Hello everybody!
Would you like to use your tablet as a live billboard showing the current time as well as the RSS feed of your choice with large fonts that you could read from across the room ?
It is useful for:
a) Night watch
b) Glance at the screen from across the room when you prepare to leave to work.

One thing the app doesn't try to do is be another application that shows temperature, or integrate with aggregation services.
Features:
You have full control over most of the aspects of the application, here are some of the features:
a) whether to show the hour in bold or not
b) color for hour / minutes and 12/24 hours format
c) color and font size of the headlines
d) fade-in animation for the free version (2 more animations on the PRO version)
e) refresh interval
f) it does not integrate with Google / Facebook etc, you have to type in a valid RSS feed URL.
This uses the Daydream functionality added in Android 4.2 thus will not work if you have an older version of Android.
It does not install an Application icon, you have to go to Settings / Display, activate the Daydream functionality if it is currently disabled, then you will see a new entry - Wakeup Daydream. You can then configure it and set it as default.
I have set the Daydream to start when my tablet is connected to the charger.
Animations are nice to have, but they use a lot of the processor power. Please set the Animation to None if you want to minimize CPU usage.

PS: I have decided to write this app when one morning I had to make a long detour because the park was closed due to bad weather. Had I known this in advance when I left home (it was the first news on the local news website) I would have saved 10-15 minutes of my time. I like to leave my old Huawei tablet on the night stand and use it as a night watch + glance from time to time to it to check the news as I get ready to leave to work.
I hope it will save you some time and keep you more informed

I just discovered this app today, and I'm glad I did. It seems to be the only one that quickly and easily syncs with my Google calendar.
One question: if I install the app on two different devices that are linked to the same Google account, and set both apps to sync with my calendar, would I get double entries on my calendar if I have the same show list on both devices?
Suggestions/errors
It would be nice to be able to mark what episodes I have already watched.
The month is wrong. On the details screen for a show it shows 15/0/2012 instead of 15/1/2012.
The dates should be shown in the local date format.
Would be nice on the calendar page to be able to go back in time, to see which shows were missed.
Onthe "On Air" page, the text doesn't always show completely when there are more than 2 lines. However, it's not consistent. Some shows with 2 or 3 lines fully readable, whereas some only have 1 1/2 line??
An option to only search either US or UK shows?
In the filter option, it should be possible to filter based on words within a title. That way you won't have to remember if there is a "The" as the first word.
It's a good start, and it looks nice.

all you need to do is join here : http://live.reperion.com
2. in your client, you should put tracker1.reperion.com (no http://) as server,
and of course, your username and password that you create in step 1.
3. If you are driving, and have power, set the update interval to 15 (is seconds) instead of 60
4. BE PATIENT with first use, it always waits for GPS even IF IT IS on already.
5. Upload photos at max 1600x1200 otherwise crash.(2MP) (meaning 800x600) untll someone figures out where the hell all the resolution options below 5MP have gone, I mean 1280x800, 1600x1200 )
6. To review or view your tracks live , enter your username behind this url :
http://tracker1.reperion.com/vemap.aspx?name= then copy paste it, a working one looks like this

Salam(Hi) all,
Android is a powerful OS because of its wide variety of apps, games, customizations...etc but sometimes it's hard to find the unique app/function you exactly want without trying tons of apps and digging into deep settings of each app trying to find your workaround.
In this thread I'll be glad to share some of very simple and useful apps that works perfectly on our Atrix 2 :angel:
1. Disable Service "Root"
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",

"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
as name suggest it's a tiny app (only 500KB) that can disable running apps services (and even system app services) it's very useful for disabling Google Services (privacy concern) and you can disable specific app service as example the popular music player PowerAMP has 2 services which runs forever "updatewidgetservice" that update widget will be always on even if you don't have the PowerAMP widget on your screen! and "headsetpluggedservice" (service that waits for your headset to be plugged to run a song) it will be always on even if you have disabled the headset option! so you can simply by one click disable them.
Also it works as a monitoring service app, so you can see what's the normal (running apps) option in settings can't show.
Works perfectly in Kitkat.
2. Internet Speed Meter Lite
Another tiny yet powerful app that display a small icon showing real time internet traffic speed plus having a schedule of everyday data usage consumption for both WiFi and 3G/4G traffic.
3. Lock Screen
The Most Important app for our A2 (as the power button in A2 is very soft), it's only 20k and simply add an icon to your home screen that (when pressed) lock the screen instead of pressing the trickle power button.
4. Timed Toggles (Auto Airplane)
The next big thing, Timed Toggles (only 130KB) can save a lot of battery by enabling (Airplane) mode on a set of times as example you can set it to turn on airplane mode at midnight every day, also it provides the same functionality for enabling/disabling WiFi, Bluetooth, vibration, sounds, brightness...etc
5. DroidEdit (free code editor)
A must have code viewer/editor with syntax highlighting for (C, C++, C#, Java, HTML, CSS, Javascript, Python, Ruby, Lua, LaTeX, SQL)!
it provides an excellent on the go code reviewing with the ability for undo/redo,search &replace...etc
More small and useful apps will be added soon and it would be nice to share your app suggestions too :highfive:
Note that all apps are totally Free with No ads,fees,subscription...etc
I was wondering if a interactive watch face would be possible.
I used to own a Tissot T-Touch II which has 6 on screen buttons which operated some options on screen (with the hands or on the digital screen on the bottom part).

I'm thinking about recreating this face (when I finally understand how to do this and with which program because I'm on a Linux machine...) but like to know if this is possible or not.
In the following video you can see how it operates.
There are some options to add the ability to open specific apps to specific spots on the watch faces. I'm using Gear Watch Designer (Windows and iOS based). I'm afraid I don't know if it will function on a Linux box.
I found the file online, made some of my own edits to it to fit my ideas and I honestly don't remember where I found it so I can't give the creator credit for the work (I'll look for it in a bit)
Edit - I found a couple decent images of the Tissot T-Touch II and the Titanium. I'm going to play with it a bit and see what I can come up with
I found this face : https://plus.google.com/104704492398430829346/posts/JxbDEaAxmVX
It comes close to my watch.
Remarks:
The outer ring is alreade on the S3 itself, the first display should be the ring with the text.
The colors are from another version
Now to find out how to set the actions (complications?)
You can use some watchmaker faces

Where can I get this watchface ?
found for watchmaker a long time. do not remember the initial source. Certainly on a G+ post for Wear watch.
Just playing with my hard drive I found my old Tissot WatchMaker watchface.
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1qXVmRKvVbVuSucFEXLH8lEpS6epmJz19
Press center to show/hide center display and "3" and 9" to scrool from different screen weather, stopwatch....
Press center LCD display to change display color.
How do I transfer this file onto the watch ?
thanks
Click the 3 dots (upper right) and select "import" and select the directory on your phone where you copied the faces file.
Hi,
I've just purchased an android phone (Note 8) and had a question about google maps travel widgets. In IOS there was a handy widget which gave current travel times to home/work based on traffic conditions. It looked like the below. I'm having trouble locating something similar for Android though. Since it's a google product surely it exists ?

Hi,
I'm looking for that too
Google Now the assistant on your device. Most call it Hey Google, or Google Assistant. In your app drawer open the Google app, then at the bottom it says More. This opens a profile looking page and in the list select Customize and here you can set many custom things based on your preferences including Commute. It will show you Travel time updates, Updates on traffic incidents, Travel times to get home, Travel info for getting to work, Travel times to places you visit and Nearby public transit stops. Then a list of preferences. It works pretty well. I don't know how it knows when there are accidents but it will tell you that, including the expected delay times. One word of caution though, if you change your navigation preferences in Google Maps, for example I often choose to turn on Avoid Highways because the fastest way is not always the most fun or interesting way, and your commute uses interstates it will show you routes and times that don't include the interstate until you turn this option off. So for a few days my normally 35 minute drive showed nearly an hour until it occurred to me that my last navigation was one where I had chosen to avoid highways. I'm assuming the same is true for Avoid Toll Roads and Avoid Ferries.
So that's the Google app>More>Customize>Commute.
You'll get updates in your notifications, it won't actually show as a widget. Sorry I understood what you wanted but didn't notice that you wanted it in a widget form. On a side note you can ask Google to display your Commute time by saying Hey Google or Ok Google and asking for your commute time.
