Really need some advice, think I bricked my OP7 pro and can't get into fastboot mode - OnePlus 7 Pro Questions & Answers

After getting update I was trying to flash TWRP and was having troubles. The first one was something to do with the partitions. After following a guide to change the slot I then went and flashed TWRP and now I'm stuck in a boot loop with the one plus animation going round slowly.
I'm currently looking in to the msm tool but I'm in a panic as I cant get into fastboot mode. Does anyone have any advice. Have I lost everything. Did I brick it.
Thank you

try to press volume up + volume down + power button

Just use the MSM tool, youre using the EDL mode there. Its going to be alright, I had it bricked like that the first day i bought the phone.

Thanks. I did use it. But I had problems connecting to it. Turns it was the drivers needing updating. But still it was a bit of a panic. Thought I had completely ruined it.
I'm wondering though does this tool re lock the bootloader?

Yes, it does.
Fortunately this is OP not Xiaomi, so you don't have to wait 4 years to unlock it again if you want to.

This is also what I would suggest. Hold that combo to get to bootloader. You may need to hold that for a few seconds to power down the phone, then hold them again to boot to bootloader.

You haven't been specific about that guide, or what steps you took exactly. But you shouldn't have to mess with changing slots to install TWRP. There are a couple ways to retain TWRP after an update. But again, without more details, it is impossible to tell what you have done, or to what extent you need to do exactly to get it up and running. But this phone is pretty hard to permanently brick, since we have the unbrick tool.

Hi,
You do not need to have the fastboot mode. Turn off your phone, on black screen hold vol up for 6-10 sec and plug usb cabel. After that make sure that your pc can see the phone, then run as admin the msm tool. It always worked for me for OP3T, OP5T and now for OP7Pro.
Full instraction and the msm tool is here.
Hope you will bring back to life your phone.

Thank you so much. !

OnePlus One - stuck on Resurrection boot

Hello guys,
I apologize if this has been solved before but I wasn't able to find anything on it.
I have a oneplus one phone which I had running Ressurection Rom (I don't have the details as my father was using it for the last 2 years).
He dropped the phone and gave it to a shop for repairing of the screen. They repaired the screen but now they have somehow messed with the software where I am UNABLE TO BOOT TO FASTBOOT OR TRWP. The function of holding POWER + VOLUME DOWN or POWER + VOLUME UP doesn't work. When I attempt those two options, it still continues to boot as it normally would and then start optimizing apps. Does that for about 45 minutes and then just restarts and repeats the process.
I haven't messed around with android stuff for about a year now, so simplified instructions (rather step by step) would be extremely helpful.
Thank you so much for taking the time.

Hello, Thank you for your response.
I have tried the instructions that you provided and I am stuck in a place where the "Samsung" drivers for OPO are installed but the phone isn't detected by the computer when its plugged in. I assume that means the drivers aren't installed correctly. However, when I do open device manager and attempt to update or uninstall the drivers there isn't a device there that is representative of OPO.
How do I get to the point where the drivers can be installed without me having access to the phone. I can't really go into a bricked phone and turn on ADB etc.'
Thank you

Use Xp or win7(must).
Okay so I have attempted this a tiring number of times; initially the phone at least was going on to loading apps, now it just flashes on the Resurrection load screen and doesn't change at all. Also when I try to boot into recovery/fastboot, nothing happens.
I have also tried installing different drivers from like a samsung phone, nexus but to no avail.
Is there anyone who can perhaps TEAMVIEW me and help out or live chat?

I don't think so. If it is a battery issue he could go to fastboot since fastboot only uses a small amount of charge.

Most probably your volume buttons were messed up during the repair. That's the only reason I can think of. There are some videos on YouTube about fixing the volume buttons.

I think I just totalled my H910...

So, I was trying to root my V20 I legit just purchased earlier today.
I followed the Dirty Santa guide, and it worked out great. I was in TWRP and I went to wipe the cache, and accidentally wiped the whole thing. While I was attempting to fix it, I was putting a MicroSD card back into the slot and knocked the battery out.
I know.
After messing with it for 5 hours, I finally got back to TWRP. In my state of exhaustion and frustration, I accidentally flashed an H918 ROM onto the phone in TWRP. It restarted, and now it's totally dead. Black screened. Won't turn on, can't use any button combinations to get it into fast boot nor recovery.
Any ideas?

I guess the 918 and 910 look TOO similar on a 1440P screen
sometimes you gotta laugh to keep from crying.
Luckily, it was only 240 dollars.

Ouch unfortunately this is a complete rom that updates every partition on your device including bootloader... which killed your device..:crying: if you managed to get back into your device their maybe a chance.. sorry for that..
918 bootloader on 910=brick. no way round that.
If that were to happen to me i think i would be trying everything even if it doesnt make sense LOL! (Like..... puting the phone on the fridge, or disarming the whole phone and disconnecting the motherboard and then reconnecting it again and all) ... But... I've never flashed a rom not intended for my device. I've always been careful with that.
You're in luck, download your stock rom & try my method...

Different story then... You will need QPST tools to at least flash the aboot partition (which contains the download mode), then you should be able to restore with LGUP.

do you know how to do that stuff?
I'd probably be able to work it all out if it was my phone. Google is your friend. On the other hand it would be faster to go to a professional shop (with tools such as octoplus or z3x) to do it for you for a fee if warranty is not an option.
All phones SHOULD be covered LG's warranty. I'm not sure if they'lll ask for proof of a receipt, but i'm pretty sure they will considering they asked for it when I sent in my LG tone platinums. If that's the case, ask the og owner if they still have it. No one is really developing for the H910 model anyways so you saved yourself some frustration in the long-run.

Softbrick FIXED: DP4 unrooted using Magisk Manager

EDIT: I fixed it and will explain you how i did.
So, what was my issue ?
I was on rooted DP4. I was trying some things, to see what is possible and what wasn't. I uninstalled magisk using the manager and that was a terrible mistake lmao.
After that the phone rebooted and it never start again. I was all time stucked at the bootloader warning screen. I tried to start in fastboot, edl or recovery but it was stucked again and again...
I was really not able to boot anything.
How i fixed it ?
I thought the boot partition was ****ed, and i was right.
After arround 10 hours stucked on the bootloader warning the phone got shudown because battery was empty.
I charged it for 20 mins, the phone was power on but was stucked on the warning again. I tried to start the phone fastboot and wow it got damn worked !!!!
I flashed the stock boot.img file, start phone to recovery and did a hard reset and reboot.
yay the phone booted.
To resume, that was an idiot mistake, and i was not able to fix it until battery was empty. But i fixed it, so all good.
if someone do the same mistake, that's the solution

Yes i was sarcastic and that's normal.
My phone is soft bricked, i can't boot anything at all.
Press buttons to boot to fastboot, edl, recovery or anything else don't work. I can't pass the warning screen. For exemple, i don't touch the phone since some hours, and i'm still on the warning screen. I can't do anything.
So, the real swner i want know is, will OnePlus accepts my phone at the repair center if the bootloader is unlocked ? I hope you will know for that dude
Have a nice day
Please help
I literally just had this problem 2 days ago, I was so scared. What I did to get my T-Mobile OnePlus 8 back to working state was MSM download Tool. At first, nothing works. Took me like 1 hour to figure it out. So went back to XDA to the "Convert to global WIP" THREAD and followed the MSM steps. I just hold on to volume up and down after 6 seconds then plug while still doing it and it finally connected. I really thought I was screwed. This happened when I was trying to convert to Global fastboot ROM. I have 3 OnePlus chargers, two from old OnePlus 7 Pro and one that came with my 8. I'm not going to flash anything again. I'll just stick with the T-Mobile software and wait for them to push out updates. I tried converting for 2 weeks straight and no luck no matter what ROM I used & fastboot drivers.
hold all three buttons for 15 seconds
will close the thread, sadly you are all saying the same thing. Your solutions don't work as i said like 3 or 4 times.
I can't boot to any mode, i'm all time stuck at the warning screen. Don't care if it's fastboot, edl or recovery, can't boot anything at all.

Help!? Bricked my T-Mobile OnePlus 8.

Hello!
I am kinda new and tried to use the tool that's posted but my phone won't power down, it just loops back to fastboot no matter what I do.
Vol up and vol down with power only restarts the loop .
The tool sent something to my phone though last night because now it won't even go into crash dump, just loops fastboot.
PC is still seeing my ADB Android device though.
I had to buy a Nord 10 so I'm not without a workout phone.
Anyone please?
Thank you!

Try getting into download mode if you can.or safe mode anything that could break the cycle of reboot. Hmmm other than that you could always try contacting OnePlus over the phone and see they would remotely do anything or via fastboot commands. They have a lot more tools than we do

OnePlus 8T test poin

Edit :
I managed to have a Deep Flash cable and successfully bring the device to EDL anytime I need. Thanks for the help, guys!
-----------------------------------------
My OnePlus 8T seems hard-bricked, it can not boot anymore, when plugin ( had to disconnected the battery connector ) it's screen only flash the Logo and vibrate then auto reboot and keep looping. So I need the test point map of this device in order to force flash the firmware, hence, if anyone have it's test point map, please help to share. Or any other solutions may work with the situation.
Thanks in advance!
I had something similar happen: see https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/how-to-get-out-of-endless-oos-boot-animation-solved.4366923/
So I'd suggest that you let the battery drain which will turn the phone off. Then charge it for a bit and connect it took the MSM Tool to restore your phone.
