In my other cars it works fine so I know its my Kia but I don't have any idea how I can rectify this. Called the tech at Kia and he said they've not tested the note 7 and may never as the car is a few years old so It looks like I'm on my own here. On my 2013 Kia optima w/ navi I do not get media audio so only BT that works is the phone. It will show the first song sometimes on pandora (Streaming audio, NOT pandora app radio) but never will update after that. All audio always comes from phone. I can change songs from the stereo but that's it. Totally useless. Works fine in my other cars and my BT radio in my garage so it's a problem w/ my Kia but WTF?? My note 3 and a note 5 work just fine. Very disappointing.
Anyone else have this issue? Any suggested fixes?

Other than the usual going into the settings of both your Kia's radio and your new phone to remove both devices from the list of available devices and re-pair them both, not sure what else you can do? There appears to be a widespread issue with the Note 7's ability to maintain a solid bluetooth connection for a lot of folks out there including me. Hopefully its a software issue and not a hardware issue in which case Samsung should already be well aware of it and working on a resolution.
I am having the exact same problem with a 2013 Sonata Limited 2.0. Reset the phone and even swapped it out for another. It connects to my portable Bluetooth speakers with no issues. My M8 and M9 connect to my car just fine. I'm hoping some type of fix is available.

So I spoke w/ my kia service manager today and we had a talk. I told him all the steps i've gone through and also that i've tried two different kia/hyunais and it didn't work in either. He has started a ticket and has an in w/ the audio designers at Kia so he says. I originally thought it was MM that was the issue but my wife has an S5 w/ MM and it works fine. She has BT 4.0 and I have 4.2 I'm wondering if that is part of the issue.
So you tried two note 7s and they both did it? That was something I wanted to try.

Yes, I did and same problem persists. It almost seems like the Bluetooth profile on the phone is not backwards compatible.

The odd thing is it shows the first song in pandora on the stereo. I can also control forward but not play/pause from my stereo just no audio. Do you have the same behavior? Sso AVRCP is sort of working at least. I think you may be onto something about the BT profile even though it should be backward compatible.

Is it just Pandora or all media files playing back from your Music Library on the phone? It could be a Pandora thing. I have a 2015 Toyota Camry XSE V6 and my bluetooth works fine using my Note 7.
I tried spotify as well. Even waze only goes through phone speaker. No media audio option comes up in
In bluetooth.
So their first response to the service manager is below. How can 2013 MY have AVN 2.0 and by 2016 they're already at AVN 4.0 and basically saying FU to anyone w/ an "olde" car that is 3 years old.
To my knowledge, that platform is no longer tested (it is an AVN 2.0 and we are up to AVN 4.0 and developing AVN 5.0) however, advise would be for the customer to continue to update their phone, delete pairings and re-pair after they update their phone software. I can send this information to the Bluetooth team and see if they are able to duplicate anything on a vehicle however, it's hard to guarantee compatibility on older models with newer phones and software.
I would have to check and see if any later software is available however, sometimes a map update will give the customer the latest head unit software however, that is not covered under warranty."

I'm having the same problem on my brand new Kenwood radio. My note 4 works perfectly but the note 7 will only connect for calls no media
Sent from my SM-N930P using XDA-Developers mobile app
2013 Altima SL no issues with BT on Note 7 connecting and heard through car speakers. I use several podcast apps and never had a problem.
Different cars handle the 4.2 protocol differently obviously.
I did create a trouble ticket for those who would like to chime in .

Hmm...I'll have to try mine again. I've used it no problem on my Kenwood deck for calls. But I don't think I've even tried streaming audio yet.
Samsung's stance is it is my car. Despite the car working w/ the Note 3, Note 5 and S5. Everyone is passing the buck. This phone is about to be returned.

There's no firmware update for your car radio? Just curious if you hadn't gone that route yet. My parents had a similar issue on their Ford Focus.

Mine worked fine, tried it on the way to work. Both the regular BT streaming and the Pandora setting in the radio worked. Volume, change tracks etc. This is just a cheapie $100 Kenwood Excelon I bought earlier this year.

Nope, most up to date. Spoke to the Kia Bluetooth team and they said they have no plan to resolve.

And you have a note 7 correct? I'd be curious what model head unit you both have to compare the differences to see wtf is causing this.
Hello everyone,
I am using my Shield as a second laptop and everything works so far but the bluetooth mouse which has a known glitch.
I also use a Zagg Bluetooth Keyboard that works flawlessly.
Anyone who uses Bluetooth mouses know any ROM/Kernel that fix this lag?
Thanks a lot

Which OS version you running?
I would like to know this too as I am experiencing this issue too. From what I've read this may be a problem with Android M and and was fixed in N as per this post. If this is the issue I wonder if I can rip out the BT libs from LP?

Some mice have more issues than others so yuu can try different brands to see how well they work. Alternatively you can switch to a 5ghz band on your wifi and it will instantly resolve your problems.
Get Logitech. Best input devices ever.
Hi all, I have just paired my new pixel 2 to my Audi Q3 but am unable to get the phone directory/stored phone numbers to download. Is anyone else having similar issues, thanks Barry
Hi, no issues on my Mazda CX3, all sync'd ok.

No issues in a 2017 Ford Fusion might be an Audi thing

Did you make sure the respective Bluetooth profiles were enabled for the device? Sometimes you need to manually enable them. My FISCON for my MINI works just fine. But it does take some minutes for the contracts to download the first time...
Hi, using Apple Airpods with my Sony XZ with Android 8 Oreo
No problem with music but after few seconds of call (duration may vary) the BT connect and disconnect switching the audio between airpods and phone.
Tried with an old Sony Z3c with MM and they works perfectly either playing music or during call. Has anybody else experienced such problem and found a solution ? Thanks
Hi,
I got the same issue, just try with one airpod and it's going to work like a charm

Thanks for replying, I know this "workaround" and it is ok when you use the airpods mainly for calls. While running and listening music, whenever you receive a call, it is not so handy to unwear one of them and put in the case (otherwise it doesn't switch off), that's why I am looking for a real fix, if any.

Has anyone found a fix for this?
I recently bought a pair of AirPods and I encounter the same issue.
Tried to wireless cast on both my Toshiba and Hisense TVs, it tries to connect then reverts back to try and connect again, any ideas folks?
same problem here, do you solve it?

I have the same problem. I tried with POCO X3 - cant connect, then with Redmi Note 9 Pro and it works with no problem. So it seems that this is an issue with the phone. Also as we can see here, more people have problem with this.
This sucks as I used it a lot and wanted to continue using it.... I am on miui.eu
I can see the TV in the list on poco but when I try to connect - it dissapears.
mine works fine (samsung tv)

Mine is working fine with casting as well. Samsung tv. I'm on latest stock miui global rom.
