Update Modem / Firmware security patches while on Lineage OS - OnePlus 7 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi,
I just upgraded from a Oneplus 3T to a 7 Pro (oneplus 7 pro GM1913). I successfully installed TWRP + LOS, unfortunately I somehow ended up with the OOS-Part of the firmware not being up to date, meaning: Latest device security patch is from march 2020 (instead of may 2020).
Coming from a 3T I thought this should not be a problem: Download Firmware/Modem, boot to TWRP and flash it. (or fastboot flash in case of .img files).
Somehow this does not seem to be the way to go for the 7 Pro. How do I upgrade in this case?
Any help is much appreciated, thanks.

Questions and summary about TWRP and root

Hello all,
Coming from the Nexus 5 and OP6T (both rooted, TWRP and custom kernel), I will receive soon my OP7 Pro (after a replacement) so I am searching again for the most updated tutorial for rooting my phone.
So far, most of them applies to Android 9 (OOS 9) and it seems that the process is different for OOS 10.
I have some questions without answers yet:
1) Why flashing TWRP on an Android 10 device seems to be different that on Android 9?
For example, "fastboot flash twrp.img" doesn't work anymore (something like "invalid command").
2) What is the best, safest way to root OOS 10 on OP7Pro?
I have seen 2 methods: boot patch with magisk and modified twrp flash. Are there more methods working directly with Android 10?
3) Where can I find a working MSM Download Tool?
Is there one version per OP7 pro models (GM1910, GM1913, etc)?
Am I right that with this tool, it is impossible to really hard brick the phone?
Thank you for reading, don't hesitate to only provide me links with a little explanation

I need help to install a specific firmware update

Hello. I've just unlocked the bootloader of my oneplus 7 and installed TWRP & Magisk.
Now, I searched for a bit a list of all the firmware updates for this phone, but didn't find much.
In the end, I found this page with several downloads:
https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=295474
Since for Android 9 I see only versions 9.5.7 and 9.5.8, is it correct to assume that version 9.5.8 is the latest update for Android 9?
(I don't want to upgrade to Android 10)
If yes, which file should I choose between these, and how would I proceed to install it, possibly without losing root and TWRP?
- [EU] OnePlus 7 OxygenOS 9.5.8 Full ROM.zip
- [EU] OnePlus 7 OxygenOS 9.5.8 OTA Update.zip
- [EU] Oxygen OS 9.5.8 Kernel Boot.img
- [Global] OnePlus 7 OxygenOS 9.5.8 Full ROM.zip
- [Global] OnePlus 7 OxygenOS 9.5.8 OTA Update.zip
- [Global] Oxygen OS 9.5.8 Kernel Boot.img
Thank you very much for any help. I really don't know where to start (and can't find much, if anything, by searching).

Thanks.

oneplus 7 Pro , trying to update to Android 10

I had a oneplus 6 and that updated to android 10 a while ago.
Now I recieved a oneplus 7 pro. But the problem is it will not update to android 10.
Tried a system update check, Said up to date.
Contacted oneplus they mentioned the local file upgrade
Downloaded that ZIP and tried again, it tells me system update installation failed.
I am rooted and have TWRP installed as well as magisk.
Considered flashing from TWRP, but since it is an official system update not sure how that would work.
Is this my best option or anyone have an idea on why it fails.?
Tried different suggestions, nothing seemed to work. Did not try to delete cache yet.
Hi
Did u try Tool All-in-one? Marvellous tool!

Updater didnt work, but ended up booting from local updater after the file was downloaded.
Then I ended up doing local update with the update from oneplus latest.
Now I am working on redoing TWRP. It is sticking on fastboot mode after doing a fastboot boot twrp-3.3.1-4-guacamole.img
Just hope I didnt mess something up when I did the TWRP Magisk A/B retention script.
May try a different TWRP boot img
Newest TWRP worked fine.
ReInstalled Magisk.
All Data and apps are good.
Few minor issues but nothing to serious.
Thanks for all your help !!

TWRP for Oneplus Nord with Android 12

Hi!
I recently made an update to Android 12 (OxygenOS 12.1) on my AC2003. So I tried to install TWRP on it with this Version: https://twrp.me/oneplus/oneplusnord.html and with this one https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...ficial-twrp-for-oneplus-nord-testing.4142149/ . The last one was working fine when I had Android 11 still. I set up the ADB drivers as mentioned here: https://developer.android.com/studio/run/win-usb but when I either try to flash or boot any of the 2 images nothing happens :/ any idea what I'm doing wrong?
from what i've gathered, twrp is not working with 12 on oos yet. msm back to 11 and sacrifice. sorry.

Rooting OOS12?

Hey guys, soooooo I finally updated my 7 Pro to the stable build of OOS12 that's out now. How do you install twrp and root this build??? When I use fastboot to boot a twrp img file, it borks the phone into a bootloop!
EDIT: So I was able to root it by just patching a boot image and flashing that. but is TWRP just not supported yet for OOS12?
Official TWRP for A12 ONEPLUS 7 PRO is now released.
Hello, as I mentioned in the title, you can now download the official TWRP for the official website, and the most recent version supports encryption/decryption. https://twrp.me/oneplus/oneplus7pro.html
forum.xda-developers.com
what about the bugs and battery drain?
