Hello guys,
which apps are safe to debloat on the Nord device?
Should i use titantium backup do delete those or should i use Magisk (debloat), with terminal functions?
What are the difference between those two methods?
I would prefer the Magisk debloater module. It does not modify the system partition. I thinks this is a big advantage.
In the last days I played with systemizer and debloater modules. I haven't had problems with both. Very impressing.

My Nord just not arrived yet.
I played with debloater on my Oneplus X (LineageOS). I removed the lineage music player and gallery. Only to test it.
The first app on my Nord that I will remove is Facebook.

Any difference from uninstalling via adb ? If the magisk debloater is not modifying the system partition it should be the same thing no ?

I am not sure. I don't know the adb method. Maybe somebody can explain it.

Of course! you can use commands on android debug bridge (adb) that disables packages for the user, they are not deleted, however any app system app can be disabled and is not active anymore.
The command you use is "pm uninstall -k --user 0 <package>", furthermore if you want to have a overview over everything that is installed on your device, type "pm list packages" , it spits out every single app on your device.
before using these, type "adb shell", that's all

I know I can get it from other sources, but I would be very interested to see if we get an x86 optimised version when we download it directly from the Razr i.
As far as i've read on Androidpolice, they started rollin it out in the USA and will add other countrys later. Here in Germany we can't download it, too.

Mmmm... I can't believe Google did not even bother to produce a version for x86! If you try to install this keyboard as it is, or even manually push it to /system/apps, it will fail on x86...
I managed to make it work with houdini arm emulation though, and it does seem better than the previous version I extracted from a Nexus 4 JB 4.2.2 rom. I will update my keyboard post soon.

Yes, Google completely left out x86 users. Lucklily, I have made a CWM package to make it work on the Razr i; you can get it from my other keyboard thread.

When I put themes in hwthemes folder and install it from themes app they don't change any thing
By the way I used these themes before on kk and lollipop and they worked
Can any one help ?
I am using marshmallow and themes work just fine. I know this is not of great help to you but at least you'll know it's probably not a ROM issue.

No, but if needed, I will root it. Can You advice an easy way to root (and after fixing maybe un-root?) the Mate 8?
EDIT: just checked (with ES file explorer: HwSystemManager.apk IS in system/private/HwSystemManager map, but PhoneManager does not show up on Android app list, and according to debloater com.huawei.systemmanager is "blocked" -and I cannot unblock it ("your device does not support block").
I have tried to install HwSystemManager apk, as found in system/ private; "app not installed" is the response. Is root the only solution to sort it out?
In the meanwhile did some reading: Chainfire or Kingroot is an option for easy rooting my Mate 8?

Seems like not
you can not even go to lower MM. i was on G920FXXS4DPG2_G920FOXX3DPD1_TPH, and constantly failing to go back to original TWO_Croatia G920FXXU3DPDP_G920FOXX3DPD1_TWO,
not even smart switch or kies 3 emergency recovery would work, with odin phone reported cm sw rev check fail device 4 binary 3.

Hey all,
So I'm running root Magisk and you guys are all probably aware of this issue, I just can't find the solution online at the moment, most articles lead to just awareness of the issue but no solution.
Anyone know how I can start doing OTA updates on my Pixel with Magisk to get around the "Couldn't update -- Installation problem". Obviously it must be working if there are instructions for doing so.
Any help to fix this would be great.

Yikes, what a miss. So basically if I altered any of the system directory like reverting a user app to a system app I'm screwed?
edit: If that's the case, can I revert back to the magisk boot partition while not connected to adb, and just do a reflash of magisk and my phone will reboot properly?
Exactly

Did you manage to figure this out?
If I just sideload the OTA would that work (I'd assume it would get rid of Magisk, but would it causes problems or bootloops etc)?

having anything other than pure stock will cause OTAs to fail. u can manually flash update images or sideload otas through ADB
