Hi guys just a question my gf has the iphone 11 Pro max and I have the note 10 plus but when watching hdr content the iphone gets a lot brighter then my note 10.
I've tried playing around with the settings and have high performance selected just the iphone gets brighter during youtube playback and just seems a bit brighter in general
Weird thing is when I go into youtube and select full screen it goes a little brighter when I go back to normal size screen just for a split second ?
Thanks

hi folks,
I just got an n8010 and I like it alot. only thing thats bothering me is the display brightness during video playback. for normal use its fine and I set it to about 4o%, but for video playback even when set max brightness its still not bright enough. have tried all the usual players. is there a video player that can increase brightness? or a different rom that gives higher maximum brightess? I also have an acer aspire one 725 netbook, and its screen brightness is much better for video playback.
thanks,
gary.
I have the same issue.

its weird. the tablet is capable of being uber bright, yet for video not bright enough. its a shme, its the only thing I dont like about this tablet. thinking of trying a tf700t instead.
Have you made sure that power saving mode is off? It limits screen brightness, and I would guess it tries to do this especially if you are doing something that keeps the screen on for a long time, like watching a video. Also, you should check under the display settings, since there is a setting that tries to optimize the colors for different use cases. It's called screen mode. play with those settings a bit and see if your experience improves any. Finally, make sure auto brightness is off, and then you can manually put the brightness all the way up using the slider in the status bar.
Hope I helped you.
Tried all the options. It has an outdoor mode which is brighter but seems to really wash out the color. Max brightness is a good start as auto bright is never enough to watch something in thus tablet. I'm hoping to find a way to increase the brightness even more tho.

Try using MX Player and slide your finger up at the left edge of the screen while playing. This player's screen brightness is independent to system brightness, and on my device its max brightness seems even brighter.
I was thinking of getting a Note 10, but i have a Ultrawide monitor (2560 x1440 max) that i want to make sure can get the whole screen filled without needing to have the screen streteched out, can the Note 10 reach a Ultrawide screen resolution completely?
Also do the apps still freeze on Note 10 Dex when you touch the phone screen like the do on the Note 8?
you can -you need AFAIK to switch the resolution under the screen setting in the phone
Hello to everyone, new user of the Xperia 5ii and I have two problems
1)Has anyone observed a slightly change in the colour of the screen between 60 and 120hz? It's very obvious if you have dark mode and sit in a dark room. When you toggle the selection on and off, you can easily see it
2)I was trying to upload an Instagram story and the quality drops significantly. You literally can distinguish pixels. It's only on Instagram, on Facebook there was no problem. Also I tried to upload the photos from another device, and the same problem exists.
Any help is most welcome

This is true and if being honest, quite expected. It most noticable when the screen brightness is somewhere 5-20%. You can clearly see it when toggling the 60 or 120hz. The panel itself is great, many oled defects are gone or very minimal. This green tint issue is quite common on other 120hz panels too (mostly Samsung made). That might also be one reason why the new Iphone 12 phones don't have 120hz, too much quality problems.
So yes, there is a green tint. But luckily it is very minor and only on certain screen brightness. Haven't noticed it when actually using the phone.
Not sure if this count as a defect to get a replacement (the replacement would probably have the same issue).
Attached few photos I took.
I have the same issue in low-brightness and 120Hz activated
My note 20 ultra has vague gray horizontal lines when displaying a gray background at the lowest brightness when running at 120Hz but it disappears at when the brightness increases or when switching to 60hz. Is this normal for AMOLED displays ?
I tried doing it on my unit but everything seems fine. Can you send a photo so we can see what it looks like?
It's prominently visible in a dark room
This is when it's running at 120hz
Same here
They all have it. It's the 120hz mode banding.

Same here have u sorted out this issue!?
I'm having the same trouble with my Samsung S20 Ultra as well. Mine wasn't even dropped or had put pressure on the screen for it to be physically damaged. I did, however, noticed the lines appear after an August security patch update was installed so I'm waiting to see if a new system update would fix the annoying lines. Other than that, the phone's performance (battery and processor wise) doesn't seem to have changed.
Hello, I recently discovered the SetEdit app. I didn't use it yet because I'm trying to understand how it works first, what permission needs and what values can be added/modified and which can't.
Seeing some videos and reading the few things I could find about it online I started wondering if it was possible to add to this phone the option to lower the refresh rate when displaying a static image like most phones with high refresh rate displays can.
I know the Edge 30 Pro switches to 48Hz while viewing the AOD. So ideally I would set it to lower the refresh rate to 48Hz when viewing static content and pick back up once I touch the display.
Do you know if there's a line I could add that might make it work? Do I need to do any further modifications to the phone to modify the "system table"?
I'm still on Android 12 on the device and it's mostly an AOSP ROM with some additions, nothing too crazy.
I would've post this on the main forum for the phone, but it's pretty much dead and, for now, it's basically just me constantly posting about the issues with the Android 13 update I gather from other parts of the internet.
Thanks!
Have you tried the Galaxy MaxHz app? Although it's mainly designed for Samsung phones, it also works on the 30 Pro. You can adjust it so that the screen refreshes as low as 48hz when you're not using it. Worst part is that you have to pay for premium go have everything enabled, but it's less than 2 bucks and it's completely worth it imo. It works on Android 13, too.
