What about the new One Plus Nord. I Have Bought Mine, but still have not rooted it, as am scared it will void Warranty.

Hi everyone i just got my xoom a few days ago and everything is running great. Currently thinking of rooting the device for OC and other stuff. But i have a few questions first, for those who are familiar with it please help.
1) I'm from Australia and bought the US wifi version from amazon, does anyone know if im covered for warranty?
2) Is it possible to reverse the root and lock the bootloader on the wifi only xoom yet? Remember reading that it wasnt possible yet before.
3) If i do unroot and lock the bootloader will Motorola still cover a hardware fault under their warranty (if i am covered)?

1 Unless product has expressed international warranty and service support available in your country you need to send it back to USA.
Please confirm with seller about warranty(duration,etc)
2 moto dev website has official images and instructions(as these directly from motorola so no issues no hacking,etc.).
Just to confirm if i unlock then relock the bootloader i can still claim warranty even though i agreed that i voided the warranty when i unlocked it??

Since no one said the answer yet, Rooting your phone is voiding warranty, That means flashing a C-ROM too.
Basically Modifing your phone even in the smallest part will void your warranty.

obiviously if you interfere with system app ar you install custom rom it contain super su this mean rooting software and rooting voids warranty:angel:

I have a new brand (not famous brand ) phone , and I was thinking of rooting the device in order to have more ram but my only problem is that the warranty I know that it may be void after root but :
if i unroot the device will it still void or not ? and i hear that engineers in the companies they can know if the phone was rooted is it right ?
(Note : it is only unrooting without custom rom or flashing and my phone warranty is from the device comapany it self)

your warranty is void after rooting, but in my personal experience, no one even checks. it could just be customer support in my area, but when i try replacing a brick i dont tell them that i rooted, i just tell them my problem and they usually replace it.
p.s. i only did this once, my friends are the other experience!
p.p.s. and i dont think rooting can give you more ram, but i may be wrong.
You can set the CPU up higher and overclock it which will speed up the phone

if you are only seeking to get more ram i would advise not to root your phone because the only about of ram you are going to get is around 30mb's which pretty much means you can only run +1 more app which is not worth it. as for Warrenty voids. if you root your device and send it in for repairs, its voided, if you unroot it and send it in it should not be voided, some new phones have have a counter that can tell the OEM if the device is modified or not, this is only for most newer samsung phones. they can only tell if it was rooted that way if its an older device running Gingerbread and you unroot it ( delete your root apps) i dont think they can detect that it was rooted.

Your Warranty is voided as soon as you root your device (only if they find out in the Service repairs) pretty much if you break your phone and needs service repairs delete root apps and unroot.

@hopsin4444 please Read the OP before you post nonsense, Overclocking has nothing to do with what he wants and the only way for him to overclock is with a Custom kernel. :/
I Have rooted LS996 and was successful but I kind of goofed up while flashing the ROM and bricked it. I paid a bomb at the service centre to replace the motherboard to LH955 (guess it is the global version).
Here's my question, I want to root LH955 but I am not finding a solid thread like the previous one to root it. Probably with One Click Method is better for me. I so want to root it again but want to be safe. I am virtually broke
Is there anyone who has done LH955 before or help me in the right direction to do so.
I hate bloatware and I want full control of my phone.

there was a thread on here somwhere with links to rooted roms of 5.1.1 for most of the flex 2 versions, h955 included.

I paid a bomb. It was in INR.
I got this unlocked phone from ebay at 14K (the sprint LS966 Version)
I rooted. It was successful.
While flashing ROM i bricked the phone.
Installed new motherboard with Indian version which was H955 again at 14K
Felt like a fool, but guess it was somewhat worth it.

What process did you use to root ls996? I have same phone with 5.1.1 upgrade and cant seem to root without computer
