OK guys I'm fairly new to the whole huawei Google thing and have tried to search for info but using tapatalk isn't working, I'm basically trying to find the latest and easiest way to sideload Google services onto my ELS-NX9 p40 pro 5g
I first got the phone a few days ago and it automatically updated to this firmware, is that going to hinder the sideload and would I need to downgrade, if so how?
Thanks for any info

I have an unlocked boot loader, and am rooted. When I check for OTA updates I get this message. I don't think this should be the case. The error message pops up immediately, indicating that it's not even trying to contact the update server.

Could you say which one ? I've left the OTA Updates (or similar name) service enabled, most of the other Moto services I've disabled via Titanium, and I've got the same error. Guessing it needs another one to perform the checks.
Couldn't figure out which one. I disabled auto hibernate, did a rest and confirmed it was something I hibernated. No time yet to experiment and figure out which one. If you get a chance do post back here.

I've had my Mate 9 since January 17 and generally no problems (apart from the one I'm about to describe).
I can't seem to get access to to the screen that shows which carriers are available. I can press the the appropriate link 'mobile networks' (see screen shot) but nothing happens apart from the carrier name flashing briefly at the top of the screen.
This is the second time this has happened in the past few months. The first time, the only way I solved it was by hard resetting the phone. I don't really want to have to do that unless I have to.
Anyone have any suggestions on what I might try?
Cheers

Have you updated since January?
Yes I have. All latest updates as available for UK spec phone.

Actually, I think I solved my own problem! The latest b190 firmware after installing, gave me access to the the carrier screen. Not sure whether b190 actually fixed the glitch, or whether the process of upgrading the OS has temporarily fixed the problem? We'll see! ☺

Since the app to install Google is malware I wouldn't trust anything that is installed by it. GMS core services are supposed to be system apps not user space apps so these Google APK files this app is installing are NOT legit Google apps. Since Huawei is providing the unlock code for the mate 30, do it the right way and get the real gapps, not this hacked Chinese bull****
better wait for better options. im currently using mate 20 pro. and interested in upgrading to mate 30 pro.. waiting only on the gms issue and work around.
Seems the door to install Google apps may have been closed today.

No need for Gapps. Use the App center to install Play store and then rest download from there. GMS is preinstalled automatically

So far no. For some apps you have to manually enable notification option otherwise you won't receive notifications. If your facing issue with YouTube vanced make sure you turn off battery optimization and auto start up vanced micro g
