Hardbricked phone, ticking noise - Xiaomi Mi 4

Hello! Yestreday my Xiaomi mi4 LTE was connected to charger, when came back i found it dead. Nothing helped - leaving at charger etc. no signs of life. Then i removed the back cover, and removed battery as once it fixed it. But this time didnt help. The thing is, when connected to pc it shows unknown device, so i cant use miflash, fastboot or anything else. But.. with the usb board connector disconnected from MOTHERBOARD when the USB MODULE alone is connected to pc, it also shows up as unknown device. If the USB charging module is attached to board, then right in front of folume buttons there is ticking noise, and the red led at the bottom oh phone comes up
What i`ve tried - leaving it connected to charger for night, removing battery and then reconnecting it.
The questions i have are:
1)https://ru.aliexpress.com/item/Micr...lgo_pvid=f2881e4b-8cb6-4aba-a30b-5f07ed48a1c9 when this is connected to pc ALONE without motherboard.. is it supposed to show up somehow? Can anyone try to remove that connector from board, and then connected it to pc? Becouse without anything connected to that module, it still shows up as unknown device..
2)When connected to usb... is that part of motherboard that is right in front of volume buttons - supposed to tick? It makes noise similiar to the noise that the wrist watches make..constant ticking/electric noise. And its not speaker, becouse speaker is also disconnected.
Is it worth trying to replace the usb connector, or its likely that the board also is dead?

Touch pro usb doesn't work? (not the syncing)

Well for a while I thought my usb just died on my phone. I thought it got wrecked by physical damage like a power surge coming through mah pc when booting up and such...
But I just thought, well what the heck, and I flashed an old htc stock rom.
Now when I connected my phone to the pc, my touch pro gave me the 3 option screen.
activesync,sd,internet
But the pc did not detect any new hardware .
So I sadly flashed back to my energy rom. But al of the sudden when I wanted to connect my touchpro to the pc for charging, it asked me what to do (3 option scnreen), and the also detected my touch pro (well now my touchpro, it just saw something got connected).
So my pc tried ti install the drivers, it said it installed pockec sync usb something. But device center didn't notice any phone.
So I thought, too bad, but whne I disconnected the phone I heard a sound when disconnecting usb hardware.
Now the pc doesn't detect my touch pro when plugging in.
But this is proof it isn't physical damage (atleast I think).
Cause of the usb failure.
I was flashing a couple of months ago, when it suddenly started to stop at the middle. (each time it was another point so no damaged rom).
so I was able to flash it form my pc that time, but the times after that I had to flash from sd. Also when I tried to connect my phone, the pc lost connection with the phone after 40 secs.
Does someone know what to do? Please help me, usb is kinda important .
Btw, I have got this problem at every pc, also with every cable.
And now windows keeps saying an unkown device connected.
And shortly after windows detected my phone it undetects its.
(i hear two beeps in a row)
Yes I have disabled fast usb to pc
I forgat to mention that my pc doesnt reconize the device,
and with this rom my touchpro doesn't know it is connected
(It doesnt want to sync or anything), doesnt see it got plugged in.
Is there n1 here wich knows the solution??!
This problem is caused by damaged mini usb port on your device.
Actually this this new mini usb with 11 pin used in Touch Pro in & many other HTC device has a very delicate & thin plastic piece in middle. Quite visible from outside, this acts both as separator for the 2 layered pins of mini usb & base for connectors when u insert a usb to connect a pc or the audio cord.
This small plastic separator gets cracked if you do not handle usb connections properly.
Now here is the solution -
1.Remove battery
2.Look into mini usb port on device, see if there is a crack in between
3.If yes take a fine needle just press the cracked part so that the whole piece gets leveled.
4. Then you can put a small drop of quick drying fixer at the outer tip of this plastic part, take care it doesn't go inside otherwise it will create a layer on connecting plates.
Hope it helps you.

What phone model is this?

Anyone?
Also would HTC Desire charger work with it? (the sticks looks same - microUSB, but looks like the phone is not charging)
Also if the phone is dead, is there any way i can check if the battery/screen or whatever else is faulty?
When i connect it under Windows with USB cable, it says that the device cannot be recognized and the drivers cannot be installed.
When connected with USB, i did hold the power button to turn it on but it doesnt start and the phone keeps vibrating continuusly.
Look on the back, or inside, even under battery, for more information.
I already know it's Samsung Galaxy Mini II, homever i have issues turning it on.
All microusb chargers are the same except for amperage. Try all you have. This phone is probably terminally damaged, but try a new battery if possible.
It's really strange (the phone was little wet) homever, sometimes it's starting just fine and sometimes wont turn on at all.
I have removed battery and put it to the bowl with a rice for a night and will see if that helps.
My "dampness" recovery is to disassemble and put phone/tab/laptop in in very low oven ie 125-135 degrees F for several hours. You may have ti turn oven on & off manually to get that low temperature. Your mileage may vary.
OK so basically the phone is in following state:
It's charging fine, homever the biggest problem atm is i cannot get the usb mass storage to work.
I'm connecting it to the PC and the phone is detecting it as AC charger not USB - PC is not even trying to install any drivers.
PC is not detecting the phone at all (phone is detecting that its being connected, the button backlights are lighting up)
I got no dropdown in the phone to select charging, mass storage etc. (when i do it in settings/communication/usb settings it keeps saying to connect the usb cable, but the phone is charging so its connected just fine)
When i was connecting it for the first time windows tried to install drivers but failed, also it was constantly disconnecting the phone from usb cable (now its fine it seems)
When i connect it using "Kies Air" it's working homever i still dont see the SD Card in "My Computer" for example.
What a mess, anyway any idea how to get the USB working again?
Try different cable, and/or different PC.
I ordered new usb cable, homever i doubt it's the problem as the phone is recognizing connection and also it's charging fine.

Sony Xperia L (C2105) charging problem

I will tell the whole history just in case, it might be relevant.
It started with battery problems, it was charging at a very slow rate (4-5 hours) and it was lasting 1 hour top. The camera was the cuplrit, it wasn't working at all and by disabling the camera app the phone worked fine for a week.
Suddenly stopped charging now.
When the phone is on it doesn't recognize the charger not even the computer, no bottom led. The computer doesn't recognize the phone either.
When the phone is off, if i connect the charger, the bottom led turns red for a second, SONY logo appears, battery appears for another second and reboots... infinitely.
I thought that the USB connector was the problem but i can connect it to my laptop in fastboot mode and flashmode, the phone is recognized in both modes, i even "repaired" the phone with Sony PC Companion and i'm having the same problems like before: no camera and no charging.
I don't think it is a firmware problem, i've re-flashed two stock firmwares from XPERIA Firmware website and no success.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
Dude I have the exact same problem. Would like to find out a solution
Could be a hardware problem.

i used power bank to charge my phone,Suddenly stopped charging now.
When the phone is on it doesn't recognize the charger not even the computer, no bottom led. The computer doesn't recognize the phone either.
It is charging properly with power bank always but not with charger and computer with usb. if i connect the charger, the bottom led turns red for a second, SONY logo appears, battery appears for another second and reboots... infinitely.

Facing Same Problem, I have even change the New Port for charging.. but after 2-3 weeks as usual.. slow like Hell...

Unable to connect to PC in any mode

Hi all, I'm afraid I already know the answer to my question but I'll still ask if there's even a slight chance to get this fixed on my own.
I had this issue on Android 8.1 where my Pixel kept saying "Supplying power to connected device via USB" even without anything connected to it, (it started doing that one day without any reason) tapping the notification allowed me to switch to "Charge this device" and then turn on MTP mode, battery life was terrible but I wasn't that much bothered by it because I am an Android developer so I kept it connected in USB Debugging mode most of the time anyway.
When I got the notification for Android 9 update I decided to update hoping it'd fix the USB issue but after the update it now always says "Charging connected device" and tapping the notification does bring up the "USB Preference" screen and it allows me to switch to "USB Controlled by this device" and it starts charging but there's no way to switch "Charge only" mode to anything else, ADB does not see it, fastboot does not see it and there's no persistent notification on the phone about it being connected via USB at this point (in any mode). My understanding is that this is a hardware issue but Oreo still allowed me to workaround this and get the USB debugging connected.
Is there anyway I can get back to Oreo without using fastboot flash or any other solution to this?
Thanks for reading.
PS. I'm on Ubuntu but I can access a Windows machine if required and bootloader is already unlocked.
I'm curious if you're able to connect to a USB OTG storage device.
I'm having this issue connecting it to my windows 10 laptop.. the cable recognizes it.. starts charging.. shows option on phone to change type of connection.. but not matter which one i change it too, the computer will not pull lit up as a drive to see the files..

Same here! I plug the cable into the Windows 10 computer, I even can change the mode from charging to MTP file transfer, but the device won't show up in the Windows Explorer. It appears under connected devices though.
My Pixel 2 XL would not connect to PC for file browsing if USB debugging of Android Apps was enabled in developer settings. Didn't matter which option I chose to connect. IDK if that is expected or not, but it took me a while to figure out. Happened Spring 2018, idk if Google fixed it.

I don't think i've tried to turn that mode off.. i'm so used to needing it on for the computer to recognize and connect to all my previous Android Devices.. thanks for the recommendation...

Couldn't find any OTG cable to try that but strangely enough a few days back I connected it to PC for charging and Nautilus popped up, same cable, same USB port and it started working all of sudden. Did verify with a couple of other cables and different ports and everything is working fine since.
"Charging connected device" notification never appeared again, only thing different (when it started working again) was that I was out of the air conditioned room most of those days, might it be moisture or something like that?
I'm back to my normal routine for a few days now and it's still 100% normal, will have to see if it stays that way.
Sorry for late response.
Here's an update in case someone else runs into this situation, I can say this with 99% certainty that is caused by the blackish residue build-up around the USB port over time. It's not too much that it's visible just by looking into the port but it's enough to make the device behave like this.
Here's what I did to get rid of it, took a match stick (don't use anything metal) and broke it in half making a sharp edge on both broken pieces, took the non coated piece and inserted sharp edge in the bottom side of the port and gently wiggled it around while applying some pressure towards the connector (just a little bit, make sure you don't break anything), did this for about 45 seconds then took out the match stick and the part that was touching the connector had turned blackish (I guess this is when you know you have 'cleaned' it enough?), repeated the same process on the top side of the port with a new match stick piece (guess you can use the same one after cleaning it with a tissue), the only difference was that this time applied the pressure in opposite side (other side of connector), device was on during all this time.
It builds up again after a while (~3 months) so I had to repeat the entire process again when it started doing that again at the start of December but it wasn't that annoying this time because I knew exactly what was wrong and how to get rid of it, device is still working fine 100%.
I'm simply sharing my experience and not encouraging anyone to do this but if you do decide to try this be sure not to use anything metal and don't break the connector inside the port (turning the device off would be a good idea too) and you'll be fine and if something does go wrong I won't be responsible.

Side Buttons flex cable broken. How to Turn phone on?

Hello XDA Members.
As the title says, the flex cable for the entire right side of the phone is broken (meaning no FP sensor, power, vol +/-, or shutter buttons). The phone ran out of battery and turned off. Is there a way to turn the phone on without the buttons? (maybe by disconnecting the battery while charging, similar to older models?)
ADB is not detecting the phone, USB Debug was probably not enabled
I'm looking for a replacement flex cable, but they're very difficult to find as this model wasn't sold officially in my country. Can't order online either sadly (3rd world country)
Solved.
Here's how for future reference if someone encounters a similar issue.
1. Disconnect battery and reconnect it
2. Download and install Xperia Companion Tool from Sony (tested on Mac, but the Windows version should work as well)
3. Choose Repair Software/Xperia on the Companion tool
4. Connect phone to computer using a USB cable
5. Disconnect phone when the Xperia splashscreen appears.
Done.
EDIT: Nope, phone froze and tried this, didn't work again.
