OnePlus Buds - OnePlus 8 Pro Accessories

Anyone else order a pair? I ordered two, one pair for my wife, and one for me. It will be interesting to see how they compare to the Bullets that came with the phone.

I want them but I don't think they could replace my AirPods Pro so may just skip on them.
Or maybe get them as a secondary pair for the gym or something.

Ordered and then realized they won't work unless I update my device. Kinda sad as I don't wanna lose photochrome filter. Maybe I'll gift them to my wife.

My buds have arrived, and I have to say, I am impressed. The sound is crisp and clear with plenty of bass and volume. Definitely worth the price, imo.

Probably not, but at less than a third of the price, I got a pair for myself, a pair for my wife, and money left over for dinner.

You do know that you can update and keep photochrom, right?

I got it today and it's very good. I'm happy with it. One thing, to me it is a little quiet outside, can i boost somehow the volume up without root?

Whatever floats your boat. I'll take software updates and hardware over creep shots.

yeah if you are into heavy bass music these are definitely good. Not my cup of tea.

I'm considering these even though I'm not sure how much I'd use them.
I tend to throw on the wired buds I have from my Google phones.
I understand if you use the 1+ app that's made for these buds, the experience is quite good.
More options and supposedly the buds receive updates too.
How have you found it?
TIA
BTW I don't care what anyone says, this is definitely the best phone I've had to date

The buds do receive updates, as there was one available out if the box. I haven't found an app yet, but still looking.

edit: now I'm reading that the app would be on your phone after a recent update to the buds themselves. it definitely gives you more functionality according to the reviews.
there's supposed to be an app on the play store for the buds. I don't see it either but it's mentioned in virtually all the reviews.

thank you in advance

OP buds are poor in design , sound quality & fonctionality. Fluid design is gone out of the window on that one . Whom ever signed off on those OP buds at OP need an apraisal . I got my money back and went back to a cheap set on amazone at £18 perfoming better them OP buds .

The buds are really good actually I was very surprised. They are just made for the oneplus 8pro and I'd recommend viper4android mod too it's amazing. I like how they pair quickly and have good support for our phones. I also have airpods for my ipad etc and they don't sound as good as the One Plus buds.

Agree, so far they are pretty good!

Mod Edit: Moved per OP request.
£20 seems way too cheap for those headphones.
Those headphones retail for over $100 US dollars, there must be something wrong with this, if you decide to jump on it let us know how it went.
Decided to buy, hopefully i'll get my money back if theres something wrong. I bought with paypal so it should be ok.
Paypal will give the money back I have also email the seller to confirm if they are not fake and if they are in top condition.

Just a sidenote. I've noticed that the bass with SRS Wow or Dolby enabled is really loud when one uses a headphone with a strong bass output. I've a Shure SE500 (with a bass monitor) that I can't use with this setting. Because dr. Dre headphones are famous because of their powerful bass characterics I guess this will also be the case with these headphones.
(But then again, the whole community (at least 1 ) is still looking for a possibility to set the bass level for SRS and Dolby on the DHD. Now this isn't possible, unfortunately)
why dont you grab a nice almost neutral IEM, like jays D or Q-jays, apparantly the A's are not too bad either
i have the Q's very nice they respond very well to EQ changes for example flat EQ sounds balanced, bassey EQ sounds bassey ect... they sound very nice on my S9 and they were pretty good on my legend to. no idea about the DHD but id imagine they would still sound great.

The price is cheap, but not excessively so.
These are the first generation buds which you can pick up for about £35 nowadays. The current ones retail for about £110-120. I'm sure they're still good headphones though.
Just be sure they're not counterfeit. I read some silly stat somewhere that 80% of headphones and bluetooth headsets sold on ebay are counterfeit.

got my earphones today. looked a bit iffy with the seal broken on the box, but all in box, and works amazingly with SRS surround sound. I would recommend them apart from them having to be pushed a bit into the ear not to stick out and fall out...

Headphones

Hey all, so, my headphones finally broke after months of intense use (the left headphone doesn't work anymore, but the right one still does).
Does anyone have a cheaper recommendation other than the stock SGS4G headset? I love the thing, but I just wanna see what other possibilities there are. $30 for a headset seems like a pretty generous amount.

SnuggBuds.
I use these I used them for running to. They have great bass sound.
I purchased the headset from AntonX's post. I'm waiting for them to arrive now. I'll keep you guys posted on whether or not it's comparable to the OEM headset.
Then again, it's shipped from Hong Kong, so I'm guessing it would be authentic Samsung...
On another note, I realize that ALL of my headphones always break from the connector. One of the earbuds always end up failing on me. I'm guessing it's because I don't store them away properly (I just coil it up and put it into my ass pocket). So...how do you guys keep your headphones safe?
I purchased them a month ago too. They are under dust in my bedroom corner. Poor sound, difficult to plug in properly to get the most sound. I dont think this is authentic from samsung. They r just fake.you get what you pay for

Hm, that's strange. I myself found links to these on xda I9000 accessory forum, and people who bought them didn't seem to complain and actually made impression that these were original Samsung OEMs. Well, the ones that came with the phone don't sound that great either, maybe just OK.
I have a pair of these too:

Hrm, that's definitely something I'll look into. How is the call quality on that? For the Samsung OEM headset, it sounds pretty good.
Btw, you can get them from Amazon for cheaper, and Skullcandy still provides warranty for them!

For anyone that may be remotely interested, timesaviour on Ebay (the seller mentioned by AntonX) has the OEM headset for Samsung Galaxy S I9000. All the headsets he sent me didn't seem to work for the SGS4G though (except for one that was actually a SGS4G OEM headset).
Still, he was cool enough to give me a refund for the defective ones.
I'll definitely be checking out the Skullcandy Ink'd Mic'd though. I've generally had great experiences with Skullcandy, and with warranty, why not!

If you get on ebay an search for best buy outlet, they usually have some great deals. I've bought 3 sets of insignia Bluetooth NS-BTHDP behind the head headsets. And they are really good. I paid $20 or less for each set from best buy on ebay. I hate the earbud kind. Oh these insignias were about $120 in stores when I bought them. I don't know how much they would be now. And they give you free shipping on them. So if you like Bluetooth headset id say check that out. And all mine were brand new still in original packaging. Hope this helps out.

Specifically, I can't get the button the play/stop/skip track properly. It works sometimes, but very inconsistently.

I like it and I would recommend it.
Unlike typical behind the ear design, I can put one ear bud on while working. It's very light, and can be tucked under the neck of my shirt. Sometimes I even forget I have it on... Also like that the ear buds got held in place by magnet when not in use, kind of cool.
Sound quality... I am not an audiophile so it's good enough for my use, can't tell the difference anyway.

If you look at the reviews, you will see that the range has significantly decreased with the 730. It seems to cut off whenever you walk away from the device. With the 700, I can be like 40ft away with no issues. It's also cheaper, and doesn't seem to be much of an upgrade.

I'm a very active person, and I pretty much ALWAYS have these headphones around my neck. I love running with them, especially since they're water-resistant, so sweat isn't an issue. The only thing which is weird is when you're trying to bench with them on. They don't do to well when you're lying flat on your back. It's manageable though.
These headphones isolate sound very well. I sometimes can't even hear cars honking at me while I'm running.

I just received them in the mail today and listened to a couple songs with them and made a phone call to check out the mic. The entire physical quality leaves a lot to be wanted, just taking them out of the box I felt as if I was breaking them and wouldn't have been surprised if it did break, the quality is comparable to their $3.99 earphones. The only thing I would say these earphones have over the $3.99 ones are the in-ear comfort, they do feel really nice in my ears and I like the different colors they offer as well. Do I recommend it? If you don't mind spending $16 more for comfort, I would say go for it. This is most likely going to be my only pair and I will stick with their $3.99 set, unless this set is extremely durable and lasts for months. Also please note that there could be a huge difference in audio, but to me, the average listener, it sounds the same.

Looking for Apt-X HD Earbuds - Suggestions?

I'm looking for Bluetooth true wireless earbuds or at least Bluetooth in-ear buds with a thin wire that support APT-X HD. I've seen a few of the latter on Amazon, but wanted to know if anyone on here had any personal suggestions and good results with any/with the OnePlus 8?

Its just my opinion. Everyone's ears are different but I think it makes a big difference. Right now I have Galaxy Buds+, Jaybird Tarah, Jaybird Run XT. They sound good on this phone but I know Apt-X is even better.
I would love to hear what others say about Apt-X headphones. I search Amazon all the time but cannot find a decent cheap pair.
I got a pair of Sabbat's U12 Ultra's... they okay... good value for money and support apt-X. Also have a pair of Jabra Elites 65T's, also okay.
The sound quality from my Jaybird Bluebuds X is significantly better than the Sabbat's/Jabra's and that's a set from 2015!! Jaybird's are so good I'm considering a pair of the X4's...
Creative Outliers are also very highly rated....

Yeah I got my "OnePlus Buds" today, absolutely not impressed. Mediocre sound quality, my ears hurt after them being in for 20 minutes. Going to return. Need to do more research.
Also the Bullets 2 seem to have a hard neckband. Not really into that, I've had a few of those, and they slip off when you're working out hard/doing chores.
I got these and they're not bad. The sounds quality is decent and the mic quality is good for taking calls. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07SJR6HL3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

While they are just Apt-X and not Apt-X HD, they sound incredible. Infact, I'd say they are on par with or better than my Samsung Galaxy Buds which cost around $150 typically. For $20, you absolutely cannot go wrong. The case is metal and feels of better quality than the case my Samsung's came with. The phone came up with a banner "Qualcomm Aptx" when I paired them. It's damn clean audio, the fit is amazing in my ear and comfortable. My wife tried them and loves them so much, she's ordered a pair for herself.

Do those have AptX or AptX-HD?
My only complaint with the $20 ones I got (and my wife even got a pair now) is that they are a bit heavy on the bass. I know many these days like that, but it's a little over the top. Still clear, you can hear all dialogue and it's got a nice range (high/low). Again, for $20 I find them nicer than my Samsung Galaxy Buds overall.

Neither I'm afraid...
Are you rooted and do you use Viper at all? Absolutely amazing app for customizing your sound profiles! Never owned a pair of Ankers but they get good reviews and super competitively priced!
I'd jump on the promo but I'm based in South Africa so unlikely to ship to SA and if they do the cost to import and ship will most likely be triple the selling price. Not an option for me sadly...
I need to root...infact thanks for reminding me! Need to start with step 1.
