Does Mi Turbo Charge work with device off? - Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro (Redmi K30 Pro) Questions & Ans

I was wondering if some of the turbo that comes is software related or if it works only with the phone turned on.

It charges slightly faster in power off mode

Every device charges faster, when thay are turned off.
And as for poco f2 pro, I tested it myself, it takes 10 min less to fully charge from 20% to 100%

Just checked ; QC charge does work with the phone off

Phone won't recognise charger

This is a strange one. When I connect USB to my computer the device shows up, I also get the option for USB tethering on the phone... however it does not indicate that it is charging. The charger works in other phones and I've even tried using a proper charger (i.e. not a usb cable).
Now the thing is, I'm not sure if it's not charging. When I turn the phone on I have 11% battery and get a notification about it and told to plug in a charger, and when I plug it in the message does not come back - although the battery % stays on 11.
Are the Motorola USB drivers installed?

They are installed on my PC yes, although I don't see what that has to do with it?
I'm asking the stupid questions first, lol...
Which USB ports are you using, try connecting to a port on the motherboard (proper +5V) if not?
I have the same problem with a nokia lumia 920 charger, the charger works in others phones and some time before works in my phone too

Like I said, I've tried using a direct mains charger too. The USB connection from phone to computer is fine as I can transfer files etc. It just won't charge regardless of what cable I use.
That said though, the battery has been on 11% for a long time. Makes me think that it has actually been charging (or else it would have decreased/died) and it's just the reading that is stuck? I've tried switching to icon mode then % but it's still on 11. Is there a way to recalibrate it? The phone is barely a month old so it's surely not a hardware issue.

When I got mine the battery hung on 31% for ages then dropped to 0% and rebooted. Since then I cycled it through a few times without connecting the charger until it was flat and then charged it to max and left it for a few hours at least. It came good after that and I've had no problems. According to Motorola to recalibrate the battery state it should be left for charge once fully charged for a few hours extra.
I've had mine for a few weeks.
It doesn't seem to change either side of 11% whether I charge it or not. I guess I'll just have to plug it in for a few hours and assume it's fully charged?
It took me ~4 and 1/2 hours to charge it fully using the 500mAh Moto charger from 0%, but I did it the other way around--I used it till it was flat first.

When you go to Settings > Battery, it is supposed to tell you whether it's charging.

It actually says charging now, but it continues to say that even when I remove the charger.
Also my battery has finally dropped from 11% to 10%, that is after around 7 hours use...

That's very peculiar... It might indicate something wrong at the firmware level. You are running the standard ROM, are you?
I'd advise to jump some factory resets / firmware (re)install hoops.
I'm running Beanstalk ROM but the creator is already getting very cranky with me for suggesting it might be a bug in that
Unless you can reproduce the behaviour with the stock firmware, Beanstalk is the prime suspect.
But it could be a file/driver corruption, hence the suggestion to reinstall.
Same problem with XT1033 on Stock 4.4 ROM
on stock 4.4 ROM same problem i am facing, even after 1-2 hours charging its showing same % of battery.
but after a restart its coming to normal condition & shows charging icon.
I charged my phone last night (still on 10%), brought it out with me and during use it cut out and would not turn on. I kept trying to turn on by either pressing power on or pressing power & vol down. A couple of times I got to the bootloader but that was it. When I got home I plugged it into a charger and it came up with a white screen with an empty battery graphic.
Now my phone will not turn on no matter what I do, even when plugged in.

How does Optimized Charging really work?

I am wondering besides turning on the feature. How does it work? Does it take into account of other features turning on?
I read on OnePlus forum. So I tried it out last night. I put my phone on the wired charger at 5% battery @ 11:45PM. By 12:45AM ish it was already fully charged. My impression is that it slows down charging on overnight charge near the time I wake up.
Yes but I think you need to do it a few times so it learns when to charge that way. I could be wrong but that's how I understand it.
Sent from my IN2017 using Tapatalk
I could never get it to work either so I installed the GUI version of ACCA. It works perfectly. I have it set to charge up to 95% and then it'll discharge (if I have it plugged in) until 85% then it'll charge back up to 95%. I also have it set to turn the phone off at 15%.

Slow Charging after MIUI 12 Update

Hello Everyone,
Yesterday, I recieved MIUI 12 Update on my Poco X2 128 GB Variant (India/Global Rom). After updating , the charging time has drastically increased. On MIUI 11 Global rom, It took around 70-75 minutes to charge 0-100%. Now it is taking more than 120 minutes for the same. Although, It is showing fast charging symbol, but not as fast as it used to be on MIUI 11. I'm using the stock charger & cable which came with the phone. Please let me know if :
- Is anyone else facing or faced the same issue ? If yes, then is it going to fix with time or did you find any way to fix it ?
- If I flash official MIUI 11 via fastboot, does it bring back fast charging again ? Does it violates the warranty terms ?
Thanks in Advance
You should try battery calibration. It mostly fixes the software side bugs which relate to charging.
Here are the steps:
1. Charge your phone to 100% without interruption.
2. Discharge your phone fully until it turns itself off (never connect the charger).
3. Turn your phone on a few times to confirm its actually at 0% charge and quickly turnsoff.
4. Plug your phone into the charger and, without turning it on, let it charge until the on-screen indicator says 100%.
5. Turn on the phone and see that the phone is at 100%, keep the charger connected as long as is needed to reach 100%.
See if this fixes the issue.

Keep phone on a cold surface with no cover and charge again. Warm poco charges slowly.
i found problem charging slow
after update miui 12 i found charging speed slow than usual . i found when screen off then charging speed will speed like normally but when screen on charging speed will decrease about 30-40% from normally speed . i cant find how to disable it . anyone have solution?
Hey there,
I tried all you suggested, but it didn't helped. Then I made a factory reset. Charging speed is better after reset, but it's not as fast as on MIUI11.
It is taking approximately 85-90 minues to charge 0-100. But charging while switch off mode is unaffected. I can fully charge phone in 66 minues.

Yes, warm phone charges slowly, but my phone is at 25 degree C temp. Warm environment is not an issue as well in my case.

It's normal to charge a little slower while screen on. It's not a problem.

Maybe that's another issue in MIUI 12 while charging.
I'm waiting for my bootloader to unlock. Going to try PE or back to stock MIUI11.
Hi, im facing the same issue on my redmi k20 pro since updating with MIUI 12 security patch. the charging speed has decreased drastically, even while showing the fast charging symbol. So much that at times the charge percentage starts decreasing. Has anyone found a fix for it yet?
I am also facing the same issue on my Poco F1. It used to charge to 100% in less than two hours. Now after updating to MiUI 12, it takes more than 4 hours to reach 100. The difference is day and night and I am sure there is something wrong with the update.

Same issue with my Pocof1.
After updating to Miui12, it takes 4 hours to reach 100%.
If only I don't have several files here on my phone, I like to revert back to Miui11. Sigh. So hassle. Waiting for next update and hoping it will be fixed.
Same problem on my Mi11, supposed to be 45mins, but now 90mins with phone on and screen off.
Digging up this old thread.
I updated my A3 to MIUI 12 (android 11) 2 days ago and I can only have slow charging since then.
I use OEM wall adapter and cable, the same cable and adapter worked fine in MIUI 11 (android 10).
Do anyone has a clue to solve this issue?

Issue : OnePlus 8T Charging stops at 75%

I have had the phone for a couple of days now. charged it 4 times. all 4 times I charged it with the 65W warp charge 65 brick. I cant find any battery optimisation settings that can cause this issue. the Phone has some option that kicks in and stops the charging at 75% . i switched off both battery optimisation options just to check and still it didn't work. it wont charger even with the older dash or warp charger so its most likely a android 11 oxygen os optimisation that I cant find any option to turn off. pls HELP! it only charges to a 100% with the phone turned off.
You say this is only happening when the phone is turned on? It sounds like some type of battery protection mechanism designed to minimize battery wear while the phone is on. Some people like to keep their phone on a charger for hours at a time while using Hot Spot for example. Some say that this is bad for the battery??? I do this, but not using a charger, but rather using USB into a charging port on my laptop...which is a very slow charging option. My 8t arrives tomorrow so I will have to see if it is happening on mine. When using the rapid charger while the phone is off, when it hits 100% it will top charging...but if the phone is on it will "keep" charging which may be bad using this new high speed charging. Just a guess on my part. Many times there are settings available on these phones that are very hard to find. I would do a search in the settings app using whatever different words you can think of to see if there is something that can be adjusted.

yes I completely understand the implementation of this feature and its absolutely a great thing. its just that I m unable to find a switch to turn it off nor do I even find any mention of it in the battery optimisation options. there has to be a way to turn it off.

There is an "Optimized Charging" setting on mine. It's not adjustable...only on or off. Maybe that has something to do with your issues?
#TeamRMA
I don't have that issue with mines
Is there a message on the notification centre? I remember my device cut the charging at 80% saying that it will slowly charge to 100 in a few hours to protect battery life. I believe this is with the battery optimization turned on.
If there's nothing similar then try to go for a replacement or take it to OnePlus support.
Battery Optimization <> Charging Optimization.

Question Turbo Charge Question

I have never used any fast chargers or fast chargeable phones. My last phone was Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro and I would basically attach it to my laptop at night and let it charge overnight. On this device (Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus 5g/peux) with turbo charge the phone fills up very fast and I love it. However I want to know if the charger or the phone is capable of variable charging and stop pumping 67W once the device is full. Atm I stay on my toes while the phone charges so I can quickly unplug it. I want to know if its okay to let the phone stay plugged in as long as its for a little while after reaching 100%.

Hi, I checked using ampere app and it stopped charging quickly after reaching 100%
If you're like me who let's his phone charge over night you can enable the hidden optimized charging feature, it slows down your rate of charge depending on when u plug it in (it learns from your behaviour) but still makes sure ur phone is charged within the time that you'd need it
if you still need more charging tweaks i suggest using Advanced Charging Controller, with it you can change almost everything but it requires root access
edit: don't try to plug your phone into a laptop for charging unless you definitely need it because this huge of a battery is gonna take entire days to charge

I mean I charged my 4000mah battery using a battery bank. How do I enable the hidden charging feature? Why the hell is it hidden and why am I playing Indiana Jones in the lost city of miui?

Ah With a charging bank it's great,
Sadly I'm not 100% sure if the device has the feature, i can say that my older device did (it was a Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro)
(I can't tell you because I'm no longer using Miui...)
You can check if it has that
this is a tutorial on how to access it, ignore what the guy is talking about since you might not understand his language.
He is showing it for a different device but it should be the same for this one hopefully
also don't worry since you've bought a Xiaomi device you'll become an epic gamer now
Xiaomi has several inbuilt games like
Kernel Sources Hunter - This is a game where you have to track and hunt down kernel sources for the device because Xiaomi cannot bother to release kernel sources themselves so that we can get actual development started
