Is anybody else having issue with their laptop unable to find their V60's Hotspot? My work laptop was unable to see the phone's hotspot but it could see my wife's OnePlus 7 Pro. With all my previous phones the laptop was able to see the hotspot.
My tablet and other devices are able to see the phone's hotspot so I'm not sure what's up. I checked and tried all possible setting combination with the hotspot and my laptop's setting but nothing worked. Worst comes to worst I'll factory reset but I wanted to see if anybody has any tips to resolve this. Thanks!

At work we installed a new WiFi router a few months back. The connection is open and no one needs a password to connect to it. But many who bought android phones recently arent able to connect to it. I have a OnePlus One with android 4.4.4 which doesnt connect to the WiFi. My colleagues own Xiaomi, Motorola phones which they bought recently, which also doesnt connect to the internet.
The phones detect the WiFi signal, says the network is saved but fails to connect to it no matter what. The temporary solution is to make our laptop into a WiFi router and use it but this is seriously annoying. The router is from HP and I dont know the exam model number for it at the moment
I will be grateful if someone can find any solution for this problem. Also, I am a novice when it comes to gadgets so, if your suggestion is to manually set up my WiFi settings please do so with clear instructions or a video of some sort. However I will be happy if this problem gets solved in a straightforward manner.
Please help!

No need to configure wifi on your device IMO.
Sounds like an issue with the wifi router.
To check an fix the internet settings of the wifi router, you will need the adminstrative access/console/password for the router.
Then you can check that all new devices afre allowed to connect. On some routers you can restrict the access to a list of known devices or by enabling a MAC address filtering.
If you find such options on the HP wifi router, disable it and restart the wifi.
And make sure that the SSID of the wifi network is visible (= not hidden). Some Android devices have issue connecting to hidden networks.
Thread closed. Thank you.
I am trying to use both these features at the same time. Has anyone been able to do this? The problem is sidesync looks for to be connected to wifi to use the feature but the problem is my phone is the router. My phone can talk to my computer just fine but the app itself doesnt realize this. Any thoughts?
Same here =(
My wifi SSID does not appear at all on my phone, however it works fine on my computer and other mobiles. Not sure if anyone has messed with the router settings, but is it even possible po hide SSID for specific devices? I've tried connecting through my laptop and then openin my laptop's hotspot, and again the hotspot name does not appear in my phone. Other WiFis work fine. I've tried restarting router and phone, resetting the network and bluetooth settings, but nothing is working. I'm using a nexus 6p with Statix OS, android pie rom. Anyone has an idea what the problem might be? Thanks in advance.

If you're using a custom ROM, it might be an issue with the ROM itself. You should post this question in the thread where you got the ROM so the developer that built the ROM can see if it is something they need to fix in their ROM.
To see if it is a result of the ROM you are using, try a different ROM to see if the problem still exists. If it works on other ROMs then the problem is definitely the ROM you are currently using and the developer will have to fix it.

Hi,
I am totally new here and just joined to ask this question. I am hoping someone can help me please.
I have a 9 month old Lenovo Windows 10 laptop. I use my phone's hotspot to access the internet on my laptop. I have always had a trouble free experience and the connection has always been super fast.
As of yesterday, when using the internet on my laptop via phone hotspot, pages are taking forever to load or don't load at all. The laptop itself is working fine and as normal, it's just anything internet related that isn't working. The laptop in-built troubleshooter isn't throwing up any issues.
I tried:
• Restoring the laptop to an earlier restore point.
• Using another network sim card in my phone.
• Using someone else's mobile hotspot.
• Factory resetting my phone.
The issue still persists.
The only thing I haven't tried is connecting my laptop to someone's home broadband. That would help determine whether the issue is with the laptop or with the phone / hotspot connection.
I am at a total loss and would be deeply grateful if someone could help me through this.
Many thanks.
Hi,
I have recently (last week) joined the OnePlus party by getting myself the 7 Pro after being with Samsung since the S2 days.
I like the phone but there are a few issues I am having.
The main issue I am having is the Bluetooth Tethering. I need this for when I am in my car (Mercedes use this method for internet connectivity). I switch it on and try to connect but after a while it just tells me that the data connection is temporarily unavailable. My mobile data works fine so I'm assuming that isn't the issue. When I am parked on my drive and in range of my home WiFi and I try and connect the connection is successful. It is as if the phone is blocking the mobile data connection when accessing via bluetooth tethering. This wasn't an issue on my Note 9 using the same SIM.
Does anybody have a fix for this or are having similar issues? If this cannot work then it is a deal breaker for me and I'll be reluctantly returning the phone to Amazon.
On a side note I have even tried changing the dun status via ADB Shell after finding what was supposed fix online but it did not help.
Thanks
I am no Bluetooth expert, and it may not apply here, but there are a number of various Bluetooth settings that can be altered in the Developers setting. Maybe something there can help???
Hi Jaseman,
I shall look into that. Currently doing a full backup of the phone to my PC before doing a downgrade from Android 10 to 9. I'm hearing that 10 is buggy so I'm hoping that is the culprit.
Thank you for your reply.
