I waited a moment before posting this thread, but now I am really annoyed with this problem.
In the lock screen, often it takes a few times to unlock device with my fingerprint. Let me say that I have already 2 phones with fingerprint unlock : a OnePlus 5t and a Xiaomi Mi Max 3.
On both of them, no problem with any of the 5 fingers registered.
On the Poco and its "cool" on screen fingerprint, it's a pain to get unlocked quickly. Most of the time, I need to smash my finger over one second or two to unlock. If it get unlocked!
Miui 12 didn't improve nothing: same problem.
It's a fault of a bad software? The decision to use software instead of the old hardware fingerprint sensor seems to be not so good. It is my first phone which use the screen sensor to unlock, maybe other phones make it better.
Another problem: why I can't set up a wallpaper on the lock screen other than those offered by Miui - Xiaomi? It's impossible to set up one of my own photos - wallpapers on the lock screen.

You can set any photo, go the gallery, select a photo, click on three dots, select the wallpaper option and set it.
I hope this helps.
Yeah, using stock Gallery it works, thanks!
But, if I use instead Simple Gallery (my favourite), it does not work.
With Nova lchr, it doesn't work indeed. I'm talking only about lock screen wallpaper.
On the fingerprint front, it seems that the new update 12.0.3 doesn't change the things too much for me. Almost same unresponsiveness for me.
Honestly I don't face any real difference compared to my gf's Galaxy S9 with rear fingerprint scanner.
Did you try to delete them and let the phone learn them again?

Yes, I've registered again the fingerprints.
I don't think about a hardware failure, as I suppose the hardware is the screen itself, and it seems to work well.
Mostly it is the response delay. The OnePlus is almost instantaneous, far far away from the Poco.
I can definitely say fingerprint sensor on k30 pro/poco f2 pro sucks.
until the latest stable, 12.0.8.0, there is no noticeable improvement.
I am using a glass screen protector as we all should do.
I have the same problem with my fingerprint to unlock the device. I even have a big problem adding the fingerprint to the device.
are you using some kind of thick glass protector?
Most of them on the market are 0.33mm thick, and fingerprint sensors are only rated for 0.15mm, so if you put one of those will work, but not flawless and slow
Yes, I use a screen protector, I understand that this can lead to delays.
I have now deleted my current fingerprint again and created it again. This time I put a lot of pressure on the display and lo and behold, unlocking is now possible without delay.

In the beginning, my F2 came with original sc protector, I had registered the first fingerprints with it.
Then, I registered new ones without it. That's when I decided to write here some days after.
I don't know if it sucks or not this device detection, because it is my first one with on screen hype.
But I'm sure that it is far slower than my "old" OnePlus and my middle - low specs (on processor) Mi Max 3.
And I have same problem than someone adding the fingerprints, same need for big pressure to register the right way.
Curious, i just received my F2 Pro a few hours ago, and the fingerprint scanner works really fine, takes about half a second to unlock, just very slightly slower than my OnePlus 7 Pro (but by 0.2 sec i would say)

I must add, to my others posts, that I had activated the "Show Taps" option in the Developer settings. Once I deactivated it again, things were working better with the fingerprint recognition, both on registration and unlocking.

just tap the kernel version to enter CIT menu.
My K30 Pro Zoom with Poco rom works fine for me with screen protector on. It sometimes misread but that's not very common. Yes it seems a bit slower than the back fingerprint but I don't really mind that much as it's not that much of a difference.

O.K, the Samsung Galaxy A20 is a budget phone (I bought mine for AU$239) so I do not expect any "flagship" performance but the initial attraction was the Amoled display that has some degree of daylight readability, reasonable camera performance, the relatively big battery capacity for SoC size and the glimmer of hope in rooting this device.
After a little while, some things becomes apparent which I would like to share:
There is no light sensor so screen brightness cannot adapt to ambient light....a strange and disappointing omission
The phone is made in Vietnam not South Korea...just an observation
The heavily embedded bloat from Samsung and Google is chronic in magnitude and its primary purpose is for harvesting personal information and pushing ads
Fingerprint lock works efficiently but the rear sensor is hard to locate
WiFi reception range is poor.
The Android One UI is pleasingly clean but the Settings menus are a bit disorganized
Root can be achieved relatively easily but is "precarious" to say the least.

It had no light sensor but somehow it uses the cameras to adjust to ambient light.
Update after using for some time.....
I really miss not having a notification LED - a backwards step to delete it for the notched display fad. An edge LED would have been great but that would cost 3c to include.....
Mobile reception is noticeably weaker than my old Moto G 2013 and Xiaomi Redmi Note2 - another backwards step!

I agree. I came from a Nexus 6P and found the notification light very handy. It's not a deal breaker for me though.
Does anyone know if the A20 has an oleophobic layer on the screen?
This might be stupid question but why does my A20 SM-A205G not have NFC there is no options under settings or on status bar to activate it but I see some SM-A205U have it and other 205g have enabled, do I have the chip in phone already? Just need to flash other firmware to use it? Has anyone else had any luck activating NFC?
I've had the phone about a month now and coming from an LG V30 before this I can say that despite all the cons I'm overall happier with this phone over that garbage. Barely.
Pros:
The A20 camera is much better with low light
Apps seem to crash less
I also like the Samsung UI more than I expected
The samsung keyboard is so much better than any other keyboard I've been able to find in the app store
I like how the lock button is on the side instead of the back like on the V30
Cons:
The camera is still pretty grainy even in sunlight
The auto screen brightness sucks balls. I can't even count how many times the screen dimmed & brightened just in the last few mins while I'm sitting in one spot
I also very much notice the lack of ram. It feels really laggy at times, like a 5 second delay when I'm just typing or sometimes I'll tap and it'll register as a hold
I can easily see the downgrade in screen resolution when watching videos
The proximity sensor. I'll be in a call and occasionally my face will mute the call or dial numbers
Or when I had the feature activated to double tap to turn on the screen, it would turn on in my pocket all the time and mess with buttons or sliders. On numerous occasions my phone would be ringing and I'd pull it out to find out my leg was messing with the volume slider. Not once did the LG do that
And finally I should've looked into the ability to root this phone before I got it. I have the A205U sadly and didn't make sure it's even unlockable with all the extensive research I was doing while I was looking to replace my LG

I am facing ghost touch issue in poco X2 and the problem is getting worse day by day! Anyone who faced similar problem in X2?
I have touch issues also; the screen registers touches when my fingers are near the screen; it worse for me when charging. If you are in India and bought it from Flipkart; I would ask that you raise it with them as soon as possible. I have asked for a replacement on june 17 and their response is abysmal.
Same ghost touch issue here...

Yes, I also have been facing it since last 2-3 weeks.
I think it might be due to some update in some software, mostly keyboard. I am using Microsoft SwiftKey as keyboard. What about you?

Doesn't matter, even the displays from Huaxing in Redmi Note 9 Pro has bleeding and retention issues, so goodbye Xiaomi, i guess.
It's a hardware issue in my case (India)
I bought a brand new Poco X2 on 11th July and got it delivered on 13th July. I have been using Xiaomi phones for the last 2 years so the learning curve with MIUI wasn't much for me, the only thing I needed to get accustomed to was the form factor.
From the very first day, the keyboard used to double tap. While playing PUBG, it would auto press some buttons (reload, backpack etc.). Also, the gestures weren't particularly great.
Initially, I thought it happened because I wasn't used to it, but after 10 days the problem persisted. That's when I decided to do a deep dive. I downloaded several multi-touch test apps, and indeed, it showed the problem of ghost touching. Even while touching the screen once, the max. events would show 2.
On top of this, I faced a very poor screen flickering issue.
I submitted my phone to the service centre on 28th July. They said even though they have not received any X2 with such complaints, there indeed seems to be something abnormal with my phone. It could either be the display or the motherboard or the PCB or the worst - a combination of 2 and 3. So it's either a repair or a replacement at this point. They have asked for 6-7 days, so let's see.
But if you are using the device and facing such issues, don't hesitate to raise your voice.
If you're planning to buy the device, RUN AS FAR AS YOU CAN FROM THIS ONE. Don't buy this.

The situation with Poco X2 in compare to other Xiaomi phones is still much better. Poco X2 at least doesn't have miserable tianma panel. Problems will occur but majority of don't get any issues
The Face unlock does not seem to work in the night. It works perfectly alright on the Poco F1 and really really fast! Its one of the best Face unlocks one can experience. You also see the Infrared light glow when it tries to Unlock. However, this is completely missing on the Poco X3.
Because it doesnt have IR Sensor on its front that has capability on seeing light even on the dark... While the Poco X3 NFC has the capability to have a face unlock, it still need a decent light to scan up faces and it uses A.I. Tech

You would be right, but isn't that like a downgrade. Its not that I will be using it very frequently, but i did notice right on the first night, so probably it is going to be missed out.
Given the situation, I dont think this can be fixed in the next updates as well.

POCO F1 is Series Flagship, and Poco X3 is midrange. so technically it is downgrade. and if you don't know how IR camera works, good luck for using it at night.

Yeah, its permanent, you cant tweak it because it is on its hardware... it doesnt have the capability... because if they would add ir sensor, it will cost them again at designing and manufacturing it so it would cost maybe $20-$40 more on the Poco X3's price and that would that personally me can't buy it because I'm really on a tighta budget
The 'spirit' or idea of the poco series was supposed to be budget flagship. The first Poco F1 had things missing to reduce cost. Like plastic back etc.
This year the SD865 an SD865 plus had 5G modums making it very difficult to repeat the exact success of the F1.
So this year they aimed for flagship 'experience' as well as low cost with a midrange device. Again some things left out to reduce cost.
They could of left out NFC for me an put front firing infrared camera for face unlock.
In New Zealand almost no one uses NFC. We use pay wave on chipped debit cards instead.
But the X3 hits the mark of providing a flagship experience mostly.
The F2 pro missed it in 2 major ways. Price an refresh rate. It got way too high in price in an effort to repeat the F1 experience.
So the X3 is a nice middle ground.
Can't wait till I try mine in November
You guys are missing a major point here, although there is no IR Camera, but thank God, there is also not a huge f**ing notch on it's forehead

It is known, that Pixel 6 and 7 phones oversharpen in certain situations. It is quite prominent in 2x portrait mode.
Trouble is not in the fact itself, but in impossibility to configure the intensity of post-processing.
I'm not getting what you're getting in the clouds in the first 3 pictures of yours. Mine aren't taken in ultrawide though. What do your cloud pictures look like without ultrawide?

As to whether you should return it before confirming that it's always a problem depends on when you're initial (15?) day grace period is up. If it's up very soon, then I would consider returning it and ordering another separately - that way you're guaranteed a brand-new, not refurbished phone. I assume by now that there are at least some refurbished ones available.
Otherwise, you could contact Google and see if they'll guarantee you a new replacement, which would avoid the hassle of return/refund/re-order.
That all said...
Personally, I doubt if there is anything wrong with your hardware. On the Pixel 6 Pro, I remember light flares being a huge problem, especially in night photos just after I got mine, and I remember noticing at some later date that I no longer noticed the issue, so they likely adjusted the camera software or Android firmware in some way to compensate for this.

Alternatively, you could use GCAM and adjust the post-processing according to your needs.
Gcam is FULLY working on Pixel devices, it just needs a few configuration steps and viola, "better" than stock camera since it gives you almost "full" manual control over post-processing.

BSG latest works with Pixel 7 Pro perfectly. You just need to set the interface to Pixel 6 Pro. Also, it would need some fine tuning in the settings, since lenses are detected, but wrongly "named", and the 5X is not there, I mean the button is 4x, but it's the digital zoom, and if you expand to 5x manually with fingers it goes to the 5x lens automatically. That needs to be adjusted.
Otherwise, it works great without any configuration on the sensors, photos are stock like (can be adjusted of course to "better") and video fully works like on stock, including OIS, slow motion too and timelapse.

The latest BSG with interface set too Pixel 6 Pro, it shows a 4x, but if you start zooming in manually by sliding 2 fingers, after it gets 5x digital, it switches to the physical zoom lens. It works perfectly fine on P7P.

Shows 5x for me. No need to zoom manually.
And yeah I just tried something, I cleared app data and set the interface to Pixel 6 Pro. Now it says 4x.
Try the attached config, if you wish (credit goes to SkyKing007), it should "fix" the tele button.
Alternatively you can search for "tele" in the developer settings and set the "camera.ultra_tele_zoom_ratio_facing_back" to 5.0.
I know that it over sharpenes the 2x potrait but it's pretty weird to me that it's doing the same in main or ultra wide camera even my previous OnePlus 9 pro haven't done this ..

Trouble is not in the fact itself, but in impossibility to configure the intensity of post-processing.

I'm not getting what you're getting in the clouds in the first 3 pictures of yours. Mine aren't taken in ultrawide though. What do your cloud pictures look like without ultrawide?

It's more or less the same the 1st photo is taken on the standard main camera.

Thak you for the suggestions,I just got the phone tomorrow I would continue to check if its a consistent problem or not ,as much as I know pixels get update with in the 1st week of every month so I will wait to see if the November update improves something..
@jericho246 thanks for the config! which version should i use? ...ENG.apk or ...MGC.apk?

Improve what? This is how pixels take photos. No joking here, maybe just go back to what you had? Or your phone is defective. Try a new one first.

Hmm interesting, I made quick comparision in all modes and stock gcam making better photos, more details in most of situations, but differences are small. Actualy this is first situation I ever noticed where stock app is better than any modded gcam, well stock is gcam

For Pixel phones it doesn't matter which one you use. I use the MGC one.
I'm seriously confused about people using gcam, on well, a pixel. The pixel has gcam!
Hey guys,
I have just ordered myself the HONOR Magic Vs (Live in the UK) so I'll be able to do some comparison between the two devices.
Just from the spec sheets, they do look quite similar with the Thinness aspect going to the Mix Fold 2 and the Battery size going to the Magic Vs...
The biggest plus of the Magic Vs is the "Global" factor. It has full Google support, and no Chinese bloatware (which is a little strange for a Huawei... aahhh sorry HONOR device )
For more specific impressions, after I receive it. Should only take a couple of days (I hope) It is a local UK delivery after all...
Another thing to consider is the price! Currently, it is "only" £1199 with the £200 discount promo code they give you when you register at the hihonor.com website. The standard price after 25.05 will be £1399 or 1599 Euro in some EU countries...
If you would like to know anything specific, just ask. I'll answer all questions when I get it.

I thought about buying the Honor Magic Vs or Tecno Phantom V Fold. But the Honor inner screen is max 90Hz and has a camera hole. Tecno is not really known yet.
So i bought the Xiaomi Fold 2 in sale (€1000), unlocked the bootloader and rooted it. I made it more global with Magisk modules.
Before the Xiaomi Fold 2 i had the Vivo X Fold. It has great camera's, loved the two in-display fingerprint readers and mute switch. But thinks like Android Auto didn't work and Vivo doesn't want you to unlock the bootloader.
I skip the Oppo Find N2 and maybe also the Google Pixel Fold because i don't like it in size.
Still curious what you think about the Honor Magic Vs.
Since you asked it here on XDA forum, of course I will recommend Xiaomi devices over Huawei/Honor ones. I will never take a device with non-unlockable bootloader into account!
I have both.
TBH I prefer the Xiaomi. Even though the Honor magic vs has full GMS /Android auto so you dont need to root, it lacks basics like wifi calling/volte
If it didn't have the internal selfie camera, I might have been more inclined. This is one of the deciding factors for the Mix Fold 2 too. Completely un-interrupted inner screen.

Cameras are 50MP Main, 6MP Telephoto with 3x optical zoom, and 50MP Wide angle. Should be able to produce quite reasonable results.

Yeah, the camera hole can be annoying but all other foldables I've owned had it (except the Mix Fold 2) that I'm used to it. If the software can be made to ignore it, I'll be reasonably happy...
Hey guys,
I've been playing for a while with the Magic Vs and here are some initial thoughts of mine:
1. Everything just works! Global ROM is a blessing that you can only fully appreciate after you had several years of Chinese ROMs on Devices not made for Global use. Even some apps look a little different than the versions I have in the Mix Fold 2. All google services are happily running, Android Auto is integrated into the software.
The only thing that makes me miss Root a little bit is AdAway. It still works but with Root it works better. All My banking apps work flawlessly, Fingerprint is not iffy with them (have an issue with it in the Lloyds Banking App on the Mix Fold 2)
2. Hardware and build quality wise it is quite nice. It feels as good as the Mix Fold 2. The camera hole on the internal screen is not that bad although I know some people will hate it. Battery life seems better for now but it is too early for that. I'll have to use it at least for a week to give you more accurate notes on that.
The sound is on par and maybe a little bit better sounding... Most probable because there is a little bit more space inside for better speaker chambers... Don't know... A lot nicer rind and Alarm melodies BTW
On that note, the device does not feel any thicker than the Mix Fold 2. Both screens are a couple of mm smaller but the difference is negligible...
3. No notification issues so far... The is one strange thing that all app notifications are not enabled by default but the first time you start the app, it will ask for all needed permissions like in a normal phone for the Global market.
Google Assistant is fully integrated and working. "Hey Google" works even on a locked phone.
The always-on display shows all notifications. NetFlix is fully supported with HDR10...
Basically, it shows what the Mix Fold 2 could have been if it had proper Global software.
One more interesting thing I found just now is that due to some Honor... Magic... the Gboard keyboard switches from a normal one to the split type the moment you go to the big screen... and stays like that in both portrait and landscape... Miracle
I'm doubtful to buy the Honor Magic vs. The 12GB/512GB global model now only costs €1005 at pdaplaza, but i've now got pretty much everything working on my Xiaomi Mix Fold 2. Choices.
