I bought the phone from Samsung and it is T-Mobile branded phone. It was shipped with August 1 1020 security update. I tried to update to September but unsuccessful. Any idea?

Can you please provide more details, btw did you tried SamMobile?
( Samsung firmware for the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G SM-N986U with product code TMB from USA (T-Mobile). This firmware has version number PDA N986USQU1ATI5 and CSC N986UOYN1ATI5. The operating system of this firmware is Android 10 , with build date Fri, 04 Sep 2020 13:13:22 +0000. Security patch date is 2020-09-01,)
https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/g...e/SM-N986U/TMB/download/N986USQU1ATI5/369104/
Thanks for your reply. I got it from Samsung.com. The phone is a T-Mobile branded phone. It was shipped with August 1 2020 security patch. I tried to manually update it but it keeps saying my Note 20 Ultra already has the latest version. I know many people out there updated their phones to September 1 2020 patch.

No it doesn't void warranty, and it's completely safe so long as you do it correctly, correct firmware for your device, do not disconnect during the process, use HOME_CSC to keep your data (upgrade), use CSC to wipe (clean install)

Never had to press Power to do it, the guide below says the same
Booting into Download Mode
First, shut down your Galaxy Note 20. Once off, hold down the volume up and volume down buttons, then connect the phone to a computer with a USB cable (the other end of the cable should already be plugged into your computer). Keep holding the two buttons and the phone will boot into download mode.

My way is how most do it , I've done it with my Note20 Ultra 5G lots of time , by powering off phone then holding volume up and down and power button all at the same time till download mode shows like in 2 seconds, Then after that i plug in usb.

To each their own right, both methods work, i can confirm @Venom0642 and @*Detection* both your methods work. I personally like the USB method.
@cuibap1 why are you creating a new thread for something that has been addressed multiple times over ? People are already on October patch, please avoid creating duplicate threads and read before you post. Here is a comprehensive update thread i suggest you go there and read.

Yep, hold all 3 from a powered off state, the logo appears, then it vibrates and reboots and shows the logo again
Works fine holding Vol up & Dn and connecting the USB cable

Hey guys,
I accidentally flashed the CF-autoroot for 5.0.2 (I forgot there is no root yet for 5.1.1) right after updating to 5.1.1. Now, I'm stuck on the Downloading screen with no access to recovery. When I tried flashing stock recovery(after converting from img to tar.md5) from the Stock tar.md5 it game a NAND Write Start FAIL. I can't flash the stock firmware (G920FXXU1AOCZ) either it gives me the same NAND error.
I have no idea what to do next. Any help will be appreciated. I'll probably head to a customer care center tomorrow if I can't figure this out by then. Please any and all ideas welcome.

Are you using Odin 3.10.6?
Exit from Download mode by pressing and hold both volume up and down button + home button + power button for a few seconds. After this you will exit download mode. Once screen turns off press and hold volume down + home button + power button. This will bring you to menu prior to download mode. Restart odin. Connect your device to your PC. Press volume up. Reflash your 5.1.1. Don't make the same mistake twice.
I have this same problem, I can only access download mode I CANNOT get into recovery. May I ask where I can download the 5.1.1 software from? I flashed from smart switch but now I am bricked smart switch does not pick up the device. My S6 is the varient mentioned here. Please, please, please someone help with a link. Thank you.

There is no 5.1.1 firmware yet for G920FXXU1AOCZ. If you have a link or can upload one I'd be very grateful. Also I can flash any 5.1.1 G920FXXU1AOCZ firmware right?

Based on the CSC (XME) you mentioned on your title you can try flashing this G920F 5.1.1 Malaysian ROM via Odin:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/49468/G920FXXU2BOFO_G920FOLB2BOFF_XME/
I am in the UK and I bought it from O2
Here you go UK O2 5.1.1:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/49735/G920FXXU2BOFJ_G920FTEF2BOF1_O2U/
I am in India bought it from Malaysia. My phone is XME-G920F. I was just able to flash another 5.1.1 ROM from another Asian region (XEF). Somehow that worked. Sadly now I have to fix region lock since I didnt make a call before leaving Malaysia.

Hi, I just recently got a UK S6. (SM-G920F) I'm not sure where to really begin other than when I go to try to enter download mode it goes to a screen that appears like the stock android recovery only everything is in Chinese I believe. (Yes I'm holding volume down, home button, and power button) But no download screen comes up. And I'm pretty sure its running a custom rom because of the boot animation when it powers up (says datuyo) and there's no option to download an ota update. All I'm trying to do is go back to fully stock (I'm in America on AT&T). Build number is KTU84P.G920FZCU1ANIF if that helps. Also below it it says "Custom build version" which is I9296.MHD.C.B-V3.0_0508. I"m not sure what this means, but that's my situation, ANY help would be appreciated.

My honor 8 suddenly went into a bootloop today. It is not rooted or anything. I've tried to go into recovery but this doesn't work. The only way to stop the bootloop is to force shutdown and quickly plug in the usb cable while holding volume down. When I've done this the phone is turned off (doesn't show the carging screen) and when I turn it back on it goes again into bootloop.

If this issue began over night there's a bright chance this was due to an OTA update. Was the phone rebranded?
Does the phone respond when you press volume up+ down + power button? Finally try removing your microSD card if you have one.

No the phone was not rebranded, it is an original honor 8 which I bought february last year. When I hold volume up + down + power the phone reboots, but continues in bootloop. The microSD is already removed because I'm using my old phone again with the microSD card.

Alright, so download the rollback package and the full firmware file for your model from here:
https://www.hihonor.com/uk/support/index.html
Then follow the guide from here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8/how-to/problem-frd-l09-t3596449
Only difference is use your backup phone to download and unzip those files into the SD card. Then put that SD Card into your phone and run the process.

So I had a rooted samsung galaxy s8+ with magisk on android noughat and I wanted to update it to oreo, so I updated it using Samsung Switch, but then my apps started to crash a lot and it seemed like it wasnt rooted anymore (all my root apps were not working and event magisk was saying that it was not rooted). So I made a factory reset, run TWRP and tried to run the magisk root again, but then i got a bootloop. After that i tried to run firmware which i found on pangu.in in odin (I basically just followed this video "How to Fix Boot Loop || Stuck on Samsung logo S8 plus Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus review" on YT) and than it frosed in samsung loading screen for about 15min and after that i hard reseted it and since than the phone is completly not doing anything. Is there any solution to this, or i just completly destroyed my phone? I tryied every possible key combinations, but neither of them is doing anything.
Have you tried holding Power + Volume Down for 10-15 (maybe more) seconds? simulates a battery removal. Worked for me when phone seemed unresponsive.

Btw. I realy dont know how, but few minutes ago I just randomly tried to turn it on and I managed to get into download mode (after about 1000 tries). Unfortunatelly the phone turned off again before I managed to ge to the computer and run Odin. But I might keep trying to boot it into download mode and this time be prepared to put a new firmware into it.

Sorry missed you can't get into recovery.
So I somehow managed to get into download mode and i wanted to flash new firmware, but it got stuck on sboot.bin.lz4 (apparently it was bcs of outdated odin), so i restarted it and since than everytime I try to charge it, it shows loading screen and I still cant do anything (go to recovery mode or download mode). When I unplug the charger it again turns off and I still cant do anything. This is really weird.
It would seem like your phone needs charging, low charge would seem consistent with it switching off when charger not connected.
Suggest leaving on charge for 60 to 90 minutes then try previously given advice.
Get latest Odin from XDA and official software from Sammobile
Hi Guys,
Sorry, too many posts today!
I want to wipe the cache partition but unable to access service mode on HK Note 20 Ultra.
I turn off the phone then press up and power keys simultaneously but it just boots up the phone without entering service mode.
Is there any other key combination or should I enable something on the phone to access it? Thanks.

Apparently since the September update the. 9860 can't access via button presses. ADB only.
Try plugging the phone to your computer first then do the buttons (volume up and power}. This works for me
