Video Toolbox in MIUI 12 - MIUI Central

With the update of MIUI 12, video toolbox is now a fully fleshed-out feature with lots of useful tools. In this thread, I'll show you how to access video toolbox in MIUI 12, and the different features you'll find.
Enable Video Toolbox
To enable video toolbox, navigate to your settings menu, in the special features section.
Settings > Special Features > Video toolbox
The settings menu contains a toggle that will enable the video toolbox feature for your video apps. Enable it to activate video toolbox. Next, you can toggle the video toolbox shortcut. This will add a shortcut on the side of your display, which will give you quick access to all of the tools in the video toolbox. You can also specify which side of the screen the shortcut will show up on.
At the bottom of the settings menu, you'll see the "manage video apps" option. This is where you will be able to select the apps that will be associated with video toolbox. When you open the apps you've selected, the video toolbox shortcut will appear on the side of your screen.

Screenshots and Screen Recording
The first features in the video toolbox are screenshot and screen record. Having these tools easily available becomes very useful. You can take a screenshot with a single tap. For the screen recording, you'll start and stop the recording as needed. None of these actions will interrupt the video you're watching.
Easy Casting
Casting becomes much simpler with video toolbox. Instead of searching for the casting options within the video player, you can easily access it from the toolbox. Select the cast option and choose your casting target. While selecting your casting target, the video will be paused, then resumed once it has been cast.
Video Playback with Screen Off
This is the best option that video toolbox has to offer. You can turn your screen off while letting a video continue to play in the background. This means you can play audio from a video without having to leave your screen on. This is most useful for people listening to music on youtube. Select a playlist before a long drive, then shut your screen off to save battery. Your videos will continue to play without interruption.
Launch Floating Windows
Floating windows are updated with some great features in MIUI 12. Now you can quickly access them with video toolbox. Using your floating windows makes the most sense when you're watching a video, so it makes perfect sense to add it to the video toolbox.
You will have a list of all of your apps which you can choose from. Once you select your app, it will popup as a window. All of this happens without pausing your video.
A transparent keyboard is used so you'll still be able to see your video in the background. You can find out more about the new floating windows in this thread.
These are all of the features in the new Video Toolbox in MIUI 12.

How to get it in any smartphone please tell us about it.

[APP] FavSites

FavSites is essentially a quick launch tab browser application that allows you to load up to 5 tabs of your favourite sites. You can customise each tab to your liking to load your favourite local news site, tech news site, webmail or anything that you see fit. It has lots of features and configuration options such as:
- Ability to customise up to 5 sites to be displayed in the tabs (name can be customised too!). 1 Tab is the minimum allowed.
- Manual clearing of application cache (which caches the pages to your internal storage) or automatically clearing of cache on exit
- Exit confirmation dialog (can be enabled or disabled)
- Page Rendering Preferences Option – JavaScript and Display Images Option (useful for those who want text-only display OR those with a mobile data plan and just want to catch the latest news without images)
- Support for Flash to be displayed in the browser (there is a known bug where if a flash element is within view of the tabs above, it will overlap the tabs. I’ve yet to be able to fix this, so for now, please move your tab view outside of the flash element to prevent the overlapping issue)
- Page loading indication below each tab, indicated by a text and a loading percentage (ex: is loading…(10%))
- Forward, backward and refresh capabilities
- Keep Screen ON option. Don’t you hate it when your phone screen times out when you’re reading an interesting article or some really awesome comic? Well don’t get upset anymore! With the keep screen ON option, as long as FavSites is in view, your phone’s screen will never time out.
- Display orientation – You can toggle between automatic sensor orientation, set it to fixed portrait OR landscape orientation all the time.
- Volume Scrolling – I like this one the most. You can use your volume rocker buttons to scroll UP and DOWN one page at a time for easy browsing/reading pleasure. Don’t like that? Perhaps you prefer to scroll to the topmost or the bottom of the page instead? No problem, you can set it to that instead if you prefer. Awesome right?
- Google Web Toolkit mobile page rending – If you’re like me, you’ll probably be browsing some sites that are not optimized for mobile which requires a lot of horizontal scrolling and such. Well don’t worry anymore, you can set for each tab to render them in GWT (Google Web Toolkit) mobilizer form and on top of that, you can set whether you want to display images or not JUST for GWT sites to boot. Now, how cool is that?
- Manual tab loading – Now this one came from a suggestion by a user in legendroid.com, setting this option on any tab allows you to manually load the tab by touching on the link in the tab. Having this option turned on would load up your tabs a bit faster (instead of loading up all 5 sites up at one go for instance) and also possibly gives you more freedom instead of loading all the tabs.

I really wanted to check it out, but it just crashes on my box. Won't open even once. I have noticed that a lot of launchers do this, though.

Displaying apps on one raw
Hi,
Is there any option to display the apps of the selected section on only one row (in stead of spreading them on all the screen)?
This could be useful, especially on TV, when a movie or an image is already on the screen. This way, we don't hide all the screen with the app shortcuts.
Of course, this supposes that it is possible to show the launcher over an already running image (or movie) like the android tv launcher does when we hit the home button.
I tried your ugoos launcer and its good. I however settled with tv2 launcher. Reason being that tv2 launcher let me save the settings and then copy those settings to another box and import everything in few clicks. I don't have to do everything manually again and again. BUT Ugoos is still my 2nd backup option. Can become number 1 option if it has the import settings option.
I have some other ideas also..
please add recent app option
thank you!
why does there have to be a white background behind the icons ?? Background for icons would look much better being transparent. Also the launcher is supposed to automatically put apps in different categories but it does not do this at all. For example I have the chrome browser app but launcher does not put it in the internet category etc etc. For these reasons I will not be using it at all. Thanks
I just use Microsoft launcher. Seems to work fine

How to use the universal casting tool on MIUI 12

MIUI 12 enhanced the previously-introduced casting feature, making it a more handy tool for presenters. Saving the trouble of tangled cables, you can now cast anything on a bigger screen. Why is it a “universal” tool? Let's take a detailed look here.
Steps To Use Casting Tool:
1. Open "Settings" and then tap on "Connection & sharing".
2. Now tap on "Cast" and enable the "cast button" [Note: Connect both your Phone and PC, etc to the same Wi-Fi].
3. It will start to search for available devices, Tap on the available device to cast.

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Feature of Casting Tool:
1. With one tap, you can hide private items whenever you want.
2. You can do other work during casting.
3. You can cast with your phone's screen off.
All in all, this amazing feature allows you to hide private items while casting, minimize a window when you’re multitasking on the go, and cast with screen off, which will decrease power consumption.

Restore Direct Access to Bottom Bar in List View (missing since Android APK v1.9.24)

Hi,
I'm an old user of MX Player app, and I'm in love with it. It's my first media player on all my Android devices.
Recently I installed an Android TV Box for my father's old 2000's TV, which came with its own outdated version of MX Player installed, and I have observed that there is a functionality using the TV remote that does not exist on updated versions of MX Player, although it existed on the factory MX Player version on Android TV Box.
The missing feaure consists of accesing the Bottom Bar (to delete, rename, etc.) directly pressing Left button on the TV Remote, once I've selected any element on the List View (file, folder...). For example, if I have a long list of media files (let's say 100 video files), whenever I wanted to delete one of them I followed these steps:
Old behaviour:
Select video file(s) long pressing Ok Button.
Pressing Left button -> direct access to Bottom Bar.
Press on Delete Button and Confirm.
Recent versions behaviour:
Select video file(s) long pressing Ok Button
Pressing Left Button now doesn't work. Instead, I have to keep going through the whole video List untill the last element.
Once I've reached the end of the list, press Down button again to access Bottom Bar.
Press on Delete Button and Confirm.
I have tracked through the previous APK versions to figure out when this feature disappeared and I have found that the last version with this fast shortcut to Bottom Bar was v1.9.24. Ever since 1.10.X version of MX Player that feature is missing.
I would like you to consider adding back that quick shortcut, which is quite handy to use on a TV, without the need of using mouse or any more advanced remote.
I attach* an example of the remote for the Android TV Box to let you see what kind of remote I am talking about.
Thanks in advance.
