Is there a link between the Bootloader version and the Android version?
If I update my phone to the latest android version will this update my Bootloader to the latest version also?
Or they are completely independent from each other?
There is no link. Bootloader originates from the OEM on the device and will not get updated.

Can someone tell me is the rooting guide from this thread forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1693956 works on the latest android ics 4.0.4 update (4.1.B.0.587 build number).
Thanks in advance
Don't try it
If u have unlocked bootloader I think it should work,
but if u have unlocked BL why don't just flash a 4.1.B.0.431 kernel?

If I flash that kernel the update to new build number is not available.I got that message when I tryed to update with bootloader unlocked.Thats why I locked the bootloader to be able to get the new build update. The message was: your current version can't be updated...
Any help with this problem ???
Thanks in advance

Since you have installed an older kernel android will take it that your phone isn't up to date and prompt you to update, but since you already have the latest version the update will fail. AFAIK it will pose no threat to your phone's health, though I don't know how to disable the update check, let alone to be rid of the message.
I've resolved my FRP issue now I want to get it updated to the latest stable firmware version.

I am on Android V 9.0 /OOS 9.0.2. I am wanting to flash /e/ and it seems I need to be on the recent Android version as the instructions say "please ensure that the device is on the latest Android Stock firmware same as the version of the /e/OS you are planning to install."
When I run System update it says my updates are current. How do I update Android to a current version?
I am a user so please keep things as simle and as non-tech as possible. Thanks

just in case someone is in the same situation as you, you just need to update to OOS 9.0.9, you can do that by downloading the update package and installing it through local update option, once you are on that specific version you'll get an update notification for 11.1.2.2
Is there any way to update oos 10 to 11 only on slot A? As i understand when i am updating with the stock update app it switches slots after the update, but i have Windows 11 installed on the slot B
I have a question, if i downgrade my note 20 ultra from android 12 to android 10 via ODIN..do i need to unlock my phone or bootloader for me to succeed ?
You can't downgrade because of bootloader version. If I'm correct then Android 10 version comes with Bootloader version 1, but now latest Android 12 Bootloader versions is 4.

Difficult question. If you have USA variant then you can't unlock with bootloaders from v2.
Is there any way to downgrade binary 6 to 3 or just downgrade android oreo to marshmallow (ik its the same thing)
If someone ask "why?" touchwiz
It is not possible to lower the binary. This is what it was introduced for.
If the phone allows you to unlock the bootloader and flash TWRP and Custom ROM, then you can try to find a ROM based on an earlier firmware version, but it will no longer be a fully trusted firmware.
