What version of TWRP for my Poco F2 Pro 8/256? - Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro (Redmi K30 Pro) Questions & Ans

Hi,
how to know if a version of twrp is good for my device,
i mean i read some post about the different versions of twrp and sometime bootloop happen with 3.4.2b sometime with 3.4.1 or chinese LWR.
I want to install magisk over stock 12.0.4 Global but am a bit afraid with all the versions of TWRP and bootloop problem for my Poco F2 Pro 8/256 with stock 12.0.4 QJKMIXM...
Subsidiary question: When can we expect to have an official version of twrp?
Thanks by advance.

Well, pick anyone, I'm personally using LRTeam TWRP.
Just backup your data and if you'r stuck in a bootloop you can try flash another or reflash your stock ROM with miflash.

Lost twrp after miui 10 update

Hi, i have a problem with twrp. Lately i bought a Redmi Note 6 Pro, i waited the normal 15 days to unlock the bootloader, then I unlocked it and i flashed twrp, root, etc... The problem is that after the first update i made (MIUI 10 stable update) i lost root (which i think it's normal) and the twrp. TWRP recovery got overwritten by the default xiaomi recovery. How can i fix this? Because it's impossible to install twrp back after every update, i would have to format it evey time because of the locked internal storage! I'll leave some info below.
Ah and btw i tryed again yesterday with a new update and it happened again, so it wasn't just a one-time thing.
Phone: Redmi Note 6 Pro 4+64
MIUI version: MIUI Global 10.2 | Stable | 10.2.2.0(OEKMIXM) last version, i updated yesterday
TWRP used: unofficial twrp, the official one isn't out yet for my device. If it's needed i can send the iso or something
Used this recovery

Does it work for you or you lose it as well after update? Thank you anyway
Will this twrp work for latest version??
I lost root and TWRP after updating too.
I heard that everytime you update your phone, it replaces the TWRP and disable root. That's one of the reasons I will wait more before root my phone.
Guys i'm working hard to find a solution. If i find it i'll tell you. Please do the same if you find something
I think you'll need to do everything again (install TWRP and root).

The bad part isn't re-installing twrp or root. It's that every time you do that you MUST format the data because insthead you wouldn't have access to internal storage from twrp, and that makes it impossible to flash anything

That's indeed the worst part. Better to wait for a recovery that can decrypt internal storage permanently.

After flashing stock miui you have to flash disable vm cause the stock miui will replace the recovery with the stock one!
You all should learn about these topics more or stop experimenting with half knowledge.
When you are installing/ flashing any full MIUI ROM, you are also flashing the stock recovery that comes with MIUI. So it's natural that TWRP will get replaced.
So after flashing a new ROM, always flash TWRP and Lazyflasher too.
Always install/ flash a new ROM via TWRP and not through the System Updater app.
Hope this helped.
Flash TWRP then flash this : https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/universal-dm-verity-forceencrypt-t3817389
for euopean country you should use EU rom, weekly OTA update and flashed by TWRP automatically,
only Magisk must be flashed again for root,
maybe for chinese developer rom it is the same procedure ?
Lost root

Root Issues expert help needed

I have android 10 f2 pro-global firmware 12.0.4
I wanted to ask if I root this phone and update comes, will it brick my phone?
I wanted to ask can I root it using flashing patched boot.img using the fast boot for magisk instead of twrp
I also wanted to ask people saying to flash Xiaomi.eu, first go to Chinese firmware then flash Xiaomi.eu rom or your device gets brick, is it true?
can I use other then twrp recovery to flash xiaomi.eu rom because twrp is not perfect this time and is bricking devices?

Can't flash any rom from twrp (expect miflash)

hi everyone, i was using miui 12.0.4 stock rom and i received update (12.2.2.1) so i updated but it was laggy so bad. so i turned back 12.0.4 with miflash. now i can't flash any rom (stock or any aosp), because of odm error. after flashed system img. twrp gives error and it says unable to mount odm invalid argument. i can flash stock rom only with miflash
example:
flashing system image unconditionally...
succes..
then : unable to mount /odm invalid argument
i tried everything but still same

hey
did you try that? (with LOS recovery, only one that worked with me for flashing first time, can install another one after)
(be on 12.0.4 global -> MiFlash)
on fastboot:
fastboot erase userdata
flash LOSrecovery (by @SebaUbuntu the only one that worked for me for booting successfully)
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot reboot recovery
FORMAT data and cache from LOS recovery
flash the rom via ADBsideload (update option in LOSrecovery)
adb sideload zipoftherom.zip
reboot
P.S.: after first boot you might not have LOSrecovery anymore, then you can go back to fastboot and flash the recovery of your choice (mauro's, LRTeam,...) (and then you can flash magisk if root needed... if not sideloaded earlier)
LOS recovery (the one that worked for me) : http://files.sebaubuntu.me/Recovery/LineageOS-Recovery/lmi/
mauronofrio one : https://forum.xda-developers.com/poco-f2-pro/development/recovery-twrp-xiaomi-poco-f2-pro-t4167169
P.P.S.: doesn't hurt to make sure you've been using lastest MiFlash version https://cdn.alsgp0.fds.api.mi-img.co...020-3-14-0.rar, to make sure you're flashing GLOBAL 12.0.4, that your adb and xiaomi drivers are the latest ones...
Cheers !

now i cant even flash maunorofrio twrp from fastboot, also gives error flashing...
so only way I found for now is reinstall 12.0.4 with miflash

Be careful NOT to tick the option "clean all AND lock" at the bottom right of the MiFlash software, indeed ! That will re-lock the bootloader :cyclops:

I understand bootloader but IS?
You can try this: Flash with Miflash (the latest version)https://xiaomiflashtool.com/ option CLEAN ALL the rom that was on your phone when you bought it.
Finish configuring the phone.Skip code and fingerprint and do not secure lock screen (no diagram, nothing).
Install TWRP(chinesse),boot to TWRP,format data(if red lignes reboot twrp and format again)reboot TWRP,wipe all, except OTG,reboot TWRP,flash the rom you want, after format and/or wipe according to the rom.

Still Poco Logo in boot

I am desperate here. After installing the TWRP, you can still see the Poco logo instead of the Redmi after booting. On the PC the Poco 2 is recognized as Redmik30pro Safetynet etc dont pass. What i can do?
Which ROM?
Hi, thanks for answering first. It is the eu weekly 20.12.10
Weekly is beta, you must use magisk for Safetynet ..
Maybe try here:https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...droid-11-and-magisk-on-xiaomi-eu-rom.4170031/
Sorry for the late responce. Thanks, but i have tried magisk. I got it now. My phone dont sccept k30pro twrp. so i flashed original chines firmware k30Pro. Installed twrp and it still boots as K30Pro. Flashed eu again, than magisk and see there, it works

Question ROM

I'm asking for opinions. What is the difference between ROM 13.0.19.0.SLCEUXM and xiaomi.eu_multi_XM12_V13.0.37.0.SLCCNXM

The first is stock rom intended for the European continent.
The second is a custom rom based on Chinese firmware with many modifications and latest developments.
Better than stock.
See here:https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/miui-13-stable-release.64441/
Change version to stock rom(EEA to Global, etc) or install Xiaomi EU rom requires bootloader to be unlocked.
It is better to install the first ROM or the second one. Bootloader is unlocked. And I have a second ROM installed. Should I reinstall it? And I have to format in TWRP? Thanks for the answers.

How did you install the rom and what rom do you want install?
I had 13.0.19.0.SLCEUXM there, but I formatted, apparently there is nothing there, the system says that it is not installed. Formatting doesn't work. I can only go to fastboot or TWRP. I do not know what to do. I would like to install such a ROM there, from which it will be possible to upgrade Android 13 when it is available. I don't know what to do. Thanks for the help.

For a stock rom I always use MIFLASH
Use Miflash:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/flash-tool-guide-use-xiaomi-flash-tool.4262425/
DONT RELOCK THE BOOTLOADER
EDIT:
With a stock rom and a bootloader unlocking the play will not be certified.
This problem does not exist with XIAOMI EU ROMS.

So,if you use Miflash you can re lock the bootloader.
I like to use TWRP, Magisk so I don't want to lock the bootloader. I need to learn how to do with MiFlash. I was able to install the rom via TWRP. But I had big problems with formatting the data. It seems to be fine now.

You want to be up to date with the latest rom so why did you install an EEA rom when there is a stable global beta in A13.
https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/miui/cupid/
You have problems with the TWRP and you want to root and use modules, if you are a beginner these are not really things to do, with the root an error and the phone is broken.
Prevention is better than cure.
