How to use the universal casting tool on MIUI 12 - MIUI Central

MIUI 12 enhanced the previously-introduced casting feature, making it a more handy tool for presenters. Saving the trouble of tangled cables, you can now cast anything on a bigger screen. Why is it a “universal” tool? Let's take a detailed look here.
Steps To Use Casting Tool:
1. Open "Settings" and then tap on "Connection & sharing".
2. Now tap on "Cast" and enable the "cast button" [Note: Connect both your Phone and PC, etc to the same Wi-Fi].
3. It will start to search for available devices, Tap on the available device to cast.

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",

}
Feature of Casting Tool:
1. With one tap, you can hide private items whenever you want.
2. You can do other work during casting.
3. You can cast with your phone's screen off.
All in all, this amazing feature allows you to hide private items while casting, minimize a window when you’re multitasking on the go, and cast with screen off, which will decrease power consumption.

[APP] [2.2+] MultiView Gallery

I want to introduce you this App. Please give me feedback.

}
With this App you can make a wall of devices showing a gallery at the same time sharing their screens.
The App has 2 parts.
Server cfg. One of the devices plays Server role (and client role), whereas the others acts like clients.
Here you configure your wall, with rows and columns. First of all, you select you wall width and height and later you Start Server.
At the screen bottom you will see how many screens are connected. When the number of screens is equal to screens requires, the Start View button will be enable.
Then you can tap Start View to start Gallery in all devices at the same time.
At options menu you can configure if you want a carrousel and how many seconds between image changes.
To configure the images to show, you can change the content of the file “demo.txt” that will be create the first time you start a view or create another one with a url for every line. Files must be created at sdcard.
There are 3 buttons more to change screen display, select the one that better adjust to your needs.
- Screen cfg. Here you connect to the server and wait
In this part, you only have to set the server ip or domain. It’s better to have a dyndns.org domain to avoid use IPs numbers. When click connect you will receive the position of this device at the wall.
There is a manual option to set the position of this device.
It works better with wifi connection.
In order to quit author, you must buy Pacosal License App.

To show several images in several devices at same time using all the screens.
If you have a shop or so, you could put this App in serveral devices to show your images and people will see a different shopfront.
Or maybe you have 2 or 3 mobiles or tables and want to see big images.
...
Nice idea of app
Good job:thumbup:
Sent from my Sony Walkman to yours
Anyone has tried this App?

[Daydream][4.2+]Wakeup Daydream

Hello everybody!
Would you like to use your tablet as a live billboard showing the current time as well as the RSS feed of your choice with large fonts that you could read from across the room ?
It is useful for:
a) Night watch
b) Glance at the screen from across the room when you prepare to leave to work.

One thing the app doesn't try to do is be another application that shows temperature, or integrate with aggregation services.
Features:
You have full control over most of the aspects of the application, here are some of the features:
a) whether to show the hour in bold or not
b) color for hour / minutes and 12/24 hours format
c) color and font size of the headlines
d) fade-in animation for the free version (2 more animations on the PRO version)
e) refresh interval
f) it does not integrate with Google / Facebook etc, you have to type in a valid RSS feed URL.
This uses the Daydream functionality added in Android 4.2 thus will not work if you have an older version of Android.
It does not install an Application icon, you have to go to Settings / Display, activate the Daydream functionality if it is currently disabled, then you will see a new entry - Wakeup Daydream. You can then configure it and set it as default.
I have set the Daydream to start when my tablet is connected to the charger.
Animations are nice to have, but they use a lot of the processor power. Please set the Animation to None if you want to minimize CPU usage.

PS: I have decided to write this app when one morning I had to make a long detour because the park was closed due to bad weather. Had I known this in advance when I left home (it was the first news on the local news website) I would have saved 10-15 minutes of my time. I like to leave my old Huawei tablet on the night stand and use it as a night watch + glance from time to time to it to check the news as I get ready to leave to work.
I hope it will save you some time and keep you more informed

Simple and very useful Atrix app Collection

Salam(Hi) all,
Android is a powerful OS because of its wide variety of apps, games, customizations...etc but sometimes it's hard to find the unique app/function you exactly want without trying tons of apps and digging into deep settings of each app trying to find your workaround.
In this thread I'll be glad to share some of very simple and useful apps that works perfectly on our Atrix 2 :angel:
1. Disable Service "Root"
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
as name suggest it's a tiny app (only 500KB) that can disable running apps services (and even system app services) it's very useful for disabling Google Services (privacy concern) and you can disable specific app service as example the popular music player PowerAMP has 2 services which runs forever "updatewidgetservice" that update widget will be always on even if you don't have the PowerAMP widget on your screen! and "headsetpluggedservice" (service that waits for your headset to be plugged to run a song) it will be always on even if you have disabled the headset option! so you can simply by one click disable them.
Also it works as a monitoring service app, so you can see what's the normal (running apps) option in settings can't show.
Works perfectly in Kitkat.
2. Internet Speed Meter Lite
Another tiny yet powerful app that display a small icon showing real time internet traffic speed plus having a schedule of everyday data usage consumption for both WiFi and 3G/4G traffic.
3. Lock Screen
The Most Important app for our A2 (as the power button in A2 is very soft), it's only 20k and simply add an icon to your home screen that (when pressed) lock the screen instead of pressing the trickle power button.
4. Timed Toggles (Auto Airplane)
The next big thing, Timed Toggles (only 130KB) can save a lot of battery by enabling (Airplane) mode on a set of times as example you can set it to turn on airplane mode at midnight every day, also it provides the same functionality for enabling/disabling WiFi, Bluetooth, vibration, sounds, brightness...etc
5. DroidEdit (free code editor)
A must have code viewer/editor with syntax highlighting for (C, C++, C#, Java, HTML, CSS, Javascript, Python, Ruby, Lua, LaTeX, SQL)!
it provides an excellent on the go code reviewing with the ability for undo/redo,search &replace...etc
More small and useful apps will be added soon and it would be nice to share your app suggestions too :highfive:
Note that all apps are totally Free with No ads,fees,subscription...etc

Did you ever want to enjoy Youtube Videos with screen Off to save your battery?
With Screen Off Keep Playing, now, you can!
_______________________________________________________________
Works very good with Amoled Screens!
Due to Android limits isn't possible to turn off completely the screen but on Amoled Screen Black = No Battery Drain!
On LCD the black screen with the lowest brightness will help a lot to save your battery anyway.
_______________________________________________________________
When you launch "Screen Off Keep Playing" the App will ask for some permission. After that, you can launch the service and the App will wait in background until you decide to run it.
Long press and release the Volume Up Button and the screen will become black, showing the logo for 10 seconds. After that the logo will disappear and the brightness set to the lower value.
Example:
- Start a Youtube playlist, long click on volume up button and the screen will go black while your video is playing! If you need the screen on again just long press the volume up button again!
_______________________________________________________________
Remember: This app works over any other apps, so not only Youtube with screen off but every app!
IMPORTANT: This App works with a key event filter so can't be used with other apps that use the same permission like, for example, any button remap app.
PRO version without ADS and more features will come in the next days!
Well played
Why not use og youtube
http://ogmods.net/home/OGYouTube
Its basicly a stock hacked youtube app that can play content with screen off, in background, popup view, and even downloads the content into mp3 or mpeg formats.
Also has some other cool features like enabling quad hd playback etc...
There are 2 versions, for stock and rooted android.
Before installing make sure to turn off the original youtube app.
Hope this helped
Cheers

Restore Direct Access to Bottom Bar in List View (missing since Android APK v1.9.24)

Hi,
I'm an old user of MX Player app, and I'm in love with it. It's my first media player on all my Android devices.
Recently I installed an Android TV Box for my father's old 2000's TV, which came with its own outdated version of MX Player installed, and I have observed that there is a functionality using the TV remote that does not exist on updated versions of MX Player, although it existed on the factory MX Player version on Android TV Box.
The missing feaure consists of accesing the Bottom Bar (to delete, rename, etc.) directly pressing Left button on the TV Remote, once I've selected any element on the List View (file, folder...). For example, if I have a long list of media files (let's say 100 video files), whenever I wanted to delete one of them I followed these steps:
Old behaviour:
Select video file(s) long pressing Ok Button.
Pressing Left button -> direct access to Bottom Bar.
Press on Delete Button and Confirm.
Recent versions behaviour:
Select video file(s) long pressing Ok Button
Pressing Left Button now doesn't work. Instead, I have to keep going through the whole video List untill the last element.
Once I've reached the end of the list, press Down button again to access Bottom Bar.
Press on Delete Button and Confirm.
I have tracked through the previous APK versions to figure out when this feature disappeared and I have found that the last version with this fast shortcut to Bottom Bar was v1.9.24. Ever since 1.10.X version of MX Player that feature is missing.
I would like you to consider adding back that quick shortcut, which is quite handy to use on a TV, without the need of using mouse or any more advanced remote.
I attach* an example of the remote for the Android TV Box to let you see what kind of remote I am talking about.
Thanks in advance.
