To those currently using it, how stable is the newest Open Beta? And if it's stable is it worth trying out?
I've always been rooted with TWRP. This is the first time I've used stock. The last time I updated I used the Oxygen updater app.
Will it wipe data if I switch to Open Beta? and if I decide to switch back to stable will I need to wipe data?
Only reason I ask is because last week some people on beta received a stable version and I guess it messed things up for some of them.
Thanks

So in the last 48 hours I successfully rooted, unlocked the bootloader, reset the flash counter, and flashed CyanogenMod 10.0.0 with gapps, thanks to the help of 2 video tutorials for Mac and the help of this forum. Anyway, when I was researching CyanogenMod, on some website it had the version of Cyanogen next to a version of Android. I just assumed that this meant that since I was on 4.1.2, I had to flash the one next to my Android version. Should I have done this? Or should I have used the latest stable version of Cyanogen?
Well, yeah, as with most software you generally want to stay with the most current stable release..
Latest stable 10.1.3 is available here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2053799
The latest version 10.2 (based on android 4.3) is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2405425
There are instructions in both OPs which you should have no problem following if you've already gotten yourself onto CM. Going to either version will require a clean flash, so you'll lose any apps and settings you dont backup.
Hi,
is there any chance to upgrade from Global Beta to current Global Stable-Rom without wiping my phone?
Thanks in advance
Sure you can do anything but you will end up having some issues. Just backup everything and start fresh. Your device will run better and have less problems.
If I wanted to go to Stable OOS from Open Beta. And I wanted it to be a complete full wipe.
What would be the easiest way to do it?
I believe that since you are willing to do a full wipe that using Oxygen Updater would be the best. You can choose what type of update you want, such as beta, or stable, as well as Full or Incremental. Now I have used it many times but I have always been on stable. I am fairly certain that you can download the FULL stable version and apply it as it is. You should receive a warning that this will WIPE your phone as you are willing to do, and then after the update is completed you will be running the latest 10.0.2 stable.
If there is anyone here reading this that has a better way, or can correct any error on my part, then please chime in!

Dear all,
Hope you are doing great, I was downloading and installing automatic updates just fine and the other week got a notification about a new update of over 1.4 gbs and the automatic installer was not possible to do and requested me to download it and installing it manually. I downloaded the Rar and everything was going smooth and when I enter TWRP I installed at first shoot without doing any wipe or clear cache or data.
All was installed and it told me to restart the phone, I did that and vroom a vibrating sound happen and got me back to the main screen of Poco and then to TWRP and show me 3 workarounds to clear data and cache and the last resort do a clean flash rom.
I had to end with the last option since I was unable to install the update. What could be gone wrong here? I am back at stock now and I am very sad that this fricking update break all the custom firmware and got me bootlooped
I look for your inputs and maybe I can try again.
Thank you!
You must install Android 11 firmware for newer versions of Arrow as it has switched to OSS vendor.
I was on arrow os 11 so Android 11 was on there, the issue was when I was installing the new update from surija I believe si called the developer.
Do you guys have an idea what did I did wrong? Should You recommend staying vainilla stock miui 12 with root privileges or arrow 11?
Thank you!
I was able to flash the latest version update but I am having a System UI is not responding and got WIFI broken so if anyone is installing this update be careful, does anyone installed the last arrow OS update?
I am currently having issues with the last update, I think I will stick with no updates on the firmware
Sorry I am posting multiple updates on my thread, but I tested it and definetly the last update from Surya break the OS when you login you do not have WIFI and is showing the error I mentioned UI system unresponsive. I installed the version from April from Arrow OS and all works like a charm.
So if anyone reads this be careful with latest release from Surya 5/14 version
Yes, i can confirm. The version I used initially was from april 30. The update from may caused bootloop. I'll be turning off updates when I restore it with miflash.
The main reason I went with arrow is that it is selinux enforcing and supports safety net. But this really makes me think..
@SebixWolf The problem may have been that you flashed arrowos from the wrong miui version. I just miflashed back to the original regional version, flashed twrp again and flashed the R firmware. See https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...ng-flashing-custom-rom.4274891/#post-85002889
Note: non-T-mobile variant straight from OnePlus's site (unlocked global)
I wanted to get Android 11 early so upon first beta release, I installed it. I had tons of troubles (like everyone else) and ultimately had to wipe my phone, which fixed many issues. I still have a few super annoying ones but it's mostly usable. I'm now on OP7Pro_02_Beta_4 and have been waiting for further fixes for months! My wife has the same phone and apparently at some point she got the Android 11 update (non beta) which I didn't know was pushed. Her phone is very stable with no issues.
Why the heck is my phone still on a broken and very much beta version when the stable release is out? I'm assuming my beta 4 is an earlier release than my wife's 11.0.1.1? I assumed my phone, getting beta releases, would end up on a stable version, but now I'm thinking it will only ever get beta updates? How are you supposed to compare beta vs regular release and how do I get back to a stable version? I'm guessing a wipe is the only way?
Lastly, does anybody recommend rooting this phone? I've ALWAYS rooted previous phones but I've been happy with the (mostly) bloat free unrooted OnePlus phones.
You get beta updates on the beta channel, stable updates on the stable channel. It's that simple.
You can upgrade to the latest stable using the inbuilt system updater itself. Your data will be wiped only if the firmware you're currently on has a security patch newer than the firmware you're going to upgrade to. I think you probably have March security patch on OB4 and 11.0.1.1 has May security patch, so you won't lose your data while switching.
I have had root access on my 7 Pro since day 1. I wouldn't recommend it unless you really need it. I just use a magisk module to change my font style to Google Sans. Then I use GravityBox for some statusbar and lockscreen tweaking. I also use Swift Installer for a proper dark (black) theme system wide.
