I was thinking of getting a Note 10, but i have a Ultrawide monitor (2560 x1440 max) that i want to make sure can get the whole screen filled without needing to have the screen streteched out, can the Note 10 reach a Ultrawide screen resolution completely?
Also do the apps still freeze on Note 10 Dex when you touch the phone screen like the do on the Note 8?
you can -you need AFAIK to switch the resolution under the screen setting in the phone

Hi guys just a question my gf has the iphone 11 Pro max and I have the note 10 plus but when watching hdr content the iphone gets a lot brighter then my note 10.
I've tried playing around with the settings and have high performance selected just the iphone gets brighter during youtube playback and just seems a bit brighter in general
Weird thing is when I go into youtube and select full screen it goes a little brighter when I go back to normal size screen just for a split second ?
Thanks
Hi fellas,
Still getting used to this new Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S I got about a month ago, and I'd like to install one of the Always-On Display apps you can find for free on the Play Store (with or without ads, I don't care).
Problem is, none of them actually works. Don't get me wrong, I know the device comes with an LCD display, and AOD is usually associated with AMOLED displays, but on my previous phone (a Leagoo T5c running Android 7.0), install was a breeze, and though battery life took a direct hit when the AOD app was running, it did work, i.e. show a clock and date on a dimmed screen.
Not so on the Xiaomi, for reasons I can't quite figure out. I've granted the apps all the necessary permissions, and for a while I thought the battery saving mode was interfering with the AOD, but even with battery saving mode off, the apps still don't kick in when the screen goes dark.
I'm a bit baffled, and slightly miffed, I must say, because though I know Android 10 brings a lot of new features compared to Android 7, those apps are deemed compatible with my device on the Play Store, so they ***should*** work.
Why don't they?
Here are the two apps I've tried so far: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.github.domi04151309.alwayson&hl=en_US&gl=US and https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tomer.alwayson
Maybe MIUI blocks apps like these to avoid issues (MIUI can, sometimes, be a pain in the a** to get stuff working)
I want to screen cast my phone to my tv because my tv doesn't have the discovery plus app.
I can cast my phone no problem but there are black bars on both sides of the picture on the tv. I'm assuming this may be because of a resolution or aspect ratio mismatch between my phone and my tv.
It's there a way to cast to my tv where the image fills the entire screen?
My device is a OnePlus 7 pro
Disable Overscan on your TV box.
change your tv aspect ratio to wide mode or zoom mode whatever you call that thing
The oneplus 7 pro is 19.5 x 9 I'm "casting" using the "Screen Cast" icon in the notification tray. miracast or bubbleunp (not sure which tbh, its an LG tv).
Changing the aspect ratio on the tv doesnt work. I need a phone based solution. I need to be able to just send a 16x9 signal.
When I watch 16x9 content on my phone, there are black bars on the left and right because my phone resolution is 19.5x9 and so im projecting that to a 16x9 screen, its literally casting my whole screen.
@jwoegerbauer I have no such option when casting video from my phone. It's stuck at 16x9
So, I like to shoot cinematic videos with a smartphone.
I have four different apps that I use for this (Filmic Pro, ProShot, ProTake and mcpro24fps).
All four of these apps work just fine on a Xiaomi Note 9 phone.
The problem is that the apps cannot lock the exposure in manual mode when I install them on my Realme 5 Pro.
Even if both ISO and Shutter Speed are manually locked by me at my desired values, the exposure still shifts and compensates when I pan the camera from dark to light areas. This renders my shots completely useless.
The interesting part is that if I switch to Auto mode on any of these apps, and then lock the exposure reticle while in Auto, I no longer get shifting exposure. However in Auto mode I am not able to set my Shutter Speed and ISO to the desired values and I must rely on whatever values the app in use automatically chooses for me. This ruins the cinematic look of my shots.
In brief: there must be a setting in Realme 5 Pro's firmware that does not allow the apps to set manual lock on ISO, Shutter Speed and on Exposure in general.
What could that faulty setting be?
Do I have to root my phone in order to correct things somehow? I don't know nothing about root access etc...
Or should I just sit and pray that a future firmware update would solve this issue?
I think I found out what is causing the problem. It is called "dynamic tone mapping" and iPhone users have the same issue with film making apps because of it.
Is there any way to turn the dynamic tone mapping function on Realme 5 Pro off when shooting and encoding videos?
Hello, I recently discovered the SetEdit app. I didn't use it yet because I'm trying to understand how it works first, what permission needs and what values can be added/modified and which can't.
Seeing some videos and reading the few things I could find about it online I started wondering if it was possible to add to this phone the option to lower the refresh rate when displaying a static image like most phones with high refresh rate displays can.
I know the Edge 30 Pro switches to 48Hz while viewing the AOD. So ideally I would set it to lower the refresh rate to 48Hz when viewing static content and pick back up once I touch the display.
Do you know if there's a line I could add that might make it work? Do I need to do any further modifications to the phone to modify the "system table"?
I'm still on Android 12 on the device and it's mostly an AOSP ROM with some additions, nothing too crazy.
I would've post this on the main forum for the phone, but it's pretty much dead and, for now, it's basically just me constantly posting about the issues with the Android 13 update I gather from other parts of the internet.
Thanks!
Have you tried the Galaxy MaxHz app? Although it's mainly designed for Samsung phones, it also works on the 30 Pro. You can adjust it so that the screen refreshes as low as 48hz when you're not using it. Worst part is that you have to pay for premium go have everything enabled, but it's less than 2 bucks and it's completely worth it imo. It works on Android 13, too.
