Note 20 Ultra exynos UK version stuck in HDPSA (H/H+) with no signal - Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra Questions & Answers

This happened very often, when mobile signal is weak the phone will stuck in HDPSA (H/H+) with no internet and finally lose its entire signal, even later moved to a better signal area. I have missed a lot phone calls / messages when this happens, have 3 different brand new Note 20 ultra replaced by warranty all have this problem. Can confirm this is not network or SIM card related as when swap the SIM back to Note 10 plus it is just working fine as it should be (3 days while waiting for replacement using the same SIM living in the same area). Put the phone into flight mode and turn it back can solve the problem however the difficult thing is you won't know when this will happen and for the price tag, it seems it should be this kind of problem with it.
This issue seems also with S20 release too, for years the issue is still there, anyone have the same issue or can help?

Hi Thanks for the recommendation so dose that mean to use this tool to manually force the phone to stay on a certain type of band? (eg not using HSDPA?) . I was thinking this would be fully automatic as it is a basic function of a mobile phone
I've installed and will give it a try next time the signal is lost.

Yes you can force the phone to use a certain band, and yes the phone should be doing this automatically but you can use this as a workaround and maybe a future update will solve the problem for you

OnePlus One and Samsung Galaxy S7 loses reception randomly

Hi,
I initially started with a OnePlus One and it came to a point where I would lose reception (Both data and mobile) maybe once an hour. The only fix was to restart the phone. I got fed up with it so I ended up getting a new phone, the Samsung Galaxy S7. It's been 3 days and I haven't found any problems, however, this morning I found my phone to have no reception. I restarted it and it started working again.
Could this be a SIM card problem? WiFi works fine.
Thanks
Not sure about the OPO but i had this happen to me where i lost reception for no more than 30s.
For you to restart the phone to get a reception is news to me and honestly have no idea.
I don't know how easy it is for you but with my operator it is very easy to just pick up a new sim card and ether have the shop to register the new card or do it by myself online. If the card is the same as the one you used with the OPO a new card would be the first thing to test. I have heard of lost reception problems were a sim card has been the culprit.

Is it the same SIM card from both phones?
Something has to be the same between them, either the SIM, or if it is a different SIM, then your location / surroundings / interference

Same SIM card. My location and surroundings don't affect when I lose reception. It just seems to be random. Both me and my girlfriend have the same carrier (Kodoo). I'd be sitting by my desk for a couple hours and have full bars and suddenly lose reception. Then restart my phone and I get reception back.

I'd request a SIM replacement, see if that fixes it, unlikely to be the phone if you have two with the same problem using the same SIM

Poco X3 NFC loose signal and needs restart

Hallo all!
I recently bought for my wife poco X3 nfc and we have this issue. At random times although it shows it has signal it doesn't and she cannot make or receive calls. It needs to be restarted and then it's ok. The signal from our provider is fine when this happens because at the same time my signal is fine. I replaced the sim card with a new one but the issue still exists. Any thoughts on that please?

I think this is a problem when the phone is connected to the LTE network. Try to force your phone to use only a 3G network and see if the problem continues.
In the global Xiaomi forum there are many people complaining about problems related to the LTe connection
This phone looks like it has a lot of bugs
Well that is no solution but man that we force our phone on 3g..at the age of 4g and 5g phones..I had the same issue and only after restart yesterday did it get fine just hoping that it does not come back again
This problem happened on my phone right now. I realized that the cell phone has lost the SIM Card signal several times and now the cell phone has a Sim Card signal but does not make or receive a call. In addition to the problem of receiving and originating calls, it is also not connecting to the data network. I do not know what happened. This problem had never happened and even restarting the phone the problem was not solved.
Note: I'm inside my company's office. Other business friends use SIM cards from the same provider and are not experiencing this problem.
I don't know if it has something to do with the signal level of the provider.
Right now the phone is losing and recovering the SIM card signal for many times and is not connecting to the data network.
First of all thanks for the reply!
I will give it a try with your solution. Do you think it is a software or a hardware problem? I am asking this because if it is hardware, i cannot bare the fact of having a phone at 2021 with 3g as a solution and i will turn it back.

Man that sucks too I'll just try calling someone randomly to check if the bug is there or is not..further than that also the increased smoothness of the UI after restart vanishes after some days..why is that so..sd732g behaving like 660

Question SAMSUNG S22 ULTRA

Hello,
i had small software update August 29,
Galaxy S22 Ultra (SM-S908B),
since then i keep loosing mobile data and wifi signal.
I got new Sim card and I did factory reset, but issues are still here. Turning off/on airplane mode or restarting the phone doesn't help. I have normal data like 5 min and then it just freeze all signal reception . I live in the city with great signal coverage. What should I do?
But what's the coverage like where you live? Does it get better as you move around? If the coverage is good then contact Samsung support so they can maybe check the phone further

Coverage is great here. I took out my sim card today and was only connected to wifi, connection is better.
With inserted sim both wifi and mobile data reception is awful.
I was thinking to switch to eSim..
I recommend that you contact Samsung support as your phone is under warranty for 1 year. They are very good at diagnosing problems.
Hi, you mean 5G coverage? I've read that 5G antenna failure is known to happen in this phone, so you should bring the phone to Samsung so they can replace it, specially if you are under warranty. I don't see why you see a relation between the SIM and the coverage, probably it has more to do with the status of the antenna.
The problem is with both data connection, mobile and wifi.. I tried everything coz I want to avoid sending my new phone to service..

Samsung has an 800 support number you can contact 1st and they will try and diagnose your issue before sending it in. I've found they are pretty good at diagnosing issues over the phone.

Well I notice that if I take out Sim card from my phone that wifi has weak but stable connection.. With inserted sim card both wifi and mobile data connection are super weak and unstable. So basically I have this expensive with no possibility to use for normal calls
It's quite the same problem for me actually on my S908B which is on the latest September update (AVI3)
I live in a quite big city in France and my signal is quite bad, like 1 or 2 signal bars on 4G+ (i desactivate 5G as it drain too much the battery in my opinion).
Sometimes i feel like Wifi signal struggle as well at home... i don't know where this is coming from, but it's annoying me. I didn"t pay attention on when it's started to get bad signal, but it's been a while now i think

Question Pixel 7 Pro losing cellular connection and unable to reconnect

I live in Boston metro area with abundant LTE/5G coverage, but drive through two nearly dead zones, each of them lasts just a few seconds. My previous phone would not stop YouTube playback going through those areas. My Pixel 7 Pro loses connection for ~5 minutes completely and then reconnects via EDGE even though strong 5G is available. I have to toggle the airplane mode for it to connect to the correct network.
I'm on Mint/T-Mobile and this has been happening every day. Is it a software bug or is my Pixel defective? Thanks for any ideas, I still have a week to decide if I should return it
I used to have this same exact issue with my pixel 6 pro and wouldn't be fixed no matter what I did. I traded it in for my p7p and haven't had that issue since. You should replace it while you can and hopefully it won't happen again
I have the same problem. Whenever there's a slight interruption of service the Pixel can't reconnect for minutes. I have to enable and disable airplane mode a couple times.
Bonus, if I just leave it it disconnects from the network randomly. I miss A LOT of calls. And people tell me that the calls take a long time to connect either way.
I'll be returning it if it doesn't get an update in a week or so.

I don't know if this will help, but...
I believe EDGE uses 2G. Maybe turn off "Allow 2G" in Settings>Network & internet>Sims>Allow 2G. Hopefully this will stop it from connecting to EDGE and instead connect back to your strong 5G or LTE.
Thanks, I'll give it a shot.
It still takes a long time before it connects to the 2G network and all I see is an exclamation mark next to zero bars.
If you have taken the .031 update, which fixed that issue for me, then it's possible you may have a defective unit. I have had zero issues with signal handoff and I'm even taxing the modem even more by running dual SIM in DSDS mode. I have been incredibly happy with this device's reception. I would even say it's been better than my OnePlus 9 with the X60 modem as 5G standby drained my battery super fast, about 1.6%/hr in a high signal area, compared to half that on my 7 Pro with dual SIM active.
The system is up to date. Not sure what else I can do. I'm not interested in installing unstable nightly updates.

I got my phone on release day and there was an update waiting to go to TD1A.220804.031. Until I took that update I was seeing that ! every 10 minutes or so. It was pretty bad. Haven't seen it since unless I'm switching my SIMs around.

Oh I'm on the beta as Android Auto wouldn't work on that one. It got better after I reset Carrier Services but it still has issues.
I'm losing calls, they just don't connect, even on 4G LTE with full bars. A friend has the same thing. These things are not ok.

I'm on the beta as well and still having no connectivity problems so I guess I should consider myself lucky. The worst I have is some outsized drain when I have a weak signal but it's still not terrible (about 2.2%/hr in my partner's basement).

This issue happens to me from time to time too. Weird but mine shipped with .031 (picked up on 10/21 at best buy). But I guess it was worse before that.
Were you able to fix this? I have the same issue, the phone is just unusable. Such a shame as I really like the device...
I came from a OnePlus 8 Pro (what a great phone BTW), and found the Pixel 6 Pro had worse connectivity. The Pixel 7 Pro seems to have fixed all that and some bluetooth issues I was having with certain headsets on the Pixel 6 Pro.
One trick on any modern 5G phone -- if you are having issues -- the switching between 5G, 5G UC, and LTE can be disruptive. If this is constantly happening just switch it to LTE, chances are you'll get better reception and at the same or even faster speeds.
For example, a Six Flags a few weeks ago, 5G was constant problems while forcing LTE worked fine 100% of the time.
I've tried switching off 5g, switching off 2g, switched off adaptive connectivity...no results, still useless

How about your APN settings? Have you tried a network reset? If none of those things helps you may have a defective phone! It can happen with any brand.

Yes, tried resetting the APN as well, also swapped esim and sim to another phone and works flawlessly...it may be a defective unit but there are many users complaining so there has to be a lot of defective units...

Well, I am not using an esim with a psim. Only a psim here and running on Mint (T-Mobile) and I have zero issues. Either some setting, or conflicting network settings between the two sims...OR a defective phone is your issue. I would bet dimes-to-dollars that it is NOT the phone. YMMV
Hmm happy to see i am not alone...... I have already post on this forum for this same pb.
I am full 4G....i try to make a call, instantly when i push call button, lose connection....must wait and maybe 4G and more in EDGE.
When i am in 4G impossible to call or receive....
So i have a phone with impossible to call or receive.......
SO NICE ????
For me, i am sure is the last F/W (31) who suck.
Why ?
Because, my phone work, after upate (31) just after reboot must wait 7 min to have network...never before....
SO last week end, i will downgrade to first F/W (A2)
Problem is solved for me.
I have locked all automatic update in developper menu.
Sometimes i have notification for update, but i don't care..........
Incredible but work for me, i think you must try...i don't see another solution for this ****ing problem
I had use the official tool : https://flash.android.com/
Sounds like a work around, how do you downgrade?

I have problems with the mobile reception on my S22 Ultra on Vodafone UK.
I am trying to find out the correct firmware for my provider and to flash it without resetting my phone.
What router do you use, check its settings. Does mobile reception improve when you are outside?
You are using exynos right?
My wife's first S22 Ultra had horrible connection. Most times she couldn't receive or make any calls. That went on for about 2 months. Went back to Tmo and used the warranty and they shipped us another one. The new one works perfectly as it should have.
I would recommend that if you are having connection issues, contact the carrier/customer service and use the warranty, should be a year. In my wife's situation, the connection issue was the beginning of the phone not working at all. Samsung knows about their hardware issue and hasn't addressed it properly. Its a hardware issue
I have not had a issue with reception once since getting this phone from Samsung.. It is on T-Mobile. No issues with my home router either.

I had S22U half year and from few months I was problems with connection, don't recive messages or messages with trying calls for me in t-mobile Poland.
I put sim card to fold 2 and little smaller but again similar problems, change sim card and again.
Then I change my carrier operator and from 2 months everything works perfect with fold 2.
Now my s22U have girlfriend and too everything works good with her carrier (of course no t-mobile)
In my case issues were with t-mobile. I see a lot opinions who have connection issues have t-mobile and does not matter country.

US unlocked on TMobile here. I have fantastic reception both on wifi and network.
If you're genuinely getting 1/10th of the speed on your S22U on the same network as other phones, then that sounds like a hardware issue and a warranty replacement.
