and changed to Xioami and it was even worst and then to Samsung and this makes it even worst.

Just leave and go to the iPhone then if that's what you want. What's holding you back?
Oh, you from Samsung?

Thank you
I really don't know what this rudeness from Samsung is
How do they ignore this version of their latest devices
For more than two months, we have been waiting for the update to Android 13 beta, and the version S-9080 has not been released

It's not down to Samsung themselves. It's the team in China that are at fault

I've tried, they just say its down to the back office team and won't let you speak to them
I get the same kind of issues I don't know why it is almost more than 2 weeks we didn't get any updates
I am also disappointed of the updates speed. It is always like this - TGY - China/Hongkong are the last in the row.

Not sure, maybe they want the release to be stable as we have less updates than exynos

I'm over it Samsung ultra is coming up soon
Is there something cutting edge and beneficial enough to make someone change their life in the update?
My concern is my brand new pixel buds disconnecting and reconnecting constantly. Think that a firmware update on my buds would be more important. That's just me though

Got my wife the 23U and no noticable difference from the 22U. Just an update to what was already created. Agree with you 100%.

Haha. The "alright! I'm updated," until after the reboot feeling. I get it.

A quick Google search would've told you rather than you coming here and posting bs.
QPR3 kicking off on the 13th, do the math.

Exactly, I don't understand why people are all up and arms about the monthly being late. Are you in a rush for something? If you have ants in your pants and itching to update something, just reflash your current version to curb your addiction. Everyone needs to relax and stop opening meaningless threads. Be patient and just wait for the update to come out.
Well, maybe because one of the reason they bought the phone is that it should be the first to get each monthly security update. It's google update for google products after all.
Turned out, this month, my S23U is getting update faster than my P7P.
Am not itching or b*tching about update. I just find it funny that google is lagging behind in an area where they should actually excel. Not to mention they only have less than 20 phone models in their portofolio to manage as well. Lol

And how many of the 1 million Samsung devices did get the update this month?
Samsung is known to have a history of taking back or stopping updates due to massive problems. Google isn't the best update company too.
Better late and stable than early and buggy.

Well, consider that samsung, within one month, sold 1.1 million unit of s23 series alone globally, and those series been updated/getting march 2023 update,
i'd say, 1 million then.
number aside. I agree about being bug free. Which, surprisingly, exactly how it goes so far for my s23u.

Probably the same reason people talk about Pixel in Samsung forums. Justify a purchase, feel the need to lord it over if something is presumed better on one, really like their phone and want to convince others to like them too, tribalism, cult status.. all kinds of things. I just take it as entertainment on a Sunday morning. I do like the size specs on the S23 mini but then again it's a Sammy so...
As for the topic at hand I think if Google at least gave a reason for the delay that would appease many folks but that doesn't seem to be forthcoming. There are always little bugs we're hoping to squash with each monthly and maybe that's why everyone is wondering when. Even the columnists at AP and 9to5 are wondering and mashing the update button so for people to say just wait, what's the big deal, cool your jets etc. it is a little disingenuous.

the one big important thing against Sammy is Knox and Warranty lose when bootloader unlock. You w8 big part of new product because you want to keep warranty.
Unrelated to the update scenarios, I'll say this...I had the pixel 5 and swapped to a Samsung note 20 ultra which I used until getting the p7p. If I'm honest, the note has a way more premium feel to it, holding it, looking at it, using it blows the p7p out of the water. I've been swapping back and forth between the 2 and even at 3 cycles old the Samsung holds it's own.
