Hey all, has anyone got issues with the charging? Every time I want to charge my device it's almost sure I have to restart my phone due to the notification of "alien or liquid detected" and its not possible to charge until the device is restarted. Happens with the cable that came with the phone and any other, and of course, I have already cleaned the device but it is still happening like if the sensor is too sensitive on this matter.
Maybe you can try clean by alcohol, if it's some grease lub something similar, alcohol should clean.

Unfortunately no success, which makes me believe it is an issue from factory. It is really annoying as one has to be looking at the device every once in a while and if it happens, restart the device.... Definitely disappointed.
Unplug any links or adornments associated with your iPhone. Hold your iPhone with the Lightning port looking down, at that point tenderly tap it without breaking a sweat fluid out of the port. Spot your iPhone in an open, ventilated, dry space. Hang tight for in any event 30 minutes before utilizing your gadget once more.

Yes, I also faced the same problem in my Realme 5 Pro. I even shown my device to the Authorised Service Center, and even they weren't able to understand the problem as there was no Liquid damage when they opened the device at the center. I think this is a new type of issue in the Realme devices especially after the Android 11's Stable update. And, when asked in Realme Community the Executives wrote that they are working on this issue.

Actually my issue got fixed with the android 11 update. Looks like the software before 11 was not working properly and was the cause of the problem.
Im facing the same problem after 11 Update. Its annoying i cant charge my phone after 12% Battery.
Anyone got the fix?

I never update my N10+'s running on 9&10... and guess what?
Never any major issues. Android 9 and especially 10 are secure enough as is.

Sorry I can't. Hopefully someone here can...
You can try doing a hard reboot (simulates pulling battery). If that fails and it was a OTA update you can try a factory reset to purge the user data.
Have you tried charging while turned off? It can't ask you to restart if it's turned off Of course, you cannot use the phone while charging.
But if you're trying it with the phone turned on and you happen to have an AMOLED screen, you can enable ambient display with the battery information. You'll see a lightning symbol next to the battery percentage when it's charging. You can check this any time without touching the phone.
I also sometimes face a similar problem, but if I don't touch the phone it charges fine. I haven't figured out a permanent solution yet, but I'm suspecting it's my original stock cable that's now quite old and starting to fray. Shame, I have to purchase a new one soon.
Related
When I turn my phone off, entirely (even after removing/re-inserting the battery) the charge animation still appears, signifying there is still some battery drain occurring....and it really does, too. It lasts for about a week in this state from fully charged, to entirely dead. This isn't the most concerning part, though....the only logical assumption is that the phone actually thinks it's being charged
I've done a FULL wipe of all partitions and a factory flash, but that hasn't helped....any suggestions? It's pretty annoying that if I don't want the battery to discharge I have to actually unplug the battery entirely, even in a full power-off state (or at least as fully powered off as this particular phone can get at the moment)
(please excuse the slow upload. the video will be live shortly)

Yes, my current phone is a Nexus 4. The phone with issues is a NS4G and I dropped sprint like a bad habit earlier this year, so it's just a reference device now.
Uhmmm... Dust into connector? Since the current pins are hard wired to the recharge circuit, maybe there's a short and the battery it's powering it up.

Thanks for the input Dust has occurred to me in the past, and I've done a fair job of cleaning it. Just for the sake of saying I did it, I dusted it again, and this time I even unscrewed the back cover and dusted everything I could reach...much more of a teardown and I'm wandering down a road I don't want to go down....reassembly isn't my strong point. I can take anything apart without a problem...putting it back together is another story entirely lol
Anyway, I cleaned everywhere I could reach thoroughly...still happening, unfortunately.
Thank you for the input, though. You are correct that a big enough dust bunny could cause a short
Gentlemen, I believe I have managed to brick my beloved Nexus 5. It began rebooting randomly a week or two ago, then several days ago it just got stuck in a bootloop (booting, shutting down, booting, shutting down, etc). I guess having the phone in a dock on my cars dashboard driving around in 97F degree weather with the sun shining in, caused the poor thing to overheat. I can't even get into a stable Recovery mode anymore, it just shuts down after a few seconds and then attempts to reboot. :crying:
I am fairly confident there is no remedy, but I thought I'd throw in my hat here to see if anyone has any pointers. I guess I am hoping for a best case scenario type deal. It is mainly the battery that would take damage from overheating, correct? If so, I might try replacing it.

Hi, I replaced myself the screen (preassembled screen+digitizer+frame). After the replacement everything worked perfectly for like two hours when i rebooted it, from then on it is extremely laggy and stutters from boot animation, and when I press the power button (or when the screen shuts down), the phone itself shut down. In bootloader it doesn't seem to have problems.
I checked every connection inside the device (I've disassembled ad reassembled it several times).. thinking of a software problem, I've flashed marshmallow stock rom frist, and kitkat 4.4.4 then... but it's the same with any factory image.
Maybe I damaged something on the mainboard?
I also made a video to explain the problem:
with a lot of patience I set up a google account and downloaded cpu-z to see if maybe temperature sensor where giving wrong information to the system, but they're fine and everything seems to work propely aside from the stutter.
thanks to anyone who will help me, I'm almost giving up

I thought of that, but the fact that the haptic feedback (like the one you have entering app drawer, or returning home) is perfectly sync without lags made me think the touch was ok... and even twrp recovery was working smoothly (coudn't show in the video since I factory flashed kitkat)

OK, I've just tried... can't tell any differences.
I was thinking that the main way to solve this could be to investigate on the fact that turning off the display (both with power button or by itself after 30sec), shuts down the entire device. Could this be an hardware failure? (maybe generated by a physical damage that I caused)
thank you BTW

I bought a pre-assembled frame-display-touch. The battery came out easily even if I slightly forced it in the bottom. Anyway before replacement the battery was completely discharged... it has been completely discharged for almost two months since I broke the lcd in September. Left the phone disassembled on the desk for two days. After reassemble I plugged in a 2A Samsung charger to fill it up... initially everything was working properly, made a few photos with both cameras to check, a call and some random checks.. still on charge. On the second call I made, the microphone stopped working, so was the third... turned off the device, back on and everything was messed up like it is now.
Well a battery failure could actually make sense...

I didn't fix it eventually... but from my experience in fixing PCs, I believe that it could actually be a power issue related to either the battery or some power circuit.
If you've nothing to lose and some dollars to spend, you could try a new battery and see if it works!
So my Nexus 5 (a couple months ago) has started to just randomly go black. I get notifications and stuff, and the backlight but no display. Not sure what to do or what part to replace. Would flashing/rooting help at all?
Appears to be a hardware problem.
Was the phone every dropped or exposed to water/moisture? Possible loose connection inside?
No way to tell for sure if the phone needs a new screen unless you are able to test the motherboard in another N5.

It's been dropped a couple times but not like any major drops or anything. Im pretty sure I checked all the connections inside and they were good. Im starting to figure out that the phone has to be off for a little bit then I have to charge it and turn it on and it works again
Sounds like it could be a damaged lcd or lcd connection. If it can work after being charged while powered off, could be battery or USB flex cable issue.

Ya I figured out I have to reboot it a bunch of times then it will work
I think it might be the battery because this is my dad's old phone so it's been in use for a solid 3 years.. I wish I knew for sure though
So I have discovered that if my screen is on for a while the task bar at the bottom starts to shift up and down
Have you found out more about this? I think I have the same problem. My phone never turns black while I use it. But when the screen is off/sleeping, it sometimes won't turn on again. So a force reboot fixes it. Sometimes this happens a lot, some times it works fine a whole day.

Maybe, I don't think so. My phone was useless, black screen on every screen unlock. But namelessrom took that away, so that tip about nameless was for those who have the same black screen I had earlier. But now I have the same black screens as you do. Is a firmware problem?

You're replacing the USB charging flex cable? If you are, be careful with cheap third-party replacements as I have read reports of people having issues with charging, signal, or speaker functionality after installing the cable.

Ya so i sent it to LG finally and the diagnostic said that it was a flex cable issue which I was sure that it was anyway but I have a confirmation now
I've had a similar problem when my display suddenly started failing. First, there was colourful bands over the working display, then colourful static only and then black with backlight only. Bought a new phone, left it for a year and today after digging in the phone for a while I found a fix. The connection between the motherboard (the top bit) and the daughter board (the bit below battery with USB and connection to display) was somewhat loose and when pressed on, the display worked beautifully. I stuffed the insides with some tape to maintain pressure on the connection and phone works great.
Might not work for your problem, but it's worth a try if you're out of warranty and have tools to disassemble the phone.
Hello, yesterday I received my phone. For the first hour it was working fine. But later, when I locked the phone I couldn't enter my password or shut down because phone started touching random things by itself. Did a factory reset but after that I can't even setup the phone because it doing random things by itself. Tried to discharge the phone and leave it overnight. But the next day it was the same story. I even peeled of screen protector but no luck. I think it's not system related issue, might be that I got the faulty one with bad touchscreen? Has anyone had this issue?
Mine doesn't has any touch issues. Seems a manufacturing defect, better off exchanging/returning it.

The problem is that I bought it overseas and returning it back would take very long because of the corona I"m wondering what's the problem could be, touchscreen or something more serious like motherboard. If it only screen I might change it by myself
Return it under warranty. The second you open it that is gone and if the problem persists, then you are screwed...
Not only have you lost the purchase price of the phone but the cost of the replacement screen too which generally aren't cheap...

from where is your phone region? it can happen from many possibilities. maybe from the kernel. You can try to flash using miflash according to the firmware region.
or try to enter stock recovery, is it random touch or not. (vol + & power)
