Moto G8 Plus Call over Wi-Fi - Moto G8 Plus Guides, News, & Discussion

Hi guys,I am sharing my experience regarding the capability of Moto G8 Plus
to make Outstanding 4G Calls over Wi-Fi .
-first I made 4G calls over Wi-Fi on my network(speed 1 Gb/s,Tp-Link router) and
I was disapointed,in call sound wasnt clear,poor quality;
-after 2 months I managed to change my network to an optical fiber(same speed 1Gb/s,same Tp-Link router) and
when I made the 4G call over Wi-Fi I was very pleased to have an Outstanding Crystal clear incall voice !!
So the quality of the home network equipment made the difference.
I hope these will be usefull for those interested.
All the best !

[TIP] Improve Audio Quality of Calls or Music Over Bluetooth on the Captivate

I have been having intermittent issues with Bluetooth audio cutting out on my Captivate while I am on a phone call over Bluetooth. I believe the problem stems from Samsung's inability to do anything right and their implementation of Bluetooth 3.0. A new feature of Bluetooth 3.0 is the ability for a Bluetooth connection to transfer data over Wifi if both Bluetooth devices support 3.0 and have compatible Wifi chips. Samsung implemented this poorly, not a real surprise, and now Wifi is causing the Bluetooth data transfers to be spotty causing streaming data, voice calls or audio streaming, to to be adversely affected.
I was able to finally narrow down the problem. I received a phone call yesterday on my cell phone and I picked up the call on my Bluetooth enabled home phone. The call sounded horrible, noise and the other caller was cutting out, but not enough that I couldn't understand the other person, so I continued the call. The person on the other end did not seem to have any idea that the call sounded so badly, so it seemed to be something limited to my end. During the call, I went over to my Captivate and turned off Wifi. Instantly, the call cleared up and the quality was good to excellent.
I use Wifi all of the time especially at home, so I wasn't going to be turning off Wifi all of the time, so I needed a workaround. Using an App called Setting Profiles, I am able to have Wifi automatically turn off anytime I am on a call and then when the call is completed it turns Wifi back on. What's even better is that the app will note the state of Wifi before a call, so if Wifi is already off before a call, it will not turn Wifi on when the call is ended. The Tasker app will allow you to do the same thing, so if you already have Tasker you won't need Setting Profiles.
This tip will probably only work on the Samsung Galaxy S line because these phones use Bluetooth 3.0, where most Android phones use 2.1 or earlier and do not support Bluetooth file transfers over Wifi. I have only experienced it on the Captivate so I can't say if it will work for any other Galaxy S phone.
Since both wi-fi and BT uses the same 2.4Ghz frequency, interference maybe anticipated although new BT hardwares are pretty good at reduce such interferences.
Did you try change your wi-fi router frequency/channel so that it won't interfere with your BT? Try that so that you may not need to turn off wi-fi on the phone at all.
I have had the issue occur in my car while not near any Wifi router. Also, the router was still on when the call quality improved. It's not like the radio waves from the router and three other Wifi devices in my house disappeared around my phone just because I turned off the Wifi on my phone.

Thanks for the tip

[Solved]Lags with wifi over Voip/skype calls

I tested skype and sipdroid.
Once connected through wifi (signal very strong) doing call bringing the phone to ear (without hands-free), screen goes black (caused by proximity sensors) call start to be unstable causing a lot of lags, just move away from the phone ear, the screen turns on again, I notice that the call back high quality.
In hands-free mode no issue over wifi....and the strange thing: with 3g connection, hands-free or with phone on my ear, quality is very good,no lags, no issue!!!
This issue happened with STOCK rom ( 1.50.401.3 - s-on) and custom roms (s-off).
Can someone do some test?
SOLVED:
Over Settings / Wireless & Networks / Wi-fi Settings
Menu button -> Advanced
Enable Best Wi-Fi performance item!
(htc wrote under this setting "May consume more power"...it's incomplete, more power and more stability through wifi calls -.-' )

Thank you so much!!! Finally I have lag free Skype calls.

LG G4 H812 (Canada) WiFi and earpiece Problem

Hi Everyone,
I'm using LG G4 H812. There is no option in Wifi setting to use only single band (5ghz or 2ghz) so switching between two bands causes Viber/Skype call disconnection, Is there any option in rooted or custom ROM for this phone to disable 5ghz?
The second problem is that regular call quality is fine but whenever I use Viber/Skype for calling, I hear noise on earpiece but with using handsfree or speaker, quality is fine. I can't figure out how to solve this problem.
Thanks

issue in wifi and bluetooth connections in Xiaomi MI5

I currently got a second hand xiaomi MI5 running miui 10.2.2.0 on android 8.0 from my dad. this issue didn't surfaced cause my dad didn't used bluetooth devices for video calling or calling purposes. but when i got it i tried video calling through whatsapp and google duo and the phone is connected on Wifi. when the call is connected the screen of the other person is not moving and the voice is coming in parts. same is for when i call thru a whatsapp voice call connected via wifi it shows "calling" instead of "ringing".the moment i switch it with my 4G data it shows "ringing"
is there any solution to this??

Bluetooth connection issues

Hi all,
After Redmi note 6 pro which was working as it is supposed to, I have tried Redmi note 8, Redmi note 9 pro and now is am with a mi10 lite 5g (monet) but I still face connectivity issues regarding Bluetooth. I am many hrs in my Skoda kamiq with an bolero infotainment. Mi 10 connects to the infotainment rapidly and the FIRST call is handled correctly so I speak through the infotainment. BUT the second and all other calls no matter incoming or not are made via the phone's earpiece. Each time I have to pick the phone and choose the car option via the menu of the dialer's calling screen.
Since there is an audio connection to phone active shouldn't be the one to receive calls?
Could it be a Bluetooth connections prioritization issue ?
Can I prioritize somehow Bluetooth connections so to ensure that if car is connected then all calls be made through the infotaimnet?
Shouldn't the current handsfree bluetooth connection be the main to handle calls?
What if I have 2 connections to the phone active at the same time (eg a bluetooth handsfree and the car's infotainment)? Which one is in priority?
And why every time the first call after been connected is sent to the infotainment while all the rest to phone's earpiece?
Except it's something totally different and i am looking for in the wrong way.
Any suggestion is appreciated
Thanks in advance
