Battery capacity limit on Android systems - General Questions and Answers

Hello,
Newbie question here, Is there some system in android phones that limit the capacity of the battery?
I am thinking of hacking my old s7 edge for really big battery, the original is 3600mah and i am thinking of putting 13000mah.
Similar way that one guy did his Iphone on Youtube(but i am thinking more safe way) . I cannot link cause i am a new to this forum but you can find it with "DIY iPhone battery hack"
So at least on older Iphones it works
So will i be able use all of the 13000mah or is there some system that prevents it?
I need this capacity for one project, power banks are out of the question.

Phones without removable batteries?

As I'm due for an upgrade soon I'm researching upcoming options. I'm really liking the idea of the HTC One X... however, it doesn't have a removable battery. With as many times as I've bricked my captivate, I don't know how I would have fixed it without being able to remove the battery
One of the reasons I don't want an iPhone is for that very reason, I hate being limited to one battery or not being able to pop it out if needed.
You guys think there's any real reason for concern? It seems more phones are coming out this way, it makes for a more attractive, maybe even sturdy, design... but I don't know if I care that much
There is no way I'd go with a non-removable battery on android. It's just not stable enough.
dislike non-removable-battery phones. what should we do if those phones need restarting because of stopping working
Phones like that have hard key resets. Actually even those with removable batts have hard resets with the right button press. The main issue with a non-removable battery besides resets is if it just doesn't have enough capacity cause then you're just in the dead zone =p
You would think that they would at least include better battery. Razr maxx have 3300mah and it is not much more bulkier, so I think at least 2000mah should not be very hard to achieve.
I hope that new generations of phones, some are made up mainly by the reset button and easy ability to change the battery with a more powerful even at peak performance, 3g and wifi internet apps.

this wasn't, strictly speaking, a question, it was a starting point for discussion
Removable Battery
From my limited experiance an Android phone with a non-removable battery wouldn't be for me. If you want to experiment with roms and kernels, pulling the battery is a must. Also it's hard to put in a higher amp battery or install a replacement.

Aside from disagreeing with it not being stable why not have an android with non removable battery when there's always the hard reset with power button.

I know the iphone has a feature that if it freezes, you hold the home and sleep button until it turns off (this was present in the original and iphone 3g as far as i know). That simulates a battery pull. But if i was thinking of buying a new android phone and its battery didn't pop out, it would be a deal breaker.

[Q] Replacement battery with higher capacity?

I have done some searching for possibly getting a battery with higher capacity for the Nexus 5 and all I can find are either OEM replacement ones with the same capacity or crazy ones that require a new back cover as they are so big. I don't want to have a huge, honking phone and was wondering if there is something in the middle that would extend the battery life while also not extending the physical footprint of the phone.
Thanks!
Nope.
Why don't you just get a power bank?
I wish. But just in case: don't trust any 3rd part battery you might find around with extra 100-400mah more than the original. You could waste your money, time, warranty and maybe you phone.

[Q] How to Double Battey Life While S6 With Non-removable Battery?

I may stick with my G3 because of the bad news that S6 lost an option to replace battery, though the S6 does look great in my eyes. As for a non-removable phone, is there any ways to double the battery life since we cannot simply swap extended batteries? Will this kind of accessory do any good?

pretty simple.. buy a phone with removable battery.. S4, S5, Note4, etc. or stick with your S3 is also another option..

Of course wit will work.
Why do you even need something like that? I understand if you go on somewhere far away with no electricity, but why do you need it for daily usage?
Also it is not just about the hardware, if you optimize the software, you will get great battery usage time...
Just root your phone, uninstall all apps that you don't need and install greenify to make the apps sleep that you don't need running in background all the time. I use my HTC M7 like that and get 2 days on battery even though i stream music over bluetooth and use WhatsApp and 9gag very often...

Here is another option;
The Mophie Juice Pack uses a proprietary Impact Isolation System that works like an internal suspension to protect your handset, while at the same time it is making sure that your phone is powered up to handle all of the mobile tasks you need to get done. Mophie is part of Samsung's SMAPP program, consisting of the manufacturer's strategic partners. This means that only Mophie will be offering a battery charging case for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge when both phones launch on April 10th. The case for either device will be priced at $99.95 and will be available starting on that date from Mophie's online store, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, Best Buy and other retailers.
I'm going to go out on a limb once my GS6 come
You can get a case with a built in extended battery, carry an external battery that you plug in once in a while, or get an external battery/wireless charger combo like one of these:

http://www.amazon.com/Qi-infinity-Portable-compatible-including-receivers/dp/B00K8HG8YW
Each option has pros/cons, but hopefully one will work for you...

What phone has this? Rootable, Android 7, replaceable battery, no more than HD res

Hey . I'm looking to replace my Galaxy Note 3 due to its aging OS. I'm trying to get a phone that has replaceable battery but no more than HD resolution (because too high a resolution drains the battery due to increased stress on the GPU).
It's OK if the phone comes with older Android as long as it supports flashing a newer version.
A nice-to-have is if the phone has an indicator LED and can be placed within a wallet cover (replaceable back).
I heard LG v30 is dumping the replaceable battery, otherwise it would have been my first choice .

Battery replacement help

I had to repace the original battery on my photon q because I dropped it and the battery cable tore. I bought a cameron sino because Ive had a reasonable experience with them and nokia phone batteries (though I find polar cell the best). However, after a couple of weeks I ended up in a situation where it wouldnt charge or start any more, it would get to the bootloader unlocked screen and turn off, then just keep looping round and round. Ive jury rigged a nokia battery in and its working ok (though its smaller and I dont want to try charging). Can anyone suggest a decent replacement battery? I dont want to use one of the higher capacity battery mods as I dont want to make it bulge or anything. Could my problems be anything to do with using sailfish os instead of android?
So I tried to charge my Nokia BP-4L and it doesn't work... but I realised that there are actually 4 battery contacts and I am only using two. Does anyone know what the other two contacts are for? Presumably one is a thermistor, but not sure about the other, at some point I'll try buzzing with a multimeter to see if any of them are connected together.
Has anyone tried this extended battery from ebay? 2600mAh is huge! Which makes me think it can't possibly be true... and postage to the UK is 20USD which makes me reluctant to try it.
i mean it is BAT+ / BTEMP / ID / BAT-
