[Q] Droid2 Global - Car Charger Problem

Hello all - I ran into a problem with my phone and a new car. I have a car equipped with the Ford Sync software and when I plug the phone into the USB port it starts playing some navigation route I took about 6 months ago. It continuously connects and disconnects. It never acts like it is going to charge the phone which is all I really want it to do.
Is there a way to change a setting that will tell the phone to only charge and not try to sync any data like there used to be on my WinMo phone?
you have to drag the status bar down ( top of screen with time, battery, usb, ect)
when usb is connected you will see
ongoing
tap on usb connection
select charge only or try windows media sync or usb mass storage
if you don't see this when connected to car
try a computer, phone will remember setting

What phone model is this?

Anyone?
Also would HTC Desire charger work with it? (the sticks looks same - microUSB, but looks like the phone is not charging)
Also if the phone is dead, is there any way i can check if the battery/screen or whatever else is faulty?
When i connect it under Windows with USB cable, it says that the device cannot be recognized and the drivers cannot be installed.
When connected with USB, i did hold the power button to turn it on but it doesnt start and the phone keeps vibrating continuusly.
Look on the back, or inside, even under battery, for more information.
I already know it's Samsung Galaxy Mini II, homever i have issues turning it on.
All microusb chargers are the same except for amperage. Try all you have. This phone is probably terminally damaged, but try a new battery if possible.
It's really strange (the phone was little wet) homever, sometimes it's starting just fine and sometimes wont turn on at all.
I have removed battery and put it to the bowl with a rice for a night and will see if that helps.
My "dampness" recovery is to disassemble and put phone/tab/laptop in in very low oven ie 125-135 degrees F for several hours. You may have ti turn oven on & off manually to get that low temperature. Your mileage may vary.
OK so basically the phone is in following state:
It's charging fine, homever the biggest problem atm is i cannot get the usb mass storage to work.
I'm connecting it to the PC and the phone is detecting it as AC charger not USB - PC is not even trying to install any drivers.
PC is not detecting the phone at all (phone is detecting that its being connected, the button backlights are lighting up)
I got no dropdown in the phone to select charging, mass storage etc. (when i do it in settings/communication/usb settings it keeps saying to connect the usb cable, but the phone is charging so its connected just fine)
When i was connecting it for the first time windows tried to install drivers but failed, also it was constantly disconnecting the phone from usb cable (now its fine it seems)
When i connect it using "Kies Air" it's working homever i still dont see the SD Card in "My Computer" for example.
What a mess, anyway any idea how to get the USB working again?
Try different cable, and/or different PC.
I ordered new usb cable, homever i doubt it's the problem as the phone is recognizing connection and also it's charging fine.

Android Auto USB disconnections

Hello everyone,
I'm writing this topic because I've an annoying problem with my OnePlus One, which is a wonderful compagnion fr everyday life.
Recently I bought a brand new Seat Ibiza, loaded with an infotainment system, with Android Auto, MirrorLink and Apple Car connectivity. Android Auto works greatly BUT from the beginning, I've got an issue with this. When I plug the OPO to the car via USB, all works great, and randomly (but often after 30 minutes), the OPO seems to shutdown the USB port. I think the problem is on the OPO side because when I unplug the USB cable on the car side, that have no effect, but when I do the same on the OPO, the connection restart and Android Auto start again.
I've tried with USB Debugging, Charge mode only, MTP mode, with another cables ... Many things but nothing that really works fine, with COS 12.1 and now with COS 13. Sometime, the headunit display a message "verify your smartphone, it seems that the device is locked" but all the screen locks are OFF, and in the Automobile system profile, I've told him to NOT lock the phone.
Anyone have an idea of the problem ?
Thank you for your answers :good:
I'm seeing the same issue...

I'm seeing the same issue with my OPO, and I have not yet been able to fix it. I've read threads that said turn on USB Debugging and turn Battery Optimization off for Android Auto. The best I've come up with is using the original OPO USB cable and leaving it loose, but even this has only minimized the issue.

Hardbricked phone, ticking noise

Hello! Yestreday my Xiaomi mi4 LTE was connected to charger, when came back i found it dead. Nothing helped - leaving at charger etc. no signs of life. Then i removed the back cover, and removed battery as once it fixed it. But this time didnt help. The thing is, when connected to pc it shows unknown device, so i cant use miflash, fastboot or anything else. But.. with the usb board connector disconnected from MOTHERBOARD when the USB MODULE alone is connected to pc, it also shows up as unknown device. If the USB charging module is attached to board, then right in front of folume buttons there is ticking noise, and the red led at the bottom oh phone comes up
What i`ve tried - leaving it connected to charger for night, removing battery and then reconnecting it.
The questions i have are:
1)https://ru.aliexpress.com/item/Micr...lgo_pvid=f2881e4b-8cb6-4aba-a30b-5f07ed48a1c9 when this is connected to pc ALONE without motherboard.. is it supposed to show up somehow? Can anyone try to remove that connector from board, and then connected it to pc? Becouse without anything connected to that module, it still shows up as unknown device..
2)When connected to usb... is that part of motherboard that is right in front of volume buttons - supposed to tick? It makes noise similiar to the noise that the wrist watches make..constant ticking/electric noise. And its not speaker, becouse speaker is also disconnected.
Is it worth trying to replace the usb connector, or its likely that the board also is dead?

Phone starts charging ext. DAC & draining battery fast ?

I want use the LG V30 as a streaming audio device and connect it to my HiFi setup via external DAC - audiolabs mini M-DAC.
This DAC has an PC/Android OTG micro USB port for connectivity and also a built in battery for optional portable use. I leave the DAC plugged into power and don’t use it as a portable device.
When I connect the V30 to the audiolabs mini M-DAC using a standard USB-C to micro USB cable the phone goes into USB “Power Supply” connection mode. Although the audio works fine with the DAC using the USB Audio Player Pro app it rapidly depletes the phone battery.
I have tried to manually switch the USB connection mode to “Charging” and others but it just reverts back to “Power Supply” connection mode.
Can anyone help figure this out ?
I don’t think this issue is limited to V30 phone and no one in the V30 thread has been able help with it. For this reason I’m trying the general QA.
I’m guessing the issue is to do 2 way charging offered by USB-C port. Ideally I would like the phone to be able connect to the DAC and draw power from it or at least remain passive.
My phone is Rooted if that helps.
