I use Evernote at work and for some reason, I need the note widget to auto-update every 5 min, the problem is the app only allow 15 mins auto-update which means I need to open the app every 5 min to get the note updated. Any way to "force" an auto background app update? Thanks!

I'm using the HTC Mail app (Sense 3.5 - Endymion 3.2 ROM) for reading my work IMAP mail.
I don't want to poll this mail continuously, only poll/refresh manually.
My update frequency is set to "manual", however the app keeps updating regularly.
Once per 3 minutes it seems.
I do use JuiceDefender (set to 15 minutes), but that doesn't change the fact that the update frequency is set to "manual".
What am I doing wrong?
I've had the opposite problem with the HTC mail app. Refresh set to push, but test emails take 30 mins to show up. Regardless of setting or hitting refresh. I've found it's just inconsistent. Does K9 mail do the same thing?
If juice defender is anything like tasker, it can force a refresh even if you have the apps frequency turned down. Tasker however, uses a plugin called Synker to do this, which you can specify what accounts are refreshed. Perhaps give it a go if juice defender it's the issue.
Sent from my HTC Desire S using xda premium
Before the update, all apps would basically be running and would drain my battery in an hour
Now i noticed that all my apps are dead, and I have to reopen them and refresh them to see new updates
I have to manually go into snapchat and refresh to get snaps, and whatsapp doesnt push through notifications
Dont tell me to turn it on because it is, thanks
I know there is a thread related to this, but I never saw a solution.
My Gear S2 stock Weather app never auto-updates. Not even when I open the app. In order to update the current conditions in my city, I have to tap on the city, then scroll all the way to the bottom to the refresh button.
In the Samsung Gear app on my Galaxy S4, I have gone into the Settings>Weather settings, and I have selected to Auto Refresh every 6 hours. I have Use Current Location turned off (maybe that's my problem?).
Anyone have ideas?
Almost same issue with my Gear S.
First : location must be ON
Second : weather update only when phone screen is on. So if you use some time your phone weather is updated, otherwise weather can stay 10H without update if you do not use your phone
So since I Updated to the s8 plus I have not been able to stream my usual local radio app kokefm or online streamimg websites for more than 5 Minutes when the decice is locked. After 5 minutes the stream pauses, and when I unlock the phone the stream resumes. I have checked to make sure background data is enabled for the apps, and no power saving is on. Anyone else having this issue?
I figured out how to fix it if anyone else has this problem.
Go to settings > device maintenance > battery. Then click on battery usage then the three dots on the top right and go to optimize battery usage. There you can change to all apps and turn off optimization for whatever apps are not streaming in the background. Seems kinda redundant since I already had the apps in the not monitored list and allowed background network data... atleast it's working now.
Android 7 has a feature called "Doze" that will make most apps go into a suspended state after the device is idle for a while. This is possibly what's making your music app stop. If your app has a Stay Awake function, you may want to enable it and just turn the screen brightness down instead of off.
I think the problem in settings, that's all... Do you use Spotify? It has become so popular because it gives users what they want. The user can stream music from any Android device. Having over 75 million users, Spotify is the most popular among them. What is the reason behind its popularity and how much does it cost to build an app like Spotify?
I got my Vivo Nex 3 days ago and Im still configuring it..
Yesterday I was watching some tv shows on VLC and sometimes it just closed itself... It only happend with that until today I used Android Auto on my car and it closed twice... and it seemed that the time it was open was similar so it is maybe some background battery saver or something.
But I checked every configuration about background running, permissions and those settings and dont know why some apps just close itselfs while open.
Try to figure out if the moment that your apps 'close down' are at the same moment. Then check the auto-lock time setting in your settings. If that time matches, then that is your reason.

Click to collapse
The auto lock time is 1 minute and the auto-closing occurs in 5-10 minutes. (I need to get the exact time)
