3g/4g network

Hi. I bought One S in USA (T-mobile version, unblocked) and bring to Europe (Slovakia). Call and SMS works well but data network does not work. Could be the reason the phone is 4g and there is only 3g network in Slovakia? Is there any trick how to solve this? Thank you guys.

Are you sure your One S supports 4G (LTE) ? Never heard that yet. There are countries in which the 3G (UMTS/HSPA) standard is defined as 4G. very confusing...
Maybe you have to set up the APN preferences. You need the right settings for your carrier.

I also had this problem, click on names access points and click on your carrier then it should find your carrier and data connection.

Options>Mobile Network>Access Points and then click on the carrier you have.
When I did that my data connection started working. Even when It already had the carrier automatically listed.
English is not my native language sorry.

Well I don't use that menu, I use the one in settings > mobile networks > preferred network type
And i'm not sure what your disconnection issue is.

Where it says 'WCDMA Preferred' tap that, as it has the arrow, and the LTE/GSM option should be there.

I put LTE/GSM auto (PRL), But when I close the screen and reopen typing the code get: Unknown.............but at least is connecting with full signals but no 3G icon?

I would try using data and see what happens; you may need to reboot. Try that first.

After I put LTE/GSM and performed a reboot now I see TD-SDMA, GSM/WCDMA......??
I don't see data.......where can I find that?

You don't see anything for LTE/GSM?
And what i meant about using data is try to use your signal data, like in maps, the internet, etc, and see if it connects.

No results using data/signal for maps etc, displays error unable to connect, occasionally does get connected a for some time only.........OR on and off connectivity .....unstable.
With Color OS no issues, only when flashed to others like CM 11S or Madi.........

I was washing my dishes and it occurred to me that you said you had the chinese version: That doesn't have the bands that support LTE here in the states, so you are most likely wasting your time on that.
Additionally, the reason why the data probably works on the colorOs rom is cause the APNs are different, which will default to the 2/3G network. You many have to change your APN values in the other roms.

With my previous handset i use to get active data connection while on call, but with One Plus One its not available.
I am using the same SIM card, and i have read somewhere that this feature is by default provided the Network operators however the handset should be compatible.
Is there are way we can activate this?

This should be enabled by default. At least it was for me. You have to be on 3G or LTE, it does not work on EDGE.

I am on 3G, but i donot get data connection, infact i dont have H+ sign besides network bar..... (while on call, after the call is disconnected, i get data connection)
Please share the ROM, Kernel and Modem details.

No issues so far. I get LTE even when I am on a call.
I use Airtel 4G (Bangalore, India).

i have installed htc camera m9 with support 4K recording
an it now show 4K option
but cant get it to take pict or record et
im working on it
an if u take a look in framework folder there is no google.camera2.jar file that is needed to support 4K

I tried installing an app called Cinema FV 5 and there it showed the 4K option too, however it did not worked. Resolution an fps kept the same.
I hope Elephone fixes this soon, because it's a pity having such a good sensor and recording with such a low quality.

if u download p9000 img file an extract it u will see that that have google.camera2 installed an vowney dont

The "sim card" "Meo-Portugal" has rarely signal sometimes has a sign but not sufficient, since I kept a call, but is turned off by losing network. No 4G, no 3G and no calls, only emergency calls. It is in slot 1. What could be and how to solve?

are u using sim1 or sim2 ??
try have a look at ur APN settings if its the right APN settings u use
an go into settings an network an see what prefere is set to

I've tried the two slots, and gives us 2. The network settings are to tmn-Portugal. I do not know what to do...
I'm really unhappy ...

I did what you suggested me, esatava all set to the attached images and keeps not working.
But the strange thing is that yesterday when I tried the phone, everything seemed to work well, you put the SIM CARD in my old smartphone and works normally, but does not vowney.
Is there no solution ?!

I went to settings, APN, Edit access point. I changed the name to TMN and APN to internet.
It's all the same, yesterday all seemed ok until tested and called once.
I'm desperate. I do not want to throw in the trash € 300

I'm really disappointed. I think it should be defective smartphone. In my house I have 3G in some places, at work do not have any network (2G, 3G, 4G) only emergency calls.
And in most places this happens, that is, bought a smarphone that (at least in Portugal) is completely useless.
Or is there some way to match the equipment with the networks of Portugal?

Question 2G on A13

Can anyone who has already upgraded a Pixel 6a to A13 tell me if the "Allow 2G" option is still available in Settings-->Networks-->SIMs ?
Some people on twitter are saying that they cannot set 2G as a "preferred" network anymore, not sure what it implies.

The option is still here yes. However, you can't set 2G as the preferred network type.

Current situation is bizarre for me. I need 2G working for voice only. My carrier is switching 3G off, and I cannot have VoLTE working (despite the corresponding option being enabled and carrier saying that it should work). Currently, when I make a phone call, the 4G data connection gets disabled and voice travels over 3G or 2G. When the phone call is over, 4G data connection gets back on. Since 3G is being switched off, if 2G suddenly became totally unavailable, I simply couldn't make phone calls anymore.

I believe you can get a number with Google Voice, and call thru the app. I haven't used it in a while tho.

I think that probably depends on the carrier, because with my other carrier I have this options:

Any chance of automating this with tasker?
I used "Toggle Network Type" app on earlier android, but not it can't set 2G as preferred type anymore.
Edit: actually it was Automate app that I used, but neither it nor Toggle network type work.

Not sure if you have tried enabling this option in the SIM settings (something to do with the Tensor Security settings as Google deem 2G to be less secure.

I didn't, because I don't have it. I'm actually on a different phone and rom, and just trying to find a workaround, this is the closest thread to my problem that I found on xda.
