Google Pixels are the best for your usage. Pure stock Android, the longest device update support, first to be updated. They can be cheap (eg google pixel 4a) or at a flagship price. In short, they're the ones you need

Well I am planning to get an android phone. Since I am a student I don't really need off the shelve and out of box multicore processor or some gimmicky stuff that adds to the price, what I am looking for is -
1. Q: Budget?
A: 15-20k INR ( ~$300-~$400)
2. Q: Preferred Form Factor(flip, bar, slider)?
A: Bar
3. Q: Preferred display type?
A: TFT / LED / AMOLED
4. Q: Do you have any brand preference or dislike? Please name them.
A: Sony , HTC (except One V)
5. Q: Preferred input method (Touchscreen, QWERTY, etc.)?
A: Touchscreen
6. Q: Camera required or not? If required, please specify type like front camera/flash/etc.
A: Required at least 5MP camera. Flash. With better sensors.
7. Q: Preferred operating system? (Android, Symbian, iOS, Windows Phone etc).
A: Android 2.3 minimum with upgrade to 4.0 official.
8. Q: Preferred connectivity options? (3G, Wifi, Edge etc).
A: 3G. / Wifi/ GPS/ Bluetooth
9. Q: What is your intended use for this phone(internet, camera, multimedia, mails, etc)?
A: Music, Sports - Tracker, Reading , Application development.
10. Q: Any other requirements?
A: Don't require dual sim/require dual sim/etc.
11. Q: If you have already considered a phone then please mention the model.
A: Sony Xperial Sola, Xperia Neo V .
Good looking with ample processing power.
Modding support.
More than fast web browsing.
Music and videos
Sports Tracker heavy usage
NOte - The most important thing that I want is MIUI / CM Mod support, since Xperia Sola is yet to be released by 22nd May in India, should I get the device ? or vouch for some older modle ? How well can I expect developer support specially MIUI rom ? I know its a bit to early to expect developer support but whats the developer take on SOLA ?
Those are the only primary need that I have, if the phone can render pdf that will be beneficial but i don't like sluggish rendering. I am buying the phone for learning purpose (droid ecosystem) and development of apps.
I dont have ample money in my hand nor I want a high end phone. My current phone Motorola WX260 (999 INR bucks) serves me good. have no real contrainst for screen size but it shouldn't be too big to carry.
Budget is max $400 that I can arrange. Will be good if I get some great deal online with some coupons.
Other than that I don't know what to expect. Not particularly looking for good cam and all, just more than decent music and web support with ample processing power.
That should suffice I guess , please do suggest me a decent phone.
Regards

Now you have:
Sony Xperia Neo V
Sony Xperia ray
Motorola Motoluxe
But I think you should wait for Sola It's new, good technical specs and looks amazing, like all new expensive models S, U, P.
Hi there,
Good news for me and for the android community, my company decided to replace all blackberry devices by android devices (Normally by 3 model Samsung.)
Of course, this must be done quickly.
We have around 1000 devices to replace.
My question is : How can we create a "master" to industrialize the process ?
One device needs a lot of "tuning". Like applications of course, launch bar shortcut, desktop to personnalise... I guess one device need at least 45 minutes to be ready for the user. This is not really good
We have BES10 has a MDM. But as you know, BES10 can't totally manage Android devices.
Is there a way to clone a device ? With all applications and custom settings ?
Many thanks.
NB : I hope the general section will be the good one.
No way to do that ?
up ? maybe a magical application to do that ?
I'm not a complete newbie to AW but I've failed so far in connecting an otherwise smoothly working Xiaomi Redmi Note 2, Android 5.0.2 LRX22G, Miui 7.1.1.0 (LHMCNCK) to a new Sony Smartwatch 3. "g.co/wearcheck" claims the phone is compatible, androidwear app does install and pair to the watch. But then the updating process freezes... or runs for ever, litterally. I've opened up all permissions to AW and google apps, rules out all power saving options. BT connection does look very stable, sync. occurs when you don't expect it, if ever, and watch seems unable to read anything on phone, even when BT connection seems OK...
I've read on several places on the web, including Sony SW3 official forum, and Xiaomi international one, many complains.
So are Miui 7 and GW known to be incompatible or should I struggle some more, trusting g.co/wearcheck?

Good luck !
Hello all forum-members!
I am new in this forum and I don't know how to root a smartphone.
I have seen this in YouTube:
....ttps://m.youtube.com/watch?v=fhCoY7nOTaE
and I want to do exactly this also (sorry that I have deleted the first letter of this link, but as a newbie I don't may write complete links).
Now I have this smartphone: Vodafone Smart 4G with Android 4.2.2
Unfortunately my smartphone is not supported from Android Auto, so I'm looking for a new smartphone.
I live in Germany and I'm looking for a new smartphone with:
1.: a removable accumulator (battery)
2.: which is supported from Android Auto (the smartphone must have Android 5, better Android 6, perhaps Android 7)
3.: which is not expensive (I think 200 Euros maximum).
4.: with maximum a 5"-display (if possible not more than 5") and if it's possible with at least hd-resolution (1080x720 pixel)
5.: with at least a quad-core-processor
6.: with minimum 2GB RAM and minimum 16 GB ROM.
7.: with a microSD-slot
Which smartphone has all these features and it is also possible to root it very easy without using a computer (because I have only an old notebook with Windows XP)?
I hope that I don't ask too much and I wish me a lot of good ideas and good answers.
