So a while back I accidentally scratched two of the lense on the back camera module while replacing a cracked back cover. I recently bought and replaced the module with one that looks fine.
Everything went well but now when I launch the stock camera app I just get a black screen like the app is glitched. I've fully factory reset my phone and also installed gcam and I can't get it to work. The front camera also won't pop up after this replacement because of the app being glitched.
My next course of action is to put the old camera module back when a new battery I bought gets here next week to see if I can at least get the app to work properly.
Any thoughts on what the problem might be? I'm suspecting the replacement camera module is bad which I'm hoping to confirm next week.

Hi all,
Got my new nexus s yesterday haven't used a lot yet but I already have 2 problems.
Yesterday I used the camera with flash light and everything worked fine.
Today I installed the nexus torch app, used it and the led light worked as intended so I switched it off.
After a while I went to use the app again but the led didn't light up so I thought it's an app problem, but when I used the camera app the led doesn't work either in photo or video mode (of course I have the option for the flash to be activated not automatic).
I tried to clear the camera app data, did a factory reset through the settings menu and another from the recovery menu but the results are the same.
Also whenever I try to change the camera to the front face one the camera app freezes and the phone pops up the message to terminate the application.
Is there any solution?
Depending on when you bought it, and if you're rooted/unlocked, I would take it back to SPrint, as it sounds like you've hosed your LED.

Ty all
i'm having a frustrating issue after replacing the screen on my sister's Moto G.
nothing is wrong with the new screen, everything is in good working condition there. however, neither the proximity sensor, ambient light sensor or accelerometer are working anymore. i don't understand why because as far as i can tell those components are attached to the motherboard and shouldn't have been affected by the replacement of the screen module. also, the front facing camera is not working either but that's my fault. when i put the phone back together i accidentally broke off that tiny lever you have to flip up to remove the camera in the first place. i guess the camera can't plug back in properly without it. so then i wonder if the missing front camera could be causing the other component issues?? that doesn't sound right to me but i thought i should mention it anyway. i have no idea how i'm going to fix the broken lever without replacing the whole motherboard...the screen alone was already $60. ugh
so my question would be does anyone know why these parts aren't working anymore, and how could i fix them? none of them destroy the phone's core functionality but i would like to get them working. i don't own an Android phone and i'm not really familiar with the OS, would a factory reset maybe get things working?
Hello guys
I opened the camera app and there are strange vertical lines going right to left like on the old tvs and even when i take a photo they are still visible. What can be the cause. Can this be caused by water or something? The story is i was heading home when a warer drop dropped on my screen like on the middle of the screen i have a screen protector and i cleaned the screen so i dont think that caused it .

Have you tried the usual like restarting the device? If so and you still have this issue try clearing the cache for the camera app via app manager in settings. If that still doesn't work try a factory reset.

Start the phone in safe mode and open Samsung test menu with *#0*# (if u can't open it u are probably running a custom ROM with no test menu support in it)
Try the camera test in there. If the problem is still there u have a faulty camera.
So my problem is a bit different but it is still a camera problem. So my camera started acting funny a while ago and mos of the time it wouldn't open at all and blocking the front cam from working as well. So i ordered a new camera module online thinking that was the culprit, as the old one made a rattling noise when opening the camera. At last it arrived today so i swapped the cameras only to find the same problem persisting. I have also tried different firmwares and custom roms but still nothing. Does anyone know a cause or a fix for this problem?
Sup Community,
I am keeping this short, so
My S8 is currently in a workshop and getting repaired. I got my father's old S6 edge, which was not repaired correctly. This means, the display was broken and we got it repaired. A few days after it the camera on the back stopped working - however everything else was fine. I installed a custom rom and my father used it without any issues. A few days ago, I got it as a replacement and installed a new custom rom.
Basically, I have this issue : The phone runs smooth and fine, except the back camera. But if it is not charging and obtains energy from the battery, it is a question of minutes until it crashes and bootloops until I plug in a charger and start it again. After I unplug it from the battery charger, the same starts from the beginning. At the first moment I thought it was a software related issue, but... I did install at least four different custom ROMs and a stock room with Odin without any changes. Could someone give me at least a hint, what my actual problem is? Thanks in advance!!
The Samsung Galaxy S6 edge appears to have a bad battery, maybe it got damaged if it got removed from the phone during screen replacement.
Back camera, I'm not sure how that went bad but could be from the drop and just suddenly decided to go bad a few days later, could either be loose connection from camera being plugged into the board or the rear camera needs to be replaced.

Thanks for your reply first of all. I searched online for same issues and found almost the same answer you wrote. Is there a possibility to repair both, battery and camera by myself?(YT Tut. + store for replacements or something similar)?
Hi folks,
few weeks ago I cracked my screen because my phone fell on the floor...
I finally decided to get it fixed in a phone store.. After they changed the screen I noticed that the edge sense didn't work proper.
For a second I thought, Well.. It's buggy and a restart will probably fix it but it didnt fix it. Once I turned edge sense off and again on under the settings the phone started to randomly do screenshots, turn on and off the flashlight and all kind of weird stuff. I looked like I would be pressing the edge sense all time time. So the other day I went to the shop again and told them whats wrong. They told me, no problem.. we will take a look. Turned out they damaged a edge sensor while replacing the screen, they ordered all sensors and replaced all. But even after replacing all sensors I still have the same issue with the phone doing what it wants once edge sense is turned on. Now the dude from the shop told me that its a software because he replaced the old sensors with newer/different sensors and the software doesn't recognize them right or something like that. They want me to go back to stock so they can upgrade / flash some update and this should fix it. Tbh, I dont feel like going back to stock, it just takes a lot of time since I am on Leedroid.
Dropbox link to a video..

Anyone had a similar issue? Is there a way to fix it somehow without going to back stock?
Many thanks in advice.
