hi,
i just rooted my mz601 3.2 and i want to install the ics everest.
can someone please let me know how i can wipe the xoom prior the ics flash?
i have cwm recovery installed .

Boot into recovery you'll find a list of options there. It would also be a good idea to read "Xoom Heaven" posted in the general section first.
Your going to have to Wipe Data and factory Reset, Wipe Cache partition than scroll to advanced and Wipe the Dalvik Cache. After that go to Install zip from SD card.

what cache / data do i need to wipe when i will flash an updated ics rom?
do i stiil need to wipe all of the above and loose my aps and data again?

I Personally like to do the full wipe thing, just as you did before. Because that's one less thing you don't have to consider when having problems.

In the Wipe Menu in Recovery here are these options:
- rom
- cache
- dalvik
- cache/ dalvik
- data
Can someone tell what happens when each of these are "Wiped" ?
I'm currently using a Samsung Galaxy Exhibit 4G which is rooted and cmw-based recovery v6.0.1.2
I'd really appreciate if you guys can help me.

1.Rom? no option for that
2.Cache-it will wipe of all useless data in your phone
3.Dalvik-Very important . to avoid a hundred issues before installing a mod/rom
4.Cache/Dalvik-same as 3
5.Data- You will lose all your apps,settings,some mods.
your rom will be fresh again and it can avoid minor problems.
what i did was wipe cache and dalvik if update rom / kernel
wipe cache, dalvik, and data if install new rom.

Even though I never wiped cache and dalvik to install a new kernel, yes, you are correct, it is better to do these before installing new kernel, For installing a new ROM, wipe cache, dalvik and data but make sure, you back up your data first.
I may not suggest to wipe data for updates,but it may be necessary in flashing new roms.zip.............:thumbup:

Hello everyone,
I installed the M3 version of CM11 tonight but after i flashed it via CWM when I unlock the screen I have an error about Trebuchet saying that it stopped. The error appears after every reboot.
I also lost all of my screens adjustments (icons, widgets, ...).
I switched back to my M2 backup for now
If you have any advice.. you're welcome! ;]

Backup your files and do a full wipe when you flash M3, this is the best solution imo.

Will the full wipe delete every datas on my phone? Even the backups?

No, the backups will not be deleted.
In recovery:
- data factory reset
- wipe cache and dalvik cache
- Flash M3 and you`re done and there should be no fc`s anymore

The data/factory reset that gee2012 is suggesting will wipe your installed apps and app data from your phone, but wont touch anything on your sd card which includes backups.
I would think going from M2 to M3 would only require a cache and dalvik cache wipe though.

If as you say you have fc`s i would suggest a clean install with a full wipe.

Hi i used the clear cache in twrp 3.0.0.0 and it seems to corrupt my Cache partition, can anyone give me the Stock Rom to flash or the cache partition or a way to repair it? thanks a lot!
There're stock images to flash via SPFlashTool in 'Blu development' in General section.
By the way, what's the error in TWRP?

Hey, I want to full wipe and clean install latest firmware to my S908E.
Is there any way to wipe nearly all partitions (including odm and system) without TWRP? And if it is possible, how can we do that?
