Should I keep my Redmi in ultra battery saving mode everytime - General Questions and Answers

I recently got update in MiUi 12 and it's good
There is an option of ultra battery saving mode ?
So using that ultra battery saving mode 24hrs a day
does it harm the battery in anyway ?

I think it will not harm the battery. But maybe it is not good for some apps which need ignore the battery saving mode.

Buy a new battery 2600 mAh or 3000 mAh.
Maybe i will buy laiter. But what about program
ive used both juice defender and green power battery saver. both are decent in my experience. im currently on green power and i get an additional hour or two which lasts me a full day of rigorous phone use
I instaled Battery booster and my battery now was alive for maybe 30h~ . i didnt use very much my phone but still, its awesome. Because usualy my battery drains out in 10h~ or less. Maybe its because i changed rom, from acura rom to thiaz and raized battery stats. but now my battery is realy better. I instaled ram optimizer too.
juice defender ultimate in extreme mode is the better solution! My stock battery after 2 days is still alive!

Just use power max (best battery saver period) and install an auto killer and you will see a major boost in battery. Plus, install fast reboot and set it to where it works when screen turns off and on

I used battery calibration . It worked great for me but you have to have root on your device
Try Bataria from market. Works great.
power max does its job pretty well

horrible battery life

hi all i use a w8 and my battery life is just awful
sbout 1% every 30secs on use and 1% every 45 mins on standby ...it just sucks
- i use GDX rom
-rooted
-stock kernel
-use 360 launcher
thats it
my battery seems to be buggy cause sometimes it shows 64% and iwhen i restart it shows 67% ...any help?
I've read battery life has some to do with the rom and I just saw a post that says after flashing a from to wipe battery stats in recovery I'm looking that up now also I don't think a battery saving app would hurt I use juice defender but I'm a noob Im only telling you what I read so look into it to make sure
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
I use juice defender too. I found that it helps a lot - doesn't matter if it was rooted or not, battery life improved a lot with the app.
hmm kay i think i will try defender ..but srlsly i dun get why it drains so fast ..i tried with 3 other roms but with no good
Try these steps below.
Lower down your Brightness
Set your Phone to Power Saving Mode
Turn off your Wifi when your not using it.
Download Power Saver App: Easy Battery Saver + Task Killer.
ermmmy phone don't have power save mode...it;s a rather old model ..and i never NEVER on wifi , bluetooth , 3G ,data , sync etc ...and i put brightness to lowest ( to save battery since i am in a crisis )
ok so i install juice defender ...and something weird is going on ...my battery never moves ..which is goo and wird .it's stuck at 7f 2or a hour s i restarted and it's at 65% for 2 hrs now is this a bug or is my phoe's battery life is insane?
Ya i use juice defender on extream then just ad the apps i want data and wifi for then i use white killer a root app killer and it frees up half my ram from crapware now all i need to get is titanium pro to freeze my crap ware after doing this my optimus thrill trill has probly 3 times the battery life and if your fermilure with this modle it really sucks juice. Alot better now.

This post contains the news that wiping the battery stats has zero effect.
still...my battery life is SHIIII
You mentioned your phone is an older model; the issue might be that your battery is wearing out. After so many cycles of charges/discharges they lose capacity. You might want to look for a low cost replacement battery if the mods you're trying for your phone aren't helping.

Screen display killing battery

My note 10.1 was on sleep mode for 2 days and the battery was almost at 10 percent from 100...i looked under the battery options and the display was using 80 percent of the battery.. How if it was not on? I have power saving mode on..

mine will sleep for weeks without draining the battery much
I noticed that the percentages that appear in settings> battery are not accurate .... I suggest that they show the battery consumption percentage of the last use before the display turns off
Or the overall battery usage since it was turned on. The screen being the power hungriest of all things will always be on top of the pile...
I figured out it was my wifi draning my battery while the tab was asleep...turn off wifi now when im not using the tab and I get awesom battery life.

Anyone else disappointed with Extreme Power Saving Mode?

Anyone else not getting much "extreme power saving" when EPS is turned on? Honestly, my phone seems to drain at the same rate whether it is on or off.
At least triples my standby battery life over standard power saver mode.

10% overnight sounds like a lot. I would have to think you have an application that is causing the issue.
I get better with the normal than I do the eps. I can get through a day with normal to heavy use. And eps seems to drain just as fast

What battery level to you have it configured to become active? It doesn't run all the time - only when your battery reaches the configured level. It will not improve your day to day batter life - it helps your phone to last longer when the battery gets very low (configurable to either 20%, 10% or 5%) by turning off everything but essential features like calling, etc.

You can also manually turn it on...just fyi.
I'm going to try it out tonight with a full battery and see what I end up with by the morning.
I manually turn it on at night when I go to bed.
On my m8 in power saving mode I tap on the leaf to show the battery usage while in power saving mode and among other things it shows the Kindle app as using battery even though I never use it. My understanding is that it should only be running phone, texts, and the clock I wonder if this is a bug.

Yeah you've definitely have something keeping your phone awake at night. I'll drop 1% over 8 hours at night. With no EPS and leaving 4g on

10% over night with or with out?
You should drain about 2 to 5% over night with no attempt at battery conservation.
Also, the term "overnight" is very relative. I sleep 4 to 6 hours a night. Others 8 to 10...
Its best to describe battery drain in percent per hour %/hr

I also have strange apps running in Extreme Power Saving mode:
Amazon Kindle
Facebook
Skype
[Amazon] Appstore
What the **** Verizon?
Edit:
Add Amazon Music to that list. Just popped up now.
Edit edit:
I was wrong, it works great! You just need to set it and forget it (like while your sleeping)
Mine says Facebook, Beautiful Widgets, and Google Search have each used 1-2% during EPS mode.
I have found that Google plus, tasker, Kindle, snapdragon battery saver use battery. worst of all extreme power saving mode uses 5-15 percent of the battery usage

How are you able to see what apps are running while in EPS mode?On my wife's M7 I can't even get into the settings menu. Let alone open a custom app.

Tap the leaf next to the clock.
Turn mine on at 10 at nigh and its 100%. Wake up at 5 and its still sitting at 100%. Been great for me

This does nothing for me. But mine is working fine I lose about 0.33%/hr.
I've changed my mind
I turned on extreme power saving mode at midnight with 86% and turned it off at 8 am to find it still at 86%. Only tasks using battery in the morning before I exited EPS were essential apps (dialer, messages, and two others which I forgot).
Needless to say, I'm very happy with its performance. If you just turn it on and leave it alone, it seems to work as it is supposed to.

Question Battery life in s21+ exynos variant ?

Hey guys ,
I have been getting very bad battery life compared to what others are getting . With careful usage , basically turning off location and using it with only one sim . I managed just about 6 hrs screen on time for 20hrs usage. The sot is heavily boosted by youtube and prime video.
I know the use case is very different for every one but considering this is an 4800mah battery. This is the best I have managed . I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here. Please share your battery life experience.

I get around 7 hours on 60hz, and i have had to turn off a lot of google service. Not really happy with the SOT in this device. Not even gonna talk about the slow LTE speeds and wifi 2,4ghz speeds.
I am on snapdragon
Bluetooth, wifi/data always on, dark mode, social media mostly, 120hz. 7-9 SOT always with 10% left. May patch. Exynos variant
That's not bad bro. For me, same condition but using both sims, I got around 6+ hr SOT and 36 hr stand-by time.

I did bloatware removal with adb. Maybe that's why I'm getting these numbers
I use some optimization to achieve this SOT (exynos chipset) :
- Turn off mobile data while using wifi (bixby routine)
- Power Saving Mode always active (but still using 120hz refresh rate)
- Uninstal all samsung bloatware using ADB command
- Deep Sleep all aplication which I dont need to standby at background
Yeah the battery life is attrocious, and so is Samsung's service in Ireland.
My S21+ (Exynos) struggles to get *3* hours of screen on time, and after 5 months I am about to issue a complaint with the bank after giving up on Samsung support's incompetence.

Yes i saw it recently. I uninstalled some other apps today. I will see if good battery and performance this week. thanks.
How are you getting 10hr SOT and think it's bad! Even the manufacturers say you can expect a day's use out of today's flagship phones which usually means around 2-3hrs SOT.
A day and half usage if you are pushing it!!
How can you enable Power Saving Mode and enforce 120hz screen?
