Hello, I currently am running Stock ROM from EE which includes WiFi Calling. I want to use custom ROMs but I cannot due to it not having WiFi Calling, I have asked developers but I have been ignored.
I do not have any signal at work nor at home so I rely on WiFi Calling, how do I put it on a custom rom myself?
Thanks.
I guess a developer should have the right answer . Below is the VoLTE/VoWiFi info I noticed in my devices running Stock fw.:
- your ROM should support VoLTE/VoWiFi, running all the IMS services
- VoLTE and VoWiFi databases are under: /data/data/com.sec.imsservice/databases/. You have info related to all the operators there, including EE. You can even edit them but in your case I guess you will have to do a copy from Stock to Custom. I guess this is the most critical part, I don't know if just copying the files will work.
- Besides this you have to look in the info under /system/CSC and to enable the WiFi Calling there. Pay atention also at ims APN.
Let me know if you managed to make some progress ...
Hi guys,
I need to know something. As many of you already know Reliance Jio uses VoLTE for voice calls in India. Also almost everyone as of now possess a SIM card.
Most of the latest snapdragon chipsets starting from SD 210 has the hardware to support VoLTE according to Qualcomm. But the problem is in the software end.Only a few brands like Samsung,Apple, etc have this feature baked right into the OS.Other manufacturers recently have started rolling out certain OTA patches to enable this feature in their supported devices.
So the big question is:What does this patch do?
What does it change that enables VoLTE in that particular device?
Is it something related to diffrent LTE bands?Does such a patch enable a certain LTE band which enables VoLTE?
Someone please help me regarding this matter.
For what?
I do a little bit of porting and stuff. Many of the users are requesting this feature.I need to know if there is any way to enable this feature in a custom ROM.
Regards,
Gautham C S.
Hello all,
Just for your awareness, there's a way to enable both VoLTE and VoWIFI on MIUI V10 roms (xiaomi.eu included!).
Use these codes in the dialer:
VoLTE *#*#86583#*#*
VoWIFI *#*#869434#*#*
I'm attaching a proof it works from the latest xiaomi.eu beta present on my Mix2s (polish carrier nju mobile/orange)

I don't see the VoWiFi signal in your screenshot, only the VoLTE. Has Xiaomi announced they will support VoWiFi now? I was always able to turn these settings on, but the only one that works is the VoLTE. The WiFi is not supported on the Mix 2s as far as I know with no plans to enable this feature. Even with system modifications, I was able to get the radios toggled on in the *#*#4636#*#* menu, but still none of the radios would actually connect as a VoWiFi call. Even by enabling different radios through QPST didn't enable VoWiFi, so I'm a bit weary of the last one.
If you can, please put your phone in airplane mode, then connect to WiFi only and attempt to make a call. If it works, then VoWiFi is truly enabled. If not, then you just have a fancy setting that doesn't work. Can you please try and report back. Because if this is true, it would eliminate a huge issue of reception in my house, and I will hesitantly head back over to my windows machine to toggle my radios back.
I was going to post the same thing. It does not actually allow you to call over WiFi, at least not in t mobile.
This doesnt work. Airplane mode with WiFi on does not allow calls to dial out.
However, With a Google Fi sim, I can wifi call using the hangouts dialer using the above settings (Airplane mode + WiFi on)

Yeah, I can use Hangouts as well just using my Hangouts dialer, not on project fi. I have it synched to an old Google voice number. But that is using a true VoIP of sorts, so makes sense. That not being my primary number though, and I'm too lazy to switch...

Being with Vodafone, both VoLTE and VoWifi working. Cheers pal
@All claiming not working - you're of course right, that's due to the fact there's no profile in the OS for the providers mentioned
It works on Movistar Colombia
i just have volte icon when i disable with that code.
Strange no?

Can you elaborate? Is there any hope for WiFi calling on Mi9 SE? (MIUI Global 10.3.9 | )
This is a must-have feature for me, so I'll return the phone if there is no way to fix it.

Any idea ?
i am in xiaomi.eu weekly 21.0.7 (MIUI 11/Android 10)
Would this work for Verizon ?
Would this work for Verizon ?
I'm reading the VoLTE websites for my carriers, and all carriers state that you have to have a certified phone (Poco X3 is ofc missing). The only Xiaomi phone on the list is Note 10 lite.
From what I gather the phone must also run the carrier OS, and the carrier puts a patch in their updates that enables volte on it.
So VoLTE will probably never work on custom ROMs, and 99.9% never on phones that that carrier doesn't sell ? Or is this certification info in the firmware and will be available some time in the future and is ROM independant ?
Why didn't they standardize this so all phones could use it ?

- VoLTE is standardized, I dare to say, roughly all smart phones released in the past 4 - 5 years have VoLTE implemented, and only carrier is limiting which phones can use VoLTE in its network - its common practice to only "support" a few selected manufacturers or phone models - why?
- because carrier is trying to support its own sales (if they sell phones)
- because carrier is creating for whatever reason illusion of false exclusivity - if you want to use VoLTE, you need to use only this phone(s) - and best if you'll buy it from us, and we guarantee you, VoLTE will be working
- which is bull****, only limit is how they configure they network - if they allow all phones with VoLTE to use it, they all will - if enabled in MIUI/custom ROM
- when I purchased POCO X3 NFC, it was on the market maybe two weeks, and yet when I inserted sim card from one of my preferred carrier, guess what - VoLTE was on and active from the first start of the phone - yes MIUI needed some persuasion to actually enable and use it - but after I switched to custom ROMs, VoLTE worked out of the box right after first boot...
However, there is a way to enable VoLTE on Xiaomi devices, you can run this code via dialer " *#*#86583#*#* " after that you will get ' VoLTE carrier check disabled ' statement. Under sim card settings you should see VoLTE.
I'm using .eu rom and it works for me I have no idea for aosp based roms.

- thanks for the exact code to enable VoLTE under MIUI, but unless your carrier enable your specific device, or all devices with VoLTE support in his network, VoLTE will not work even after using this code...
Hello from Spain, I have changed the official rom of my Pixel 3, and I have tried several: LineageOs 19, GrapheneOS, CalyxOS and Pixel Experience; Only in the latter (Pixel Experience) do I see the menus to activate 4G (LTE) calls and calls through WiFi ... but it doesn't work, the ims registration does not occur.
The same card (O2/Movistar) inserted in an OPPO mobile (with official firmware) or in a OnePlus 5T (with cooked roms) works. I've been looking for information about the Pixel 3 and they say that it DOES support VoLTE or VoWiFi... but I can't get it to work. I wanted to continue with it for another year... but VoWiFi is essential for me, and I'm using it on the OnePlus 5T... but the battery is much worse than the Pixel.
Has anyone in Spain, or doing something elsewhere, managed to make it work? I am now running the latest version of Pixel Experience from January, running Android 13
I have also searched a lot for a good guide on how to activate VoWif and VoLTE calls. Unfortunately, the phone is so old that no one makes a detailed guide anymore. I would like to activate the VoLTE calls of the Estonian operator.
Same here , i would like to activate VoLTE for unifi mobile (Malaysia or known as TM) , tried various MBN but doesn't work at all.
