If anyone is still on T-Mobile firmware and has installed the latest OTA that has 5G SA, can you pull and upload the modem for me if rooted? I recently updated to DP3 and get horrible service. Mostly because I forgot to flash my backup of the modem from the T-Mobile firmware. I don't know if International firmware contains the updated modem or whatever it is to connect to 5G SA so I figured if someone can pull it, I can fastboot flash it.
Or if someone has the latest OTA, upload it for me and I'll use Payload Dumper to pull the modem.

I would wait to install that update. TMO pulled that ota because it was breaking modem, wifi and such. If you really want it there's a guy who downloaded and proceed the link in over of these posts. I would link it but don't remember which. Happy modding!

Thank you. Unfortunately my dumbass updated to DP3 and didn't flash the modem from T-Mobile and when I updated from Oxygen Updater, it flashed over it so my service has been jank all day. Losing service where I never did when i was on OOS 10. I'm thinking about flashing the latest 5G SA update modem, and if that doesn't work, I'll flash the backup that I have. Only thing is, I don't have TWRP anymore so I have to guess the fastboot commands. It's either "fastboot flash modem modem.img" or fastboot flash modem slot_a/slot_b modem.img" but I'm guessing I don't need the slot_a/slot_b necessarily.

So flashing the backup modem I had and the one the user posted from the link you gave me was a no go. The whole phone bugged. No data whatsoever. Sim card icon with slash through it, no wifi, no quick settings, and phone took about 60+ seconds to boot. Unless I was doing something wrong. Since they were backups, I had to do "fastboot flash modem.emmc.win" command. What do you mean, you can boot TWRP even though it's not built for A11? Or are you referring to the Chinese TWRP that everyone keeps talking about that I can't find?

Shoot sorry about that. I didn't know what version you are on. I'm on TMO running global rooted. You may have to MSM back to stock and start over. This time back up and install your modem. Happy modding!
Edit: just a thought, you may want to reset phone first. Do a complete data reset to see if that helps before doing MSM. Happy modding!

Hi, is anyone here able to backup their persist.img and share it here? I somehow corrupted my partition and my sensors aren't working. I don't know if this applies to this device, but I found this guide on a Xiaomi Mi A1 guide (https://xiaomifirmware.com/guides-and-tips/restore-persist-partition-xiaomi-mi-a1/), or else you can try this (https://youtu.be/LGkDZtQ_ERE?t=124) from 2:04 . If you can achieve the result with a different method you can also share the file here. Thanks in advance to whoever does this.
You're going to need to specify which exact build you're looking for this from...
..or you could just use "Payload Dumper" to extract all the img files from the released packages :
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=818070582850510260
Didn't think it would matter, anyways, I'm on 9.5.5 GM1913, but if needed I can switch to 9.5.4

OK, Here you go. Just to confirm I'm on EU 9.5.5, I have Rice magisk module enabled and ElementalX latest kernel, also rooted with latest Magisk :
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=6006931924117886178
The folder contained the img and 2 other files so I just stuck them in there too.
I note that you're in the US so, the post above mine is T-Mobile version (9.5.6 isn't on other versions I don't think), if that's the one you have you might want to go with theirs.
Thanks guys, both working. I'm not in the US, I randomly chose a country. Anyways I flashed the GM1917 9.5.6 on my GM1913 9.5.4, and no problems. Also tested the 9.5.5 GM1913 and working. I don't think persist is phone/update-dependant, also because OnePlus hasn't done any updates or specific changes to the sensors directly from the persist partition. For anyone interested, just get a persist.img, reboot to fastboot and connect your phone to the computer, type this command into fastboot "fastboot flash persist persist_name_xxxx.img" and reboot.

Glad to hear you're back up and running.
Glad to hear it worked. I don't think 9.5.6 is a T-Mobile patch. Non T-Mobile phones were getting it ota and it fixed an issue for Verizon users. I think 1+is unifying their build numbers back together.

It didn't for me, took a little bit to figure out why my wifi wasn't working with any of the custom kernels that inline the wifi module in the boot img. Used msm tool as well as fastboot ROM... No luck. After finding this persist img and fastboot flashing, no problem since. Was on 9.5.7 Global when flashed.

Sorry to ressurect an old thread. I was just wondering if this persist.img(or this method) can be used to flash the relevant persist.img onto a oneplus 7t pro to restore widevine L1?
I rooted following Maxwell's tutorial (OnePlus 7 Pro - How to Unlock the Bootloader, Install TWRP, and Root with Magisk
).
Now that all is said and done, and my phone is rooted, I noticed that:
1) The wifi does not work. It will not let me enable wifi. Just keeps switching back to off.
2) The speakers don't work.
I need to know how to fix it. What do I do?
I am new to android so I am not sure the steps needed to fix this botched install/operating system/root whatever
U prob flashed the wrong boot.img, make sure to flash the correct model and OS version.

This is probably an error on my end then. I chose "Global 1917 1911" but my about phone page says "1913", however, my phone also says 9.5.1 and there is no 9.5.1 (under 1913) in the link you provided. Do I need to upgrade my OS first before retrying?

yes you will need to upgrade, there was no 9.5.1 full zip released for us to have patched the boot.img. So update and then patch the correct OS and Model version you update to. Let us know if you have any other issues.
I swear nobody reads the threads before starting. Your wifi is disabled because your rooted boot image does not match the version you should have.
Just flash one of the kernels in the roms section, I'm using ElementalX 1.10, wifi will come back up.

Okay. That was it (flashing the wrong boot.img) It's working now - I upgraded to latest OS. Downloaded correct boot.img. Redid the root process with correct files this time, and it worked. BC that is just an extra step not really needed, I haven't even flashed twrp on my device yet, if I need it I will just boot to it, it's so much easier doing this.

Because I'm just following along with the tutorial xda put on YouTube and that's what they say to do
using OnePlus 9 5g from tmobile and looking to convert to internation.anyone had any issues or tips to make sure I don't mess up?
So I come from the OnePlus 9 Pro forum, but the tips are identical because pretty much the same phone except for a few differences.
1. DO NOT FLASH BOOTLOADER
I can't stress this enough, flashing the bootloader will render the MSM tool that OnePlus provides for you USELESS! I figured this out the hard way!
2. Make a full device backup, if you're rooted already use Partitions backup and restore available on the Play Store
3. Keep OEM UNLOCKING ON THE WHOLE TIME! Don't turn it off until and unless you return to complete stock using a MSM tool! Also, keep your bootloader unlocked please.
4. Don't trust random "conversion" folders that flash everything at once without looking at the files, ESPECIALLY not without looking at the .bat file(s) such as a flashall.bat.
Sounds too risky. It's not so simple anymore .
Can I ask a clarifying question @razercortex ? You're saying to not flash the bootloader; does that mean I could simply take the boot.img, do the magisk thing to it, and at least have root? I don't wanna brick my T-Mobile variant here, but I really want to have root.
You don't need to do any of that to root. I'm running the tmo variant and have had root since I unlocked it.
Just grab the rooted boot.img and Fastboot BOOT! THE IMG, run magisk and choose direct install and restart then you got root. If you flash anything, you'll be in trouble most likely so just Fastboot boot boot.img
What if I don't want root, just international version
I am interested to switch from T-Mobile variant to international as well.

I really want international myself. This battery is complete garbage and tmo likes to drag their feet on an update the international got to fix the battery issue weeks ago

@jfsat If you just want root, patching the boot.img with magisk should be good enough. Just don't forget to keep OEM unlocking checked and keep the unlock code just in case. Also, don't relock until you have flashed stock boot.img.

It literally does not matter, but I would recommend flashing the boot.img instead because I don't know what the Direct Install method does to your phone's firmware. Flashing the boot.img works great, it only touches your boot partition and if you have the stock boot you can just flash it back and relock it, no problem. Direct Install could potentially change something else though it looks like it could be fine, but YMMV.

I know how to do it, you need to extract payload.bin from the EU OTA and flash all the partitions, find a tutorial online. Just make sure to make a full backup using Partitions backup and restore on the play store or manually dump partitions from your phone. You don't need userdata, it's too big and probably incompatible with the region change, just a side note that flashing partitions in the super partition (system, vendor, product, system_ext, odm, etc.) requires you to be in fastbootd, so use fastboot reboot fastboot to do so. Other than that, make sure there's an MSM tool available, you can check with OnePlus support.

I'm not sure how you went about rooting it originally, but if you have only flashed boot.img and nothing else. Then yes that is how I would go about doing it on my phone, if I was wanting to go back to locked bootloader. I don't see any issue with doing that after you install the stock boot.img.

Hello!
I tried the search function but my search-fu isn't strong today. I got a Vortex V22 phone from Standup Wireless. I must have been half asleep, because when i flashed what I assumed was the correct boot.img, I got stuck in a boot loop.
On further investigation, I had flashed the boot for another device called Vortex. I am having incredible difficulty in finding the right boot image. The info I have from the side of the box is:
Vortex V22 4G LTE
Color: Graphite Blue
ROM 32GB
RAM 3GB
OS Android 11
FCC ID 2ADLJ-V22
I deeply appreciate any and all help. Thanks so much!
i was trying to find a phone case for the phone what model number is yours ?
If you're still searching I can try to make a rom dump, I have this phone as well brand new untouched or registered.
I'd just need a tutorial on the proper way to dump and extract the files so I can upload the boot.img

I've never used it cause I put the StandUp Wireless sim in my T-Mo InSeeGo 5G HotSpot and prefer to use my Galaxy S8 with Keyboard Cover Case and Unihertz Titan Pocket
Just dumping the firmware from mine, using SP Flash Tool. Used this guide: https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-12719.html
Will remove userdata & cache, but there is a LOT of gbs of system data. This phone is appearently Treble-enabled with VNDK ver 30, so yes, you can flash a GSI on there. Will provide a custom recovery necessary.
Edit: if you were wondering, this phone has a MT6761 with a eMMC flash.

I have the V22. I've unlocked the BL and trying to install a custom rom via ADB or Fastboot but have had no luck. I try to erase or flash and I get errors saying partitions don't exist. Can you please help out with a recovery file?
I tried the hovatek guide but didn't have any luck, but I tried it before the BL was unlocked. Would that be an issue with the sp flash tool? I was told it shouldn't matter.

Sorry for waiting so long! Yeah, I got the firmware! Also follow previous guys post! Do you want my boot.img? Make sure you disable Android Verified Boot too!

Also this is a GSI image that works with this device - https://github.com/phhusson/treble_experimentations/releases/tag/v313 - newer versions might not work unfortunately.

You need to reboot to userland fastboot, which you could do by rebooting to normal fastboot then telling fastboot to reboot to fastboot by typing in fastboot reboot fastboot. You will see a new screen, and now you could flash a GSI to the phone.

I was able to get a bunch of GSI's that work with it, including the phone you posted, but I was looking to get root and found a couple pre-rooted GSI's that work as well. Newer ones do work as well I has 13 rooted and working. However, I liked the Pixel ROMs the best and would prefer to install those instead and then root. So I need the firmware for that so I can patch a modified boot.img.

Thank you. I understand and have a lot of experience with this. However, I still never understood why there is two Fastboot's.
I can't get it to boot in one I flash the super that I backed up that don't get it to boot maybe I could use a good super. What about vbmeta?

Are you looking for a good GSI ROM?
As of right now I'm just trying to get it booted up with any room. I got it rooted and then something I ****ed up when I tried to flash a GSI. And I started messing with the boot a boot b vbMeta from system and blank. And I don't have the firmware an the super that I backed up won't boot when I flash it.
But yes I am indeed looking for a good running a12 rom

I completely messed up one messing with partitions and it took many tries trying to get to was able to still get to the bootloader fastboot and then recovery to fastbootD. You should be able to get it booted into fastbootd and flash as it seems you can.
Try the one below. you should be able to find it with a google search. If you can't let me know and I will try to look and see where I downloaded it from as I cannot remember where I found it.
I've tried many GSI ROM's Some boot fully, some only boot to the boot screen and some won't boot at all.
I'm using 13 rooted LineageOS GSI version 20-20230324-UNOFFICIAL-arm64_bvS
It is vanilla. I can't remember if there is a GAPPS version or not. But you can load it all after with magisk. But its rooted.
I still would like if picelboi could share the stock rom, so we can have a boot.img. I would like to try other ROM's that are not PRE-Rooted.

I can't remember which A12 I had working but I was looking for root and the one A12 that was prerooted I had issues with so I went to A13.
This is an A13. LineageOS GSI version 20-20230324-UNOFFICIAL-arm64_bvS
There may be a newer version of it now.
Also, these phones seem have that internet connect issue with some GSI ROMS and this is one of them I think, they connect to wifi but they won't actually connect to internet, but there is a easy fix for it.
