Can I install a UK or German firmware in an A908B that has an Australian firmware? - Samsung Galaxy A90 5G Questions & Answers

My A908B has A908BXXU2BTB4 firmware, which hasn't gotten an update since February, but I've noticed firmware on other countries (UK, Austria, Germany for example) has been updated since. These firmwares are listed at the SamMobile website under A908B. Is it possible to use one of these newer firmwares on my phone?

Yes, you can.

My A908N has A908NKSU4DUJ1 firmware, which hasn't got an update since June, but I've noticed firmware on other countries (UK, Austria, Germany for example) has been updated since. These firmwares are listed at the SamMobile website under A908B. Is it possible to use one of these newer firmwares on my phone?

Difference between SM-P9050ZKAXEF and SM-P9050ZKADBT
Hello, I am thinking of buying the Note 12.2 but I would like to know the defference between these two part numbers. What do they mean XEF and DBT? They are imported from Germany or France?
Thank you.
DBT is the German Unbranded version, XEF is the French Unbranded version. The only difference lies in the firmware (Which has the same code). The country code is just to indicate the country of origin for product details purposes.
There are a few small differences in the firmware (Shutter sound, for instance). But since you can freely flash official firmware without risk to your warranty, it's not overly important.

Thank you very much for your answer. I have seen your name on many threads about this device, so you have the knowledge. I have 3 more questions:
1. Is there a way to get the full list of the differences between the two firmwares?
2. If Samsung releases an update lets say first for Germany, then the German device will get the update and the French one will get it later when it is released for that specific country?
3. You mentioned that there is a way to flash the firmware I want. This is done without triggering Knox? Can you post a link for the official firmwares?

Sadly, no. Samsung never gives out such lists, and to my knowledge nobody has compiled one.

Yes.
Samsung's updates usually go like this: First release is for XEO, Poland. (That's where the test centre is located).
A week or three later, provided nothing goes wrong, DBT, XEF and BTU(UK) get the update. The order of which one gets it first varies, but they're usually around the same week.
Next up is the rest of the world. The US releases follow a different schedule because those devices have their own device number.
Sometimes a country decides to skip an update or two due to a problem, or because the newest update fixes specific issues that do not apply to that country. For instance there was an update for the Note 3 that fixed the WiFi passwords not being remembered. The issue didn't affect DBT, so DBT didn't get that update. This has been the case for the P905 on several updates recently due to the LTE whitelists needing to be adapted, which can only be done via an update.

So long as you flash an official firmware from the same region, it won't trigger KNOX.
You can find most of them here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-P905/
Keep in mind that you can only flash the same firmware number or higher. You can't downgrade.
Thank you very much for answering my questions. From what I understand if I buy the import from Germany, I will not be able to flash the France firmware because they are different regions, correct? I live in Greece, so you suggest finding a tablet with Greek firmware or importing one of the above?

France and Germany are in the same region. The regions are defined as EU/EEA, Asia, Middle East, USA, etc.
The Greek firmware also falls within the EU/EEA region.
You can cross-flash the firmware from any of the EU/EEA countries without issue.

How to update 920F?

New to international unbranded models.. I just purchased a 920F S6. How do these models get their updates ota? With a tmo 920T you could check update etc but how does an unbranded model work?
Also, I've seen posts about flashing a France firmware to get updates faster. Is there an unbranded version that gets the first updates from Samsung?
Thanks

s930fd in Australia - do I need to flash?

Hi,
I bought an s930fd from Hong Kong to use in Australia on the Telstra network. Currently it has:
PDA/AP Version G930FXXS1DQHM
CSC Version G930FOJV1DQEB
MODEM/CP Version G930FXXU1DQE8
Region XSG — United Arab Emirates
I don't care about the dual SIM feature. Also, the phone will eventually be flashed to Lineageos 15.1 so I won't be using OTA upgrades.
Do I need to flash to:
PDA/AP Version G930FXXS2DRCF
CSC Version G930FTEL2DRBA
MODEM/CP Version G930FXXU2DRAC
Region TEL — Australia
for it to work on the Telstra network? Or could I use:
PDA/AP Version G930FXXS2DRCE
CSC Version G930FXSA2DRAC
MODEM/CP Version G930FXXU2DRAC
Region XSA — Australia
which I assume has all the right modem information and other settings to work in Australia on any network?
You don't need to if you don't want to, since internationally most networks work the same.
Mine was also originally from UAE, the firmware it came with it worked fine with Optus without any additional flashing. I'm now on the UK BTU because it's what my custom ROM came with and it's also fine.
I would say go with XSA if you're going to flash since that's the unbranded firmware and should work on all Aus networks, but won't come with Telstra bloatware.
The main benefit for carrier specific is carrier specific features like VoLTE.
OK. Given Telstra runs VoLTE, then does XSA provide it or do I need to go to the specific TEL flash?
Cheers
I think you need the TEL flash, as far as I know VoLTE settings are carrier specific

[QUESTION] What is the most up to date and bloatware-less firmware for SM-G970F?

As the question says, i'm looking for the most up-to-date and bloatware-less firmware version for my s10e (SM-G970F).
I'm looking on sammobile, and the only firmware that has the June security patch is the SWITZERLAND (AUT) firmware. Is this firmware clean??? Like the BTU versión for the S9+, or Hong Kong for the Note 9?
Thank you!
To answer myself: Its the Switzerland (AUT) firmware.
what less there is on the AUT one ? I installed the French and the UK ones and it's the same.
Honestly I hate on stock rom is preinstalled Facebook. Ok I can understand some other apps, but no facebook. Ofcorse I disabled it.
