Unlocked Galaxy Fold 2 - Locked APN Settings on Visible - Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 Questions & Answers

Being an unlocked device I expected this to work, but unfortunately it does not. My XAA Note 10+ worked just fine, but the unlocked device does not.

As an update, I don't know if throwing on the XAA firmware made any difference, but Visible is in fact working on my Fold 2 at this point.
I ended up assuming it didn't work, first boot of the phone I looked at the APN settings and they were locked like my girlfriends Pixel 2 before I rooted and edited them. I assumed since the fold was also locked, it wouldn't work.
After loading Frija, downloading the XAA firmware and using ODIN to flash the new firmware, SMS, MMS, calls, etc all work fine, while still having a locked APN menu.

Flashed G930T firmware onto G930V - phone locked?

I have a G930V and recently switched from Verizon to T-Mobile. I flashed the phone firmware to G930T so WiFi calling, VoLTE, and visual voicemail would work. After doing that, it seems the phone is now locked to the T-Mobile network - even though it was never locked on Verizon.
I wanted to de-bloat the phone and try G930U - but can I do that if the phone is locked now? Do I need to somehow unlock the phone first? Or is it only locked to the T-Mobile sim?
Also - If I switch to G930U, what will I lose other than bloatware? Just OTA updates? Do I have to do anything special to enable Advanced Messaging, Visual Voicemail, WiFi Calling, and VoLTE?

Are you "network-locked"? or have a different sort of issue? I have a ex-VZW S7; however, due to the previous owner, I was "network-locked" - and thus could NOT take the phone back to VZW (the phone's original network). I am a Tracfone customer; therefore, I COULD take the phone to T-Mobile (Tracfone uses both networks). My misgivings were, in fact, entirely due to previous experiences using T-Mobile's network (with Tracfone, Safelink Wireless, and Virgin Mobile USA. After porting the IMEI, I prayed and did the firmware change (both were flawless. Rather amusingly, my service has ALSO been flawless - better than it has previously been as a T-Mobile-MVNO customer - unexpected, to say the least. I went from swearing AT Trafcone (and T-Mobile) to swearing by them (and eating a heaping helping of CROW in the process) - when I'm wrong, I'm wrong. I've had VoLTE (and VoWiFi as well) since I've been on the Pink side of things - if you want updates, you want T-Mobile firmware, though. (I'm running Project L V.4 and knew going in I'd lose OTAs - if you'rer comfortable with that, that may be an option for you. If you're nervous, grab the latest T-Mobile ODIN TAR (it has its own thread) and flash that - the firmware is un-fooled-around with. Extract and flash with ODIN as normal.
Verizon S7 phones are not locked, period. There are instructions on how to put Tmobile rom on the phone. We have done 2 and both were easy and worked flawlessly. Wifi Calling and LTE

I know it is not locked as a Verizon phone. I am an talking about going BACK to 930V after flashing 930T. It appears to be network locked now...
I had the same issue. After changing the phone from a sm-930v to a sm-930t I placed a verizon sim in the phone and the carrier told me the device was network locked to T-Mobile. I used the T-Mobile unlock app and requested a carrier unlock. The message said, "phone permenantly unlocked." I am using a ATT sim card with Tracfone with no problems. By default Verizon phones are unlocked after 90 days if there are no pending contract issues. I think the T-Mobile carrier lock may depend upon the firmware you flash. You may want to wipe the data and try a different version.

930P->930U Not detecting Xfinity Mobile Sim [solved]

I flashed my S7 (930P) to a 930U following these instructions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0eye-zDOtQ
When I slap my XM sim in my S7, it tells me none detected. The sim is good, I can put it back in the e5 I snagged and it gets coverage immediately. I've tried flashing the modem with the VZW image and am pulling down the 930VC/CCT image now so I can try the Xfinity modem file in case that is the ticket.
If it's not, I'm not sure what my next step is. Any recommendations?
Turns out I'm not thinking straight. Checking the modem file now.
No luck
The device wasn't unlocked and I had the impression the U firmware would release that lock. Not true, still had to get Sprint to unlock.
@eskaryo
I have a sim unlocked Sprint S7 (g930p) on Android 8.0. And when I put in my active xfinity sim almost everything works. Data works, incoming and outgoing calls and texts work. But it won't switch out of roaming and all MMS including group text won't work. So do I just need to flash the firmware you mentioned to get everything working right? And can you flash it on a locked bootloader (which I believe this sprint s7 has)? If so can you confirm the exact firmware I need? Thank you!
I have the same problems with Xfinity service on my s7. This is most likely due to APN settings though I don't know for sure. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

SM-G955U1 with AT&T firmware

Today I flashed over to the current DSH1 AT&T firmware for the unlocked model to try and get wifi calling and volte for AT&T. Every thing went successful and firmware shows it's the right firmware (DSH1), but I expected there to be a AT&T boot logo and bloatware which there was not. Calling AT&T they confirmed the sim has wifi calling activated and ready to go, but still refuses to show up. I just searched all day on this and seems no one is talking about this at all for AT&T. Putting in my girlfriend's T-mobile sim, wifi calling will show up in the phone settings as normal. Any ideas whats up? Is there another firmware for AT&T I should be using? Yes I used all 4 firmware files and not the home CSC, also did 2 factory resets to make sure.

Emergency calls only on flashed Samsung S10e (SM-G970U)

So I bought two supposedly unlocked Samsung S10e logic boards, because I had two units with defective logic boards and wanted to make them work.
They are both BST, but I wanted to flash XAA on them to make sure there wasn't any branding.
Unfortunately, after having flashed one of the devices, it is set to emergency calls only, and will not register to a network. It is capable of getting a signal (full bars) as well as seeing the available operators, but cannot register on any of them. The SIM card used works, and I have checked with two different blacklist checkers and both of them say the device is NOT blacklisted. The APN settings are also correct, so I have a hard time understanding what the issue is.
I did not test the device before flashing to see if it could make calls, but I did test the second device and it works perfectly. I have not flashed this second device from fear of also making it not register on the network, because I've never had such a problem flashing a unbranded firmware on devices.
The baseband version for both is G970USQS6GUI1.
The only difference I can quickly see is the service provider software version. The non-working device has it as "SAOMC_SM-G970U_OYN_XAA_QQ_0008 XAA/XAA/XAA" where as the working device has it as "SAOMC_SM-G970U_OYN_BST_RR_0010 BST/XAA/BST".
I have since tried putting back the BST firmware, using the BL, AP, CP, CSC (non-home) as well as USERDATA, but nothing changed.
What could I be missing ?
Thank you

Question Help! Network locked message on unlocked S908E

Hi. I got my s22 ultra sm-s908e unlocked two weeks ago through Amazon. Everything was working fine until today when I realized I couldn't make any calls in the morning. I saw that on the lock screen on top it said network locked emergency calls only. I rebooted my phone and it got into the network again. But around ten minutes later it got back into network locked.
I have tried almost everything. Cleaning my sim card, resetting network settings, even re applying the network configuration message. Nothing.
The only thing I have done to it was flashing the XSG firmware since it was the latest one and in my country (mexico) the unlocked versions usually get updates really slowly.
Tomorrow I'm going to try to do a factory reset but I'm asking first to see if I ****rd up something or if my phone was locked somehow.
Hopefully somone can help me.
Just a suggestion: reflash original firmware for your device and see if it remains locked. Also check current lock status in settings --> Connections --> More Connection settings --> Network Unlock
There is PERMANENT UNLOCK and TEMPORARY UNLOCK. you may have been sold a phone that was not fully unlocked.
Flash original firmware and contact amazon customer service, advise that after updating and doing factory reset the phone appears locked, get a replacement or a refund.
S908E here, USA user, AT&T customer...
They locked my sim card out right after popping it in. Called AT&T and they said the phone is not on their supported list. Only U and U1 models. But they unlocked the sim card for me. This only affects my number, not the others on the same plan. So check your carrier if they also have such a list.
