EDIT: I fixed it and will explain you how i did.
So, what was my issue ?
I was on rooted DP4. I was trying some things, to see what is possible and what wasn't. I uninstalled magisk using the manager and that was a terrible mistake lmao.
After that the phone rebooted and it never start again. I was all time stucked at the bootloader warning screen. I tried to start in fastboot, edl or recovery but it was stucked again and again...
I was really not able to boot anything.
How i fixed it ?
I thought the boot partition was ****ed, and i was right.
After arround 10 hours stucked on the bootloader warning the phone got shudown because battery was empty.
I charged it for 20 mins, the phone was power on but was stucked on the warning again. I tried to start the phone fastboot and wow it got damn worked !!!!
I flashed the stock boot.img file, start phone to recovery and did a hard reset and reboot.
yay the phone booted.
To resume, that was an idiot mistake, and i was not able to fix it until battery was empty. But i fixed it, so all good.
if someone do the same mistake, that's the solution
Have you tried the MSM tool: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-8/how-to/op8-unbrick-tool-to-restore-device-to-t4093043 ?

Yes i was sarcastic and that's normal.
My phone is soft bricked, i can't boot anything at all.
Press buttons to boot to fastboot, edl, recovery or anything else don't work. I can't pass the warning screen. For exemple, i don't touch the phone since some hours, and i'm still on the warning screen. I can't do anything.
So, the real swner i want know is, will OnePlus accepts my phone at the repair center if the bootloader is unlocked ? I hope you will know for that dude
Have a nice day
Please help
I literally just had this problem 2 days ago, I was so scared. What I did to get my T-Mobile OnePlus 8 back to working state was MSM download Tool. At first, nothing works. Took me like 1 hour to figure it out. So went back to XDA to the "Convert to global WIP" THREAD and followed the MSM steps. I just hold on to volume up and down after 6 seconds then plug while still doing it and it finally connected. I really thought I was screwed. This happened when I was trying to convert to Global fastboot ROM. I have 3 OnePlus chargers, two from old OnePlus 7 Pro and one that came with my 8. I'm not going to flash anything again. I'll just stick with the T-Mobile software and wait for them to push out updates. I tried converting for 2 weeks straight and no luck no matter what ROM I used & fastboot drivers.
hold all three buttons for 15 seconds
will close the thread, sadly you are all saying the same thing. Your solutions don't work as i said like 3 or 4 times.
I can't boot to any mode, i'm all time stuck at the warning screen. Don't care if it's fastboot, edl or recovery, can't boot anything at all.

Let me introduce myself. My name is Toni, I'm from Croatia.
We too have an IT forum, and they recommended me to go and ask for answers here...
Well, I have a Huawei U8650. It is rooted, and I installed a custom ROM.
Today, I installed a .zip file from the recovery, and when I went to "Reboot" (also from recovery), the phone stopped on the Huawei Logo (when trying to reboot).
I couldn't do anything, so I pulled the battery out, and in again. I pressed the Power button, but again, the boot stopped at Huawei Logo.
Then, I tried to get to the recovery menu. The combo- VOL UP + POWER is not working (when I try it, it gets me to the Logo).
However, I also tried this combo- VOL UP + VOL DOWN + POWER, but then the whole screen turns pink! WTF?
I don't know what to do, I'm desperate! I can't use my phone anymore!
Did I brick my phone? If not, what the f*ck did I do?
How can I solve my problem?
Thanks
Toni

Try this:
Hold volume down while pressing and releasing the power button, wait till phone comes on to release volume down, let me know your results (should bring you to hboot)

i think there might be a chance that your phone has fastboot turned on since i was trying to get into recovery and couldnt because of the fastboot...i cant help you but i know this is what might be causing you not being able to get into recovery
So, I will be able to get it to work again??
What is the sign of bricking a phone? How does it look?

ive never bricked my phone but from what im reading is if you have fastboot on pull the battery and then try again hold volume and power at same time hold for a couple seconds then just release the power button while holding down the volume
Again nothing.
Just the logo.
ok last thing i can think of......Did you wipe everything when installing the rom...factory reset, cache partition, delvik cache...if so are you getting a white screen when loading.....sometimes when installing a new rom it can take almost 10 min for it to load.....i have an evo 4g and this can happen.....it could be just trying to load so give it at the most 10min to load everything....then let me know what id does
No, i didn't wipe a thing. I did not install a ROM. I installed an app, root manager. The install instructions didn't say anything about wiping data.
I left it at the logo for 30 minutes, because I went out. When I came back, the screen was showing the logo.
EDIT: but yes, when I installed my custom ROM, i wiped everything.

Hi all,
I got my AT&T HTC One X today. 1.85. I rooted it successfully and went about unlocking the bootloader following these instructions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671396
I got to the point where you exchange the original boot file for the original. When I used the command "adb reboot bootloader" to boot into the bootloader screen my phone went black and has not worked since. No combination of button holding over any amount of time has caused any sort of reaction. Although, oddly enough, holding down the power button makes my computer alternate between the "device connected" and "device disconnected" sounds, so I guess it's not completely dead? ADB doesn't detect the phone at any time.
I think that I screwed up with the hex editing, which explains why it's not starting up - I might have destroyed one of the files it uses to boot. Is there any way to put the original file back, or do I have a brick? Thanks in advance.

again I'm sorry. I feel your pain. The exact thing happened to me.
If by boot replacing boot thing you are referring to mmcblk0p4, that means you did not edit it correctly and sent it to the phone or sent it to the wrong partition(unlikely). Hex editing should always be done with EXTREME care, and if your not 100% sure u did it right you can always find someone here that can check it or do the edit for you uf needed. Sorry about the brick, that really sucks!

You have no idea you have no /system to boot to since you've just said you wiped it.
It is interesting that even after messing up your device, you didn't bother to search but immediately ask in dev section although this post has nothing to do with development. This is sad.

Please refrain from recommending toolkits, especially to noobs who have already gotten themselves into a bind due to lack of knowledge. We need to try and encourage learning, not provide tools to get around it.
OP needs to flash a factory image with fastboot and then read up on flashing ROMs and the like before he attempts to do anything else, unless he wants to actually brick his device next time.

You don't need recovery to flash a factory image, just the bootloader. Hold volume down while powering the phone up. It'll boot into the bootloader and from there you can flash the factory image using fastboot.
And in the future, don't wipe /system. That's why you have no OS.

Are you continuing to hold volume down after pressing the power button or are you releasing it right away? You need to hold it until it boots into the bootloader.

Then you somehow managed to wipe your bootloader, I don't quite know how. Try holding both volume up and down while booting. Again, continue to hold both volume buttons until it boots. That'll get you into the secondary bootloader. If that doesn't work, then you're screwed.

Recently my screen's digitizer broke, so I ordered a new screen and just got it today.
I replaced it and I tested it, it turned on and that, but when I try to boot it just come with the onplus logo and powered by android stuff in the bottom and that's the only thing it's showing with it just turns off and on basically rebooting
So I tested, can it go into fastboot it could so I tried flashing twrp on but didn't work keeps doing the same cannot even enter recovery just fastboot.
Anyone tried this before or, what can I do to fix it if there is a possible fix for it.
Have you tried flashing official images from fastboot? hopefully not a hardware issues
I'm having the same problem, also since today. My phone just got in a bootloop while powered on and running completely fine. Trying to boot into recovery also gets me a bootloop. Fastboot works, and when i try to flash anything it tells me it succeeds. Then when i try to power on again, still the same bootloop.
I've tried the Oneplus Recovery Tool, same thing. Everything succeeds, but I still end up with a bootloop. The logo on the fastboot page had changed, though, so I'm guessing the flash was successful, but something else is broken.
I'm actually really worried about my phone right now.

AFAIK,it can be either battery or Motherboard/Logic board.

After getting update I was trying to flash TWRP and was having troubles. The first one was something to do with the partitions. After following a guide to change the slot I then went and flashed TWRP and now I'm stuck in a boot loop with the one plus animation going round slowly.

You haven't been specific about that guide, or what steps you took exactly. But you shouldn't have to mess with changing slots to install TWRP. There are a couple ways to retain TWRP after an update. But again, without more details, it is impossible to tell what you have done, or to what extent you need to do exactly to get it up and running. But this phone is pretty hard to permanently brick, since we have the unbrick tool.
Hi,
You do not need to have the fastboot mode. Turn off your phone, on black screen hold vol up for 6-10 sec and plug usb cabel. After that make sure that your pc can see the phone, then run as admin the msm tool. It always worked for me for OP3T, OP5T and now for OP7Pro.
Full instraction and the msm tool is here.
Hope you will bring back to life your phone.
Thank you so much. !
