That's... Really lame.
My Blackberry could do that. What the hell?
I don't use it often, but it's a great feature.
Geez. Any solution? Can i use a 3rd party camera? Even if can't use both cameras?

idk if it works
There's a camera icon displayed while recording that takes photos when you click it.

No there isn't?
I certainly can't seem to find it.
Probably another "enhancement" to the North American versions.
So Huawei doesn't give a damn about anyone outside China, go figure. Last Huawei device.
Nope, scratch that, I figured it out.
It doesn't happen if you record at 60fps.
Which is another problem, why can we record at 1080p 60fps but not 720p 60fps?
Regardless, can't record at 60fps and take photos at the same time. Super lame.
I've found a lot of topics but none discuss in fact wich is the best camera app for Redmi Note 7 (Global Version).
I love the camera lens, but the stock camera app not so much... Wich one you thing is the best camera app ever for Redmi Note 7 Pro?
Paid, Ported, Free,...
I'm also very interested in this.
I've never installed a different camera app to a phone before, but the default app doesn't seem very good, and if there's better to be had I want it.
I constantly hear praise for Gcam, but it sounds like there's many different ports of it and no real clear answer on which one works the best.
Bumping this question, and ignoring the fact that the OP is talking about lavender and not violet, but are there any good Camera apps for the RN7P yet?
I've got the China RN7P and i've flashed crDroid onto it, but now that i'm looking into it, i'm having trouble finding a good working cam.
All of the Gcam ports i've tried have failed to recognize the 48MP rear camera, and completely hides the "Gcam settings" option so I can't even re-balance the terrible saturation.
I've also tried crDroid's default camera and Open Camera from the play store, both of which also didn't let the rear camera go above 12MP, and the pictures they took didn't stand up to what even the 12MP Gcams took (minus ruined saturation).
So is there anyway to get Gcam with 48MP and functional settings working on a custom rom, or is there any third party camera app that can recognise the 48MP on a custom rom and get close to Gcam's quality?
and if no to both of those, any idea how long it might take for a working 48MP camera to be working on a custom rom'd RN7P?

Excuse the messy living room pictures, and the fact that they're rotated despite being upright on my pc
but there's no difference at all, even in the properties of the images.
Pretty much same image quality, exact same resolution, and the settings still only says 12MP without an option for 48MP.
The first image is from 'camera' and the second image is from 'portrait' (which for some reason always takes pictures in burst mode).
Also I don't really know what level of quality I should be getting from the RN7P's camera, but I get the feeling they shouldn't be this visibly blurred and noisy.

Back when I was on MIUI 10, the MIUI camera app did recognize the 48MP camera, so it does have it.
Unless I somehow got sent the Indian version instead, in which case, i'd be pretty upset because it also has worse bands for my country too.

I tried both the xtreme and fu24 versions of gcam posted here in the Mi 9 forums, but both of them still only let me go up to 12MP in the settings.
The xtreme version took identical pictures in both 'camera' and 'portrait' mode just like the other gcams I've tried, and the fu24 version refused to even take a picture in 'portrait' mode.
Use Gcam 6.1 And Click Photo in Portrait Mode after Select Photo without Blur in Gallery.
Portrait Mode Support 48MP.

It's a bit hard to tell if pro mode is actually taking 48MP pics with the current bug that puts out small resolution images, but hopefully that should be fixed soon.

Hey can you try the Gcam 6.1.021 Note7pro
I can't post the download link because I'm a New member sorry. ?
You have to use portrait mode to get full 48MP photos.
Also to get the best possible results increase the saturation to 1.6 in settings and in Gcam settings enable HDR+ for portrait mode and disable Zoom in portrait mode to avoid the crop that Gcam has on it's photos.

I appreciate you trying to help, but I've tried 3 different ports of Gcam 6.1.021 and one port of Gcam 6.2.something
Even in portrait mode, the pictures it takes aren't 48MP, I've even posted examples in this thread.
No matter which port I used, what settings I changed or what mode I used, all the pictures came out the same.
12MP, and a resolution of 4000x3000

Just a thought here because I might be wrong but could gcam only be finding 12mp because of the pixel binning? Essentially, from what I've read and seen the sensor combines 4x 12mp to create the 48mp. I'm running the rn7 myself and see no difference between 12mp and 48mp in pro mode apart from being able to zoom slightly more on the higher mp shot.

Actually, the main camera sensor is a real Sony IMX586 48MP. The reason you don't see any difference between 12MP and 48MP is because both the photos are coming from a same sensor. It's just that the former one is pixel binned to decrease photo size and capture more light.
I believe True 48 MP mode can only be accessed using proper camera libs. Otherwise you can only get the 12 MP Mode

Please, what is the best settings for my GCAM for best photography
Hi all,
I'm just thinking of buying the Mi Note 10 Pro, because of its battery and camera. I use phone camera mainly (but not only) for video recording (I record some youtube videos from time to time (nothing really complex, vlogs, gameplays and technology reviews), and because of this I use a lot manual controls for white balance, focus and exposure. Right now I'm using a P20 Pro with Filmic pro app, which is working well, but I was thinking on update it, and since the Mi Note 10 Pro has such a great battery and camera (as DxOMark reviewed), as well as good price, I though it could be my update.
But before buying I need to now if there is any possibility of using manual controls over video recording on this device with the stock camera app in global rom, or if it is compatible with FiLMiC Pro app (at least with the main and selfie sensors, which will be my common use), or if there is any other way to achieve this on this device (maybe GCam?).
Will really appreciate any help on solving this doubts, as are my only doubts before buying it.
Thanks!
Hi,
yes it works quite well with FilmicPro (use standard quality option, because Filmic or Filmicextreme is too harsh at some moments). Hope with next update there comes LOG settings mode to Filmic Pro.
Anyway, stock camera does not have manual video options, like Mi 10 or Redmi note 9s. But if note9s has it, probably they will enable it in coming OS updates - hope so..
So at this moment for all 5 lenses working video and manual controls I mostly use modified open camera app by D1G1TE, see thead here, in page 2:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi...-5-cams-opencamera-108mpx-mode-t4016279/page3
All 5 lenses works well, up to 80mbps it works most stable comparing to other camera apps. Very satisfied with this
Thanks for replying!
I was just reading about the modified opencamera, so I guess I can go with it even if filmic pro or xiaomi do not release anything else (will try actual filmic pro version anyway, maybe is good enough for me)
Just ordered the mi note 10 pro now, I guess it will be a good update coming from my p20 pro.
Thanks again for replying!
Hi
As the poco f2 and the redmi k30 pro zoom are basically the same phones
Can I replace the original camera with the ones from the k30 pro?
You can get the module with all cameras for 14€
I know it will void my warranty but I don't care
Technically I can open the device and replace the camera
But will it work? The main camera I am sure will work because it's the same sensor and you will gain OIS
But I am a little worried about the fact that the macro camera at the same time gets replaced with the zoom camera and I doubt the camera software can handle that?
Any ideas?
First you need to open the case like he does https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZZWMxwcFZOc
If your idea will work, dunno. Try it if you want.
Yes I know how to open the device and replace the camera
But I wonder if it's useless to try or the change is pretty good that it might work
OIS is not added by updates or other similar things. It is added to the structure as a movable lens that prevents vibration. You cant add OIS, because poco f2 pro does not have a movable lens

So if you buy a camera module with lens from K30 zoom that has OIS then Poco F2 Pro will have OIS.
Though I'm not sure if there has to be some sort of firmware 'flag' that activates OIS in camera apps. Only way to know is to try I guess.
The replacement camera module contains the ois parts of it as its the complete module but it includes all cameras Incl the zoom one
I am not worried about the main shooter this one will work because it is the same one just ois but I am worried about the zoom camera replacing the makro

i think it will work but you would need to rebrand your phone to k30 pro zoom for telephoto module properly work with stock system for that device
It will work, do it.
if so, does it need any software changes to recognize the new camera configuration?
For 14 bucks just do it

I don t think so. Usually that kind of information like OIS, EIS support and so on are written into the low level microfirmware of the device (camera in this case). Then is the OS and app that read those information and use it.

even if the type of camera is changed? because there would be a Telephoto instead of Macro
Go for it, if all the connections of the board and cameras are the same. It should work.
I think you'll maybe need to flash the k30 pro's firmware but I'm not sure about that
not workin like that..
Sorry if the question sounds sassy, but why not buy the version you want, rather than bother with a hack that obviously won't work ?

Life is full of compromises, sometimes we do with a 4g tape less because the device is really cool and cheap
Or you choose a device available in your country with the required functions, there are options that require you to put the price or buy a real high-end product sometimes
You can't have everything for 300 € with a Poco product, I love mine but you have to be realistic

Hey, currently i'm thinking to buy 12s ultra. But i read about some bugs are there like notifications, caller id, edge detection and etc.
I'd like to know as of you guys using this phone for months, Are the problems are solved? Are there any bugs still persist?
For users that reports having bugs for notifications are really the one that doesnt really knows how to set up a Xiaomi phone. I have been using a week already and I get all my notifications right away.

I was using a Vivo nex 3s for the pass 2 years, which served me very good but the camera department and the lackluster mono speaker just a nono for a flagships anymore. The 12s ultra I got from aliexpress with global rom, which i think is there inside China only hacked rom and the first thing I did was to flash EU firmware and set it up as a regular global xiaomi phone. To me the screen refresh rate, camera , sound and voice is a major step up from what I was using. For a flagship around 1k, this is a wonderful best buy that I won't probably run into someone with the same phone around my area.

Accessibility services sometimes "stop working" and need to be restarted, that's about the only issue I've run into.
I'm just a casual photo taker, however so far I have found that the consistency in cameral quality was better with the mi ultra 11
Hi, I'm not sure if this is the correct thread for this. But I am wondering if your device's RAW file format for photos does not exceed or is normally 10Mb and below?
I normally post-process my shots and purchased this phone mainly because of its camera. However, I am blown by how low the margin I can edit the images on this device. I have an old mi10 pro, and a ROG6 device, and the RAW photos I'm getting out of those devices are above 50MB. The photos I shot out of this device are normally highly saturated even after turning of lica vivid. so my option is to post-process.
Is this something that can be resolved via software update or is this a hardware limitation? TIA!
So let me ask you one more question about camera. I have seen the dozens of video on youtube about camera. Is 12s ultra's camera really competeble with Iphone 13 or 14 series?

The iPhone gives the most natural looking, clean picture in my experience. android devices tend to go more into "beautification" hence over saturation, over exposed, etc photos. to fix this, you can shoot with raw format and then post process.
but yeah, it all depends with the person looking at the picture.
going back to my question about RAW photos with this phone . this is the first time i ever encountered a device with a very low RAW image quality. the standard photos is more clear, you can basically do nothing with its raw image.
I'm using thor 13.0.1.1 rom, i just want to check with others if they are having the same issue. or will changing rom fix this?
is it just me or is there no way to turn off the alarm when the alarm clock goes off using the native miui clock app? I even set the volume buttons to dismiss the alarm but nothing. Have to reboot phone to turn off alarm
i'll just download the google clock app
