I currently got a second hand xiaomi MI5 running miui 10.2.2.0 on android 8.0 from my dad. this issue didn't surfaced cause my dad didn't used bluetooth devices for video calling or calling purposes. but when i got it i tried video calling through whatsapp and google duo and the phone is connected on Wifi. when the call is connected the screen of the other person is not moving and the voice is coming in parts. same is for when i call thru a whatsapp voice call connected via wifi it shows "calling" instead of "ringing".the moment i switch it with my 4G data it shows "ringing"
is there any solution to this??

I have been having intermittent issues with Bluetooth audio cutting out on my Captivate while I am on a phone call over Bluetooth. I believe the problem stems from Samsung's inability to do anything right and their implementation of Bluetooth 3.0. A new feature of Bluetooth 3.0 is the ability for a Bluetooth connection to transfer data over Wifi if both Bluetooth devices support 3.0 and have compatible Wifi chips. Samsung implemented this poorly, not a real surprise, and now Wifi is causing the Bluetooth data transfers to be spotty causing streaming data, voice calls or audio streaming, to to be adversely affected.
I was able to finally narrow down the problem. I received a phone call yesterday on my cell phone and I picked up the call on my Bluetooth enabled home phone. The call sounded horrible, noise and the other caller was cutting out, but not enough that I couldn't understand the other person, so I continued the call. The person on the other end did not seem to have any idea that the call sounded so badly, so it seemed to be something limited to my end. During the call, I went over to my Captivate and turned off Wifi. Instantly, the call cleared up and the quality was good to excellent.
I use Wifi all of the time especially at home, so I wasn't going to be turning off Wifi all of the time, so I needed a workaround. Using an App called Setting Profiles, I am able to have Wifi automatically turn off anytime I am on a call and then when the call is completed it turns Wifi back on. What's even better is that the app will note the state of Wifi before a call, so if Wifi is already off before a call, it will not turn Wifi on when the call is ended. The Tasker app will allow you to do the same thing, so if you already have Tasker you won't need Setting Profiles.
This tip will probably only work on the Samsung Galaxy S line because these phones use Bluetooth 3.0, where most Android phones use 2.1 or earlier and do not support Bluetooth file transfers over Wifi. I have only experienced it on the Captivate so I can't say if it will work for any other Galaxy S phone.
Since both wi-fi and BT uses the same 2.4Ghz frequency, interference maybe anticipated although new BT hardwares are pretty good at reduce such interferences.
Did you try change your wi-fi router frequency/channel so that it won't interfere with your BT? Try that so that you may not need to turn off wi-fi on the phone at all.
I have had the issue occur in my car while not near any Wifi router. Also, the router was still on when the call quality improved. It's not like the radio waves from the router and three other Wifi devices in my house disappeared around my phone just because I turned off the Wifi on my phone.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
Thanks for the tip
Today after 3 days of using my new redmi note 7 pro I faced an issue I.e. bluetooth headset mic stopped working for calls on SIM2 only. Otherwise is working fine for SIM1 calls, whatsApp calls, facebook calls etc.
I tried to connect another bluetooth thinking there is some problem with my bluetooth headset but problem remained unchanged with another bluetooth headset too.
Now it is clear that issue is with some settings on phone. Does anybody know abt it. Please help

did You get solution?
What ROM have you installed? This issue is present in MIUI 12 ROM and already have this issue raise to the EU Team for resolution about Bluetooth issue in Redmi Note 7 Pro
Same problem here in oppo reno 2
Did you get a solution?
Just got my new RedMi Note 8 Pro, 6Gb RAM, 128 Gb memory with MIUI 11.0.3 installed
I have an issue while using it with my bluetooth Interphone Tour intercom system that I use on my motorbike helmet.
I can connect them, listen music in the helmet, hear every sound while touching the screen even while forming a number or searching contacts BUT when starting the voice call the conversation is not transferred to the bluetooth device.
Also while trying to switch manually during the conversation between Interphone Tour, Speaker and Phone, the first option is not working.
To resume:
-can connect the device via phone's bluetooth
-the bluetooth connection is fully functional for everything else except any type of voice call (phone,Whatsapp, Facebook Messenger, Skype).
-Interphone Tour is working perfectly with the previous phones I had (Huawei P10 lite, Samsung Galaxy S4)
Please help me to solve this issue.
Hi all,
After Redmi note 6 pro which was working as it is supposed to, I have tried Redmi note 8, Redmi note 9 pro and now is am with a mi10 lite 5g (monet) but I still face connectivity issues regarding Bluetooth. I am many hrs in my Skoda kamiq with an bolero infotainment. Mi 10 connects to the infotainment rapidly and the FIRST call is handled correctly so I speak through the infotainment. BUT the second and all other calls no matter incoming or not are made via the phone's earpiece. Each time I have to pick the phone and choose the car option via the menu of the dialer's calling screen.
Since there is an audio connection to phone active shouldn't be the one to receive calls?
Could it be a Bluetooth connections prioritization issue ?
Can I prioritize somehow Bluetooth connections so to ensure that if car is connected then all calls be made through the infotaimnet?
Shouldn't the current handsfree bluetooth connection be the main to handle calls?
What if I have 2 connections to the phone active at the same time (eg a bluetooth handsfree and the car's infotainment)? Which one is in priority?
And why every time the first call after been connected is sent to the infotainment while all the rest to phone's earpiece?
Except it's something totally different and i am looking for in the wrong way.
Any suggestion is appreciated
Thanks in advance
Galaxy Watch 5 LTE and Huawei Mate 9 . I've been pulling my hair off to resolve this simple matter
With Bluetooth connectio everything works normally (messages and calls received on mobile are routed to the watch)
What I really want is to receive notifications of a call, or at least missed call, when phone and watch are NOT connected via bluetooth and watch connects via LTE.
In Settings > Advanced Features I have enabled Remote Connection and or all MESSAGE notifications (WhatApp, SMS, E-mails) are properly received on the watch.
However, CALLS and missed calls notifications are never received.
Interestingly when I turn Bluetooth off on the watch to simulate them being apart, for a breif moment after bluetooth is off (I get the beep that watch disconnected)), everything works.
Watch displays incoming call (if I try to answer it directs me to look on phone) and later i recieve the notification of a missed call. This is exactly what I want.
But, as soon as Wearable app indicates remote connection has been established ...adios notifications. Watch reamins mute on every subsequent call.
One more thing, If I open a Phone app on the watch I see missed calls there. so watch is geetting this info from mobile. I just doeasn't alert me properly.
Why is it such a problem, bearing in mind that it really works in some circumstances, that i get the notificstion of a missed call in the same manner as I get the notification of any other message.
Please help!
I'm new to using watch myself.
I've got Watch 4 Bluetooth.
Phone is S22Plus.
And notifications and calls work for mine.
I turn off Bluetooth and watch and phone are remotely connected over wifi.
Could you show options for remote connection? Mine does not have calls toggle. Maybe this works on a Samsung phone only?

Thanks. Do you have LTE or BT version of the watch? I don't have calling item at all. It could be that I it doesn't work properly on a non Samsung phone.
I've used the Samsung phone and it's the same. No calls or missed call notifications when bluetooth is off. Not even on WIFI.
This is like they assume your LTE would have the same number as your mobile and there is no need to cloud sync..
What a BS that you cannot receive calls (nor notifications) on LTE version (when BT is off) but you can on BT veriosn of the watch at least over WIFI. because there is a bonus option for calls in the remote connection tab.

Mine is a BT watch.
Yeah that is odd. It helps with the battery a lot if we use wifi only.

I'dont mind using LTE for connectivity. You are connected to internet all the time. It's just odd that LTE version is handicapped comparing to BT version that it cannot deal with the remote calls at all. And that is visible by the lack of the call option Iin remote settings on LTE phone.
What is the logic behind this.?If I buy more expensive phone with more connectivity options, in reality Iget less..
This is plain stupid and unfair.
