Hello dear XDA community,
today I observed a weird behaviour regarding the touchscreen sensitivity with my Poco F2 pro and I want to ask you if you can reproduce this faulty behaviour.
The problem occurred with the game "Super Oscar". It is like a copy of Super Mario, 2D platformer jump 'n' run. You can download the premium version for free in the playstore currently (scroll down to see it).
Now the problem is, if you make inputs on the touchscreen, e.g. running and then especially jumping, the buttons do not react fast enough.
For example doing the double jump is very hard to do and then accordingly it is too hard to reach a higher platform in the game.
With my Oneplus 6 there is no such issue with the touchscreen sensitivity. The buttons react lightning fast and doing a double jump and reaching highter plattforms is a piece of cake compared to the Poco F2 pro.
Can you please check if you can reproduce this behaviour with your device?
Any help or insights would be much appreciated.

Oh damn... I hope this is not a nonfixable hardware-issue. I´m currently shooting/preparing a video to illustrate the issue on the Poco F2 Pro and another video on the Oneplus 6 to show how it should be working as a comparison.
Stay tuned.
it is about the corners of the phone, I also noticed it in Minecraft, But I am wondering if it's not only MIUI issue. I think I had same issue on poco f1 before using customs
Did you try changing the settings under game mode? If the buttons are near the corners you can change that behavior in MIUI. I'm on Evolution X now, but I believe you go into the gaming app then tap near the top and go to advanced options? Per-app options? Anyway, there you can change palm and touch sensitivity.
Yes I also felt same and was wondering that no one is noticing. I play Pubg with 5 from fingers and often I find touch delay or my top two fingers not registering touch sometimes .
Same issue my clash of clans
I tapped the troop and the spell but they wont fall,
I went to the gaming app,
Boosted touch sensitivity because the preset was less than half,
I boosted the effects and it had a weird strange line distortion,
Still going to observe it
the problem i think frome Game turbo setting...you can enter in your game turbo setting--additional setting---chose your game and change sensitivity screen:

You are the GOAT :highfive:
It worked, I disabled the touch resistant area in the settings rachidcool77 pointed out down below and the buttons are much more responsive now.
Also I adjusted the sensitivity to repeated taps and the touch response.
The game/s work flawlessly now. I'm so glad this isn't a hardware issue.
What also worked was completely turning off the Game Turbo.

Thank you rachid for pointing the settings out with a picture
For the people who don't know where these settings are:
They can be found under "Security" (it's an app in the drawer), then scroll down to access "Game-Turbo".

Again, thank you I was already thinking about getting rid of this phone because of this. But since this seems to be a software-related thing, I'm so glad I didn't have to. Besides I've come to like this device a lot and it would have been difficult to get any other device with these specs in the same price range (almost impossible...lol).
Still, I hope there are no other "hidden flaws" with this device. And I really do hope the touch issues are resolved once and for all now with adjustment of the settings you pointed out.
I'm going to observe it for sure with other games/daily usage.
With MIUI I hated how the lockscreen was implemented. It would turn my red into pink and the themes were atrocious. Coming from OnePlus, and having to wait on ROMs, were definite downsides to the excellent hardware-to-price.
The Poco F2 Pro has definitely been a test of patience.

Yes I agree on that, the Poco F2 Pro with MIUI had/has its flaws especially compared to OnePlus' clean, fluid and easy-to-navigate Oxygen OS.
MIUI is behaving strangely sometimes and I don't like that.
What I like about it though, is the way they integrated haptic feedback into their UI, e.g. pressing buttons, adjusting sliders etc. is accompanied with vibration feedback. Enhances the user-experience a lot imho. Don't know about custom-roms since I haven't used any since years as I was quite satisfied with Oxygen OS.
Which rom are you currently rocking on your device?
Anyways I am happy that the custom-rom development took a kickstart now, it was about time. At least we have choice now
I will wait until the ROMs mature a bit more and then probably jump on the custom-rom-bandwagon.
I just have little respect on flashing another OS on my Poco right now since there seem to be some kind of special instructions need to be followed in order to not run into bootloop issues etc.

I never noticed the haptics since I've always turned them off. ?
I was the same with OnePlus other than Magisk and a custom kernel. Mostly for Swift's black theme and battery.
Right now I'm using Evolution X. It's definitely still early in development, but stable enough for me. I've always enjoyed themes so it's a nice mix between Pixel Experience and features. The only thing I miss is changing the icons in recent apps like in Oxygen and the floating window mode from MIUI. That was pretty useful for Genshin Impact.
Good evening, I recently bought the little f2 pro as I love video games and as an asphalt 9 player I am experiencing numerous problems with the touch. I looked at guides on the net and going to change the settings of the video game turbo for each app and increasing the sensitivity to the corners the situation did not improve. I am really disappointed and would like to know if they are trying to fix the problem.
The problem is that I play in a top 10 club of asphalt 9 and the phone sometimes doesn't hit the brake so you can imagine .. If there is a solution please help me, I find myself in trouble. Even if there is a custom rom that does not have these problems, I would be grateful if you would let me know, since even adjusting the single settings in turbo video games does not change anything. Thanks

So you did adjust the slider of the touch resistant area to "none" right?
Furthermore did you adjust the "touch response" bar to full and "sensitivity to repeated taps" to zero?
And finally, if that doesnt work, try to turn of game turbo completely.

I had the same issue. I tried the game turbo fix and it worked. But there is another touch issue. On keyboard when I type some letters near the edges don't feel much responsive (letter P, Q and space) letters near the edge of screen. Game turbo fix on keyboard is not working. Can someone confirm this issue or I'm the only one?

I can confirm that typing is not as fluid as on my previous Oneplus 6.
When typing (I'm using Gboard), I accidentially hit many wrong letters, even though I am being extra careful. This making me mad sometimes.
A solution is to resize keyboard like this.(check photo I use Microsoft SwiftKey keyboard) . But that's not a permanent solution.. They have to fix it. I hope this problem will go away with a custom rom but I don't like to use custom rom yet

+1 on ThumbKeyboard. Works great on the SGT, especially in landscape. With arrow keys and numbers in the middle.
Just wish text input was a bit faster.. it seems to lag a bit behind the stock keyboard and swype.
Thumb Keyboard has an amazingly good layout, but it's still got some major bugs. Most notably, it will be hell on your battery if you do much typing -- at least on my tab, I get alerts as it seems to consume around 75% of the CPU continuously while active.

Hi, I'm the author of Thumb Keyboard and I can say that the performance has my prior attention. In the last update I could reduce the cpu load with 24%.
If there are suggestions, bug reports or requests please let me know. The keyboard is "relatively" new and I'm actively working on it to make it a perfect keyboard.
Thanks

What do you think of the last update. I agree it is a tid more slow than the Samsung keyboard, but it is now completely in par with the standard Froyo keyboard. (BTW I'm the developer of the keyboard and like as much input as possible)
I purchased your keyboard but no longer use it due to the performance issues. Plus, I think it was interfering with a PayPal website. May be a coincidence, but I tried the page 3 or 4 times and particular fields would cause the browser to crash out. This is a card payment screen so bad for my customers! I run the same page with the stock keyboard and the fields work fine. It was fields with drop-downs and or default values in e.g. MM / YYYY.
Keep improving it and I will come back. It has the best potential.

Did you try the latest version? Performance is better with that one. Nevertheless I'm continuing to improve it.
As for the field problem can you give a pointer to a page on which this occurs? That would be great. Problems are there to be solved.
I will do a bit more testing on the latest version of the keyboard to confirm it was actually the keyboard and not something else. But the page is a virtual terminal screen in PayPal which you probably can't access. I could maybe pull down the html. Leave it with me.

I appreciate you following up on the forums, but I'm sorry to tell you that your latest version still has major CPU consumption issues. Tested on a T-Mobile Galaxy Tab (stock firmware), Thumb Keyboard 2.5 (Tablet 7" - Layout 2), Watchdog Lite for CPU tracking and alarms:
Thumb Keyboard successfully typed a paragraph in portrait mode without setting off an alarm. I switched to landscape, and got about two lines in before I got an alarm buzz. CPU usage was about 78%.
I went back to portrait mode to continue testing and check on settings. While checking which layout I was in, I got another alert -- CPU at 55%.
I tried going back and typing some more in portrait. Got a third alert, 54%, in less than a line.
Additional bugs/wishlist features:
The word prediction doesn't seem to include the special characters after a word that Smart Keyboard Pro does (as an example, if I type "exter" and complete to "external" in Smart Keyboard Pro, the completion bar shows the options of "! ? , @ _", the last of which is quite valuable when I am trying to type in "external_sd", which is something I do a fair amount.
As a followup to that, the underscore is in an odd spot even on the main keyboard: shift-"&", in the numeric/symbol mode, and not available on the main keyboard even in Layout 2, despite the fact that you don't have any shift/tap/longpress options for "-" and "@" at all. I'd suggest moving "_" to shift+"-" in both main and numeric pads, switching out the multiplication symbol to shift-"&". Actually, a lot of the symbolic shifted layout struck me as a little odd and could probably be rethought, but I'd have to take more time looking at it than I've got right now to give real suggestions (multiplication on shift-* might be more logical, given how a * b is also used for multiplication, but then you want some place obvious to put the tilde, which is more commonly used).
Amusingly, I've been sitting here typing this in portrait mode, with a few additional keystrokes to verify the exact spots while typing, and have gotten a few more alerts about CPU use. I've barely added one line, and two of the alerts have come *after* I'd stopped typing there and was just typing here. I just swapped back to see what the usage was of Thumb Keyboard, and it was 86%, despite not having typed anything in over a minute. Leaving the application where I had the keyboard up causes the CPU usage to disappear, fortunately, but you chew up a *lot* of power while you're active, and I use the keyboard quite a bit. Smart Keyboard Pro isn't quite as nice in layout, but I just tested the same paragraph in Smart Keyboard Pro, and upon swapping back to Watchdog to check, it had been consuming only 7% CPU.
Hope you get it all fixed. Please keep us posted.
Nope. Not just your keyboard. Got it to happen on the stock keyboard after a couple of attempts. Best just to focus on the performance. Cheers
Thanks for your feedback. I will look at it. There may be a chance though that I don't take up the competition with smartkeyboard in this respect. To get a perfect score on watchdog I will have to implement some native code instead of java interpreter code. Maybe it will pay off maybe not. Right now usability is my main focus. And I don't want the price to be too high.
Nevertheless processing delegation will be considered and I will continue to optimize the code.
Btw the dual core architecture would be perfect for these kind of applications.
Thanks appelflap. On the usability front does the portrait mode also allow the up down left right navigaion keys to be always present on the bottom? This floating pin cushin thing on the gtab is driving me crazy.

FYI: I found the culprit. It was indeed a little leak in the code. I managed to get the cpu load down to 5%. Will post a update in the upcoming days.

Among the listed improvements, I saw steam rise from the vents where your first safe house is located when this this was added (not sure it was there before though).
This will also affect the resolution which won't change much, just the button layout which you can also adjust in the option menu.
I've also encountered slowdowns during cutscenes and a bit of stutter but nothing major.
Also when I installed this, I had no original .set file located in the folder. So I just dragged it there anyway.
Lag Fix
A user gave me an advice on how to combat the lag when adding the file above or lagginess in general:
"When you have successfully installed the game. Plug your phone to the computer go in to the "audio" folder. Here you have to arange the files from biggest to smallest. Then delete all the files from "CHAT.nfx" down to "END.nfx". It's a totall of 11 files. What this does is that it delete all the radio channels but all the sound FX in the game will stay the same. I have tried it out and after I did it the game runs smoothly".

erm tegra 2 users already get all those effects dont we ? I would much rather have a frame rate fix. I expected the game to atleast run at a constant 30fps on our hardware. I constantly notice the slowdowns... i guess maybe pc games have spoiled me but has anyone else been annoyed by it.
ps. i think first update in market renders this mod pointless

looks like its working because I see lighting effects on cars and streetlights now. It doesn't look like the buildings have all the lighting effects as in the screenshot, but I have nothing to compare it to really. Thanks for the tip, very easy to do.
Only one problem though, when you're watching a cutscene or looking at the map the skip button is in the middle of the screen. No big deal though.
That's weird then, i definitely have all the effects pictured in the comparisons (flares from lights, rain, smoke etc.) I'm not sure what version you guys/i am using but i will post some pics tonight. Maybe this explains my poor 20-30fps performance.
I'm currently using the market version. Supposedly it's been ripped from the xpleria play.
maybe try go to options to restore controllers to default? iirc mine wasnt at the middle of the screen. I hope later there are some ways to improve the graphic texture, that would be nice

You can rearrange it on the controls settings.
I have GTA from the market and updated it yesterday - i tried this file, but did not notice any significant (I say it was the same) improvement over the standard .set file (only controls were messed up).
The game looks amazing with the file. Maybe you just didnt make note of what it looked like prior, cause mine looks way, way better.
Tried again - still nothing - and just in case I went through some comparison shots - rain effects, headlights and lightning effects were there for me even with the standard file... maybe I'm missing something.

Many of you who have a Windows Mobile past like me, might have instantly recognized the thin colorful line(s) in the above image. And for the new Android generation, introducing Energy Bar - a pulsating Battery indicator!
Energy Bar puts a thin line on top of your Status Bar whose length corresponds to your device's current Battery level.
Got a full charge? The line will cover the whole width of your screen.
Battery depleting? So will the length of Energy Bar.
After several iterations (thank you for the feedback, early testers), the App is now feature packed:
Energy Bar can be configured from a width of 1 pixel to cover the entire status bar
Energy Bar puts almost 0% load on CPU, as it wakes up only to reflect any change in battery level
Energy Bar's origin can be configured as left/center/right
Energy Bar can hide on fullscreen content (apps, videos, images, games etc)
Energy Bar can be configured to change colors automatically depending on the live battery level
Energy Bar could have a mono color/multiple color segments/gradient
You can literally assign any color in the world for your favorite configuration
Energy Bar as a cool pulsating animation whenever a power source is plugged into your device
There is something about visual over numbers that keeps you and your device's battery level in sync with just a glance. You may find it intuitive/effective/stylish way to read the battery level, let me know what you think

It looks great, my only grips is that the bar is vey uneven around the curve edges. I'm super OCD about these things though.
it looks good, but careful, it might burned-in.
for example the left part, assuming it's full bar, the area between 0-20% might stay the same at all times, which could lead to burn in.

for example the left part, assuming it's full bar, the area between 0-20% might stay the same at all times, which could lead to burn in.

Thanks! And yes, there is always that possibility. Hopefully switching up the color intensity or even the color itself from settings and changing the 'origin of the bar' will be helpful. I will look into if there is anything I can add/change to avoid any potential burn ins.

if OLED can't get burn in, i will definitely use this, it just looks great!
maybe you can look to Samsung or Google how they handle burn in?
because as you know, even signal icon or battery icon can get burn in over time.

Hi! Thanks for trying. Could you please send me screenshots (also photos of the phone) indicating the unevenness? I don't have the physical device, if there is enough information, I may be able to fix it.

Sure! Here are a few shots of what I mean. What mainly bugged me is that there isn't the same amount of space from the edge of the screen in areas of the curve, some pixellation, and how it curves inward at the bottom of the status bar (which is what I think may be a source of the unevenness). I don't know if these are possible to fix, but thanks anyway!
Sorry for being so picky, I hope this helps.

I agree, if the bar tapered off just at the bottom of the status bar it'd be great. At full thickness it still sticks under buy a bit.
Also @jagen2 what are the "donation" amounts? There's no currency listed in the unlock page...

Hey Guys! The pixelation I am afraid is not fixable without some performance cost. Now about the uneven thickness, I am not quite sure if I understand what you mean.
The Bar curves along the physical curve to meet at a sharp point where the phone's physical curve ends, so naturally the distance between the physical curve and Energy Bar's curve will keep on reducing to meet a sharp point.
I did consider making the curve end at the bottom of status bar precisely, but it didn't look 'good', moreover, it made more sense to curve Energy Bar and take it as far as where the physical curve seem to end.

Please click one of the options, a pop-up from Google Play will appear which will list the price in your local currency.
UPDATE: What's new?
EB_CD_1.2_BETA:
* Adjusted the curve at left corner by 1 pixel, because every pixel matters!
* Fixed issues with 'Status Bar' mode - portrait to landscape switching/auto-hides.
EB_CD_1.2.1_BETA:
* Minor Bug fixes
Hey Guys! If you try the App, please leave a review on Google Play Store, it will be really helpful, thanks!
Paid for the unlock cuz I love the gradient effect, everything looks great.
Had an idea for a charging animation though.
So when the bar comes in and hits the end of the battery level maybe make one it so the bar travels thoughout the entire bar (as a little "blip") twords 0%, cuz that would help with the burn in since it'll add a little animation to the lower end (under 50%).
Cuz I know I for one never let my battery drop under 20% so that bit of the bar is always there.
Also, could you make the background transparent? Samsung sets some apps with a white status bar which turns the text grey and unreadable
Hey, this looks great. I wonder why you didn't release it for S7 Edge (and maybe S6 Edge) also. Is there a technical reason or didn't it come to your mind?
About S7 Edge ?
It's a shame not to give the S7 Edge, after all tb has curved screen!
This is really cool. Any chance of a note 8 compatible one as the note 8 curves differently?

It works on every phone, not only Samsung, with or without curved display. That's an overlay with rounded corners.

Very nice app (literally)!
However, when I first read the xda news, I saw pulsating as an option. But after I installed the app, I can't seem to find the pulsating option.
Maybe we have a different understanding of the word.
I really wish it does pulsate or twinkles or even dims and brighten up in circulation. Hope you can understand what I'm saying. As this will help with the burn in problem too.
@jagan2
Edit: I see now, pulsating is an animation when charging. But what I'm suggesting is that the whole bar pulsates, and not necessarily only when charging, can have it on all the time, to help with burn in.

I guess it does, but the author has locked it in Google Play on S8,S9, Note 8.
Hi everyone!
I just got my Oneplus 6 yesterday and I couldn't be happier. It feels and looks amazing!
I do have one issue: Two of the games I play do not properly support the aspect ratio of our OP6, so things are cut at the top and at the bottom and some elements look larger than they actually are. There is a function under display for "fullscreen apps" but unfortunately it does not fix the issue. I understand that the Oneplus 5T has a function called "compatibility mode" that adds black bars to the apps' most common aspect ratio (16:9), but I have not been able to find it in OxygenOS 5.1.8 in the OP6
Is there any way to get that option back? If not, do you think it is something worth requesting in the support forums? Have you had this same issue and found another way to solve it?
I'd appreciate any input you can offer!
Have a nice day
+1

What is it for:
Use a computer-mouse-like cursor/pointer to control big smartphones like the Note series effortlessly with one hand. The perfect app for power users that make extensive use of swipe gestures for navigation, glide typing keyboards etc. Check out the Imgur album for short videos clips!
How-to:
Swipe over a screen edge to start Reachability Cursor. If you hold your phone with your right hand, use the right screen edge. Drag the tracker to move the cursor and tap it to click. The cursor disappears automatically when you don’t need it anymore.
What is the monetization model:
Freemium. You can use the core app for free without any ads and purchase the PRO version when you need the advanced features.

Changelog
1.1.2:
- minor bug fixes
1.1.1:
Changes:
- decreased app startup time
Bug fixes:
- for rare app startup ANRs
- for unexpected negative touchscreen coordinates
1.1.0:
Implemented feature requests:
- settings to disable one swipe pad
- gesture trail color setting
Bug fixes:
- invisible trail colors crashed the app (duh!)
- potential fix for rare ANRs on launch
- diagnostic code for non-reproducible bugs
nice, a fresh concept. looking forward to links to test.
Edit : Downloaded and tested from play store. Working fine but like many apps its accessibility feature too has tab selection page bug (tab selection page changes from minimal to text only mode in chrome). Apart from this working fine on Mi A1 (RR 8.1). Thanks for this app, now waiting patiently for pro features.

I think this is a Chrome feature and not a bug . It looks like Chrome enables this "feature" when it detects at least one active Accessibility Service. I found a Chrome flag for this but it's disabled by default and doesn't change anything .
BTW: You probably already know this but you can reveal the old overview by swiping down the omni-box/url-box.

Can you give a hint how did you inject touch event onto other apps without system privileges?
Is it accessibility API?

Does this version include the fix for incompatibilities with triple tap magnification, or will that be in a future release?
The application is very cool. Price for a pro unfortunately too high...

Hey OP I really like your app. I have two questions.
1. Is there any way to make your app play nice with Samsung One Hand mode? I have an S7 on Oreo and when I triple tap home to activate one hand mode it's disabled (which you obviously know because there's a pop-up). Would privileged mode make both of them work together?
2. Is there any way you could adjust the travel of the cursor? In my most comfortable hand position I still can't quite reach the opposite top corner - maybe an accelerating cursor or a logarithmic travel curve? I have no idea how you would implement it to be honest but it would be a cool pro feature. Here's a gif showing what I mean.

great app, works like a charm, just wished pro version is little less expensive
We covered this app on the Portal, if you want to add this link into your OP: https://www.xda-developers.com/use-tall-android-phone-one-handed/
Is it possible to make this work with the Blackberry Keyone keyboard?
Looks quite useful, thank you for developing it. Bought the pro version to support you.

Sorry, for the delayed respone folks. I was very busy this week and decided to invest my spare into bug fixes (successfully yaaay ). If nothing unforseen happens, I plan to focus exclusively on this app for the next weeks.

1. The privileged mode will help as long as you don't use both actively at once (revealing the cursor in one-handed mode). TBH, Samsung's one-handed mode + accessibility services with the permission to perform gestures don't work together. This part of the system is just broken. Activating the one-handed mode leads to the described bug and activating an accessibility service like this while one-handed mode is active will screw with your touchscreen coordinates until you turn off the display.
2. You can adjust the speed/sensitivity etc. by changing the size of the cursor area & tracker area in the PRO version.
Main Screen -> Settings -> Behavior -> Cursor & Tracker Area
What you want to do is basically:
make the tracker area as big as possible but easily accessible for your thumb.
resize the cursor area to cover up the hard to reach part of the display but keep it as small as possible
Think about the tracker area as a smaller mirrored version of the cursor area. E.g. Decreasing the tracker area will speed up the cursor. I really have to find a better explanation for these things because it's indeed a little bit hard to understand.

I understand that the price seems pretty high for just a pointer and I already reduced it a little bit this week but I have my reasons for the price. Is there an important feature that makes the free version unusable for you?
