Help connecting Triumph to USB port in my car

I just got a 2010 Infiniti G37. It has a USB port, but no aux input and no Bluetooth audio streaming (wtf Infiniti?). It reads and plays iPods and iPhones just fine. I can not get it to recognize my android phone at all (Motorola triumph running stock 2.2 rooted). It will recognize flash drives though. I think the problem with the phone is it takes a few seconds to click 'connect USB storage' and then 'ok' before it reports itself as a mass storage device. By that time the car is already reporting an error. I have tried with debugging on and off... Makes no difference. So, is there any tweak, app, or hack I can do to force my phone into USB mode (without the prompts) every time I connect it?
This is actually a pretty important feature to me and I'm disappointed I can't get my phone and new car to play nice. Might even consider switching to an iPhone if there is no other option. Please help.

the MIUI rom im running has an option to auto mount when plugged in to a usb port. hope that helps

USB does not recognize my phones

I have a MTCD head unit MX (witson) with Android 5.1, my problem is that the USB port cannot recognize my phones, A note 4 with Android 6.0 (eRobot ROM) and a Samsung GT386T no rooted with stock ROM 4.4.2. The USB port works find with a usb stick, I can play music, pictures, etc. but not my phones. Both have the USB debugging enable.
When I plug a phone it is charging but nothing happens, my note 4 after a few minutes pop a windows saying that there is a problem with the connection MTP and that I need to download samsung Sync etc.
What I want to do is to use the mirror link function.
Any of you know something about this issue?

I believe i read that there is a specific app that you have to run on these to do the mirror link...easy connect, maybe? Did your HU come with an instruction booklet? I was looking through mine earlier and it went over in detail how to setup mirroring through that app.

Yes, when I tried to use EasyConnected is when I saw the problem. The app waits for my phone to be connected, It says that it must be turned on USB debugging, but it is on. Then I checked in the File manager and the USB was not enable there, like if nothing is plug it. If I plug a USB memory it works fine.
I will try today to do a factory reset.

You ever get this solved? My easyconnected never stays connected. WiFi and USB both are garbage.
WiFi randomly disconnects.
USB also disconnects asks me to allow USB debugging every couple of minutes. The phone never remembers the headunit, so it constantly asks me again to allow connection. Must be a crap RSA fingerprint coming from the headunit.

Nope, Still does not work for me. Same symptoms as you. I already tried with 3 differents phones, factory reset and different versions of easyconnected.

I seem to have USB connection working now with only one "allow USB Debugging?" popup, only when I first connect.
What I did was turn wifi off on the headunit. I am not sure why it worked, but I just wanted to turn everything not needed off, and see if the headunit would stop disconnecting all the time. So far so good. I can probably live with one annoying popup, instead of one every few minutes.
Of course you have to keep the screen on the phone on, and the battery in the phone will deplete faster than the headunit charges it, but still an improvement. I had a 30 minute drive today, and the USB never disconnected!

paniqueado, try the da_anton ROM. I just installed it and easyconnect finally works as it should. I just plug in my phone to the USB and it fires right up! One prompt if any on the head unit, and NO disconnects whatsoever.

Android Auto USB connectivity issue

Hi all
I have some extremely strange and annoying connectivity issues with this phone - dual sim version (1 got this phone from about 2 weeks). It's a European model running official OTA 1.27.401.5 software version.
I've connected to my multimedia unit (VW Jetta) different phone models (LG, Samsung, Huawei, Lenovo) with different version of Android 5.0 or 6.0. All worked flaw-less without any problem. This is the first Nougat and HTC.
It worked 2-3 times (don't know why and how it seems random!) out of 40-50 times. The issue is the following. When I connected the phone with the usb cable to the car head unit and I select MTP, the car unit starts the process of connection and fails with an error message about a communication problem. What happens is that the phone after is set the "MTP" in 1-2 seconds max reverts to "charging". I am not sure if the phone switches to the default charging because it can't establish the connection with the head unit and this is a normal behavior or the reason the communication fails is that the phone switches itself to "charging" thus loosing the communication before is stable.
The things are very strange because the last time when worked (got connected) I've checked the USB connection and it remained as "charging"! One of the few times it remained as "MTP" , as it should be, the car unit also refused to connect.
I mention I've tried 4 different cables and 4 different Android Auto version starting with the most recent.
Also something not normal after 5-6 connection missed messages (again it seems random) the car head unit resets and auto-reboots as the power was cut. The car head unit never rebooted itself with other phones with AA or in any other conditions till connecting with U11!
Any hints would be very good. Maybe there is someone with this phone and a car from VW (or Skoda/Seat) which managed to make it work.

Pixel 3 XL - USB Connections for File Transfer/Android Auto

Got my Pixel 3 XL yesterday and absolutely love it...
Just in case anyone else experiences issues I thought I would post this - did an online chat with Google and they think it might be a bug in the OS.
Connecting to my PC or Car, the device was showing the USB options when you swipe down for notifications permanently on Charging Only. Even changing this from that drop down had no effect. I could see the device on my PC but unable to view files/folders and unable to copy anything to the device. Similar symptoms in my car, the device would charge fine but no matter what I did it wouldn't connect to my Infotainment System.
To fix this I had to enable Developer Options, scroll down to Networking and there is a "Default USB configuration" setting. This was set to "No data transfer", I changed it to "File transfer" and rebooted and now everything works fine.
Hopefully this might help others :good:

Does your phone fast charge while using Android Auto?

I don't think so, how can I check that.
I've only had the device a couple of days now but have noticed that when I'm using it in the car running Google Maps and streaming music via AA it still seems to charge.
Doing the same on my original Pixel XL I would loose 1-2% over about 30-40 mins, not sure if that's just because the battery was starting to deteriorate.

Thanks, but for some reason that didn't work for me. Tried this with and without USB debugging and car is just not seeing the phone for AA, but charges it fine. Also tried 4 different cables just in case, if I plug in an S8+ to any one of those cables it works perfectly with the car.

MI TV stick self turn on after latest update

Hi.
I've checked 3 pcs of Mi TV stick - each time after updating to latest update the stick is turning on by itself in 20 seconds after turning off by remote.
The new piece from box before update is ok, after installing latest update same issue. Does Xiaomi knows some solution to this bug?

I have the same problem bro. Still not found the solution.

I got the solution - at least that worked for me. The problem was with charging adapter from xiaomi phone. When stick was charged from PC USB slot then no problem with turning on by itself. It seems those sticks need power from low voltage sources like PC USB or TV USB (that I didnt check). Try it.

In my case there is no difference. TV Stick turning on by itself no matter if it was in TV USB, PC USB or plugged in charged which came in package.
It was my 2nd TV Stick because 1st was sended back because of classic problem with remote - losing connection and you need to unplug the device.

Unfortunately I have same issue with latest PI.1727. It's not able to stay in standby. On my side I'm sure it's a reason of updated hdmi-cec code. Once upon a time I was able to shutdown both tv and stick with a single button click. It's a dream now. I wish we were able to downgrade firmware.

Same issue on brand new Mi TV Stick updated to PI.1727. It wakes up with no reason.

Same issue here. I can shutdown MiStick + Tv, but I can't turn on both devices from remote using HDMI-CEC.
And both devices turn on automatically every day at same hour.
