:: Cubot Quest { get rid off annoying red watermark "not verify" } :: - Android General

Morning all... after spending almost a whole day to solve a very annoying issue to my Cubot Quest smartphone I decided to write here a short procedure hoping to save headaches in future
When flashing from SP_Flash_Tool can happen that after formatting all partitions and installing/upgrading a new firmware both IMEI are lost and when you reboot the device you have a very annoying red watermark that sounds: not verify
so the only way to get rid off that red line/watermark is to reflash imei + correspondant google key
ATTENTION: this method works and was tested only for Cubot Quest
so let's hope to save someone from future headache:
0. turn off device and do NOT plug
1. download (and unzip) latest stock firmware/rom from cubot website: https://www.cubot.net/platform/Support/detail/id/129/cid/16.html
2. download (and unzip) latest SN Write Tool: https://androidmtk.com/download-sn-write-tool (look at the bottom of the page)
3. launch SN_Writer.exe (from SN Write Tool decompressed folder)
4. go to "Key Files" in the program menu >> Attestation Key >> Attestation Key & browse in the decompressed ROM folder looking for file: a798_cq_8123c_62_p0_0_100000_S1220.bin >> OK
5. go to "system config" , ensure that on left is checked just "IMEI" and at the bottom "Dual IMEI" (do NOT check other options)
6. at the bottom in Database section check "Load Modem DB from DUT"
7. always at the bottom in AP_DB look for file in the ROM folder: APDB_MT6765_S01__W1925 (pay attention do NOT choose APDB_MT6765_S01__W1925_ENUM)
8. save
9. click Start & give correct/correspondant IMEI1 and IMEI2 (they are printed in the device's box, but if you have lost the box I think could work also a fake imei)
10. plug the device and flashing will start in few seconds, wait and if all goes as should be a green pass warning should appear in the program
11. turn on the device and the red watermark should be vanished
anyway with correspondant/correct files the same procedure should work for almost all Cubot devices with the same issue, both files (point 4 & 7) are in the rom folder
ps: do not "play" with SN Write Tool... you can brick the device
Regards,
Davide

Hello,
I have the not write Googlekey/not write TEE watermark on top of the screen, the device is a Blackview Max 1. It happened after unbricking it , flashed the stock rom with flashtool.
What's the bin file I should look for?
I saw a method replacing systemui apk in priv-app folder but it corrupts my system ui, no nav bar and no top pulldown notification bar. So I don't know what to do, I have even rooted it patching the boot file.
Let me know for more advice, I will try your posted method. Thanks

honestly I dunno...
but you don't have many .bin files and the dimension isn't big... about 10k, should be easy to identify it

Hey,
Thanks for the help, I have a Cubot QUEST too, I followed your steps and recovered my IMEI from the box however i still have the red NOT VERIFY text, the IMEI is recovered so im not sure what is left to do.
Any suggestion?

Hi!
It works for the Ulefone Armor X6.
Although I had to flash the Stock-ROM V1 before I succeeded.
After that I managed to get rid of the message.

This method helped me. I can recommend for everyone, if you have root accces of course.
Sadly, what you described here are not worked for me, because every time when I did that, it failed. But it's a good try.

Here's another possible fix if you have magisk with zygisk support! It has to do with dynamically turning the ro.mtk_tee_check_support build prop to 0. More here https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/not-verify.3870242/post-87713751.

Same like my doogee android, after flash, i just want red mark on top screen gone, but i like dont have imei because this phone from another country if i have imei this phone not work

STEP 1 : BACKUP
BEFORE MAKE ANYTHING — IMPORTANT– BACKUP YOUR IMEI NUMBER WITH MTK NVRAM TOOL. YOU CAN ALSO DOWNLOAD IT IN Links other than Needrom:
WHEN INSTALLING THIS ROM YOU LOSE YOUR IMEI NUMBER SO YOU MUST DO THIS: YOU NEED TO HAVE ROOT ON YOUR PHONE AND A RECOVERY INSTALLED LIKE TWRP 2.7
If you come from 4.2.9 Stock Rom you can root it with FRAMAROOT 1.93 –> Then install TWRP 2.7 in mobile unclemtktools with recovery update
PUT MTK NVRAM TOOL.zip into sdcard
ENTER TWRP RECOVERY :
Power off the phone, then do the following:
– Power button + volume button up, to enter the recovery mode.
INSTALL MTK NVRAM TOOL.ZIP FROM SDCARD withouth any wipe. This is a fantastic AROMA TOOL, so you only need to backup your NVRAM, then exit and return to recovery.
ATTENTION: MOBILEUNCLETOOLS DOESN'T RESTORE IMEI IN ANDROID 4.4 SO YOU HAVE TO RESTORE IT ONLY WITH MTK NVRAM TOOL
STEP 2 : INSTALL AOSP ROM
IN TWRP perform a full WIPE –> WIPE–> ADVANCED WIPE–> SELECT
– Dalvik Cache
– Cache
– Data
Return to recovery main interface and Install zip from sdcard:
- Select your ROM FILE.ZIP –> It will launch my installation procedure
- At the end, don't reboot, INSTALL ZIP FROM SD CARD –> MTK NVRAM TOOL.ZIP –> This will launch AROMA –> Restore your NVRAM/IMEI previously saved on your sdcard –> EXIT –> REBOOT SYSTEM
All done, Enjoy your new KitK4tAOSP ROM!! PATIENCE, THE FIRST BOOT IS ABOUT 5 MINUTES.
================================== ATTENTION!!! ==================================
I invite everyone to make a nandroid backup. Only if you have done the backup and you are able to restore the device then you can write me relatively few bugs in the rom or any other problem.
So ATTENTION! … You did not do a Nandroid backup? … You are not able to restore the device? … Well, do not write to me, because I will not answer to you!!
================================== ATTENTION!!! ==================================

Permanent mtk brick?

Device: Acer Iconia A1-810
While flashing stock rom for my tablet something went wrong and i believe that it's bricked permanently.
It's recognized by the pc (win 10 with correct vcom drivers installed) but the connection lasts like 2 seconds then drops and reconnects continuosly, so i can't flash anything if it doesn't stay connected.
Spft gives me this error

I searched A LOT in every forum and i tried finding the method to start flashing in meta mode with no luck, same with test points.
The only thing I found is this dead thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/help/acer-iconia-a1-810-scatter-file-t2837481/ where Calingo says that he solved the problem, but the links he provided are down
Can someone please help me?

Maybe the USB cord is bad, try a new one or maybe you have to charge it. I've had the same problem with a Galaxy tablet because the battery was severely damaged.

Tried with 4 different usb chords, and i'm sure that the battery is charged at least at 80%
Finally Found the solution, I had to use a specific version of spft https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8TNs6i3CYoxSkxYdW96SmZtb3c/edit?pli=1
and the method is this, originally posted by Calingo:

Download flashtool here: click, unpack and launch it.
Press "File" → "Open Scatter-loading file..." and choose scatter from firmware folder.
Now press "Window" → "Write Memory". One more tab will appear, open it.
Press "Open Raw data" and choose "secuoff.img" file from firmware folder.
Choose an EMMC Memory setting
Start Address: 0x3D80000
Copy value from "File Size (bytes)" to "Container Length"
Press "Write Memory", connect your turned-off tablet to PC. Progress bar will fill with red, then with gray-green, then you will see a green circle. Disconnect your tablet.
Go to Download tab, press "Download" and connect your turned-off tablet again. Progress bar will fill with red, (probably) then with purple, then with yellow, (probably) then with gray-green. After this you will see a green circle. Disconnect your A1-810 from PC and put it on charging for 10 minutes.

Nubia M2 Emergency Tool 1.1.4 {unbrick tool}

The program is in Chinese.
Earlier English versions do not see this phone.

Everything you do at your own risk :
- install the program. Although in Chinese, nothing complicated should arise
- the program will offer to install qualcomm drivers
- run the program
- turn off the phone connect to USB
- click on the phone and hold all three buttons. The phone will turn on
- the phone connected to the computer will appear at the top and buttons will be active
- for backup press the leftmost arrow with the up arrow
- for unbricking press the middle icon
- for restore press the right icon
- for backup select the folder where the backup will merge
- will count down to 100% and the slider from the phone to the side of the computer
- exit the program.
The program asks something, but it's also clear where to click.
In the folder will be backup hardware parameters around 60kb.
This tool works only with these devices

You don't have to unzip it. It will unzip by it self only when you unbrick (middle icon)

what does the service area include(what kind of files are these) ?? i want to backup the Nvram files of my phone
It can be done with twrp but want to make a backup before installing anything and before altering or changing things on teh phone first
i did find a progarm on the russian forum that is called QPST.2.7.460 and seem rather complicated
maybe will i need this program to make a full backup?? 60 kb is clearly not a copy of the full system
Thanks for this thread.

QPST does NOT do what you have in mind.
I can understand the need for every precaution but adb commands are relatively safe and rarely cause issues. Once you have pushed a TWRP image in, you're pretty much in the 'safe' zone. Also this Nubia tool seems to have the capacity to push a working recovery in and unbrick the phone.
This program creates a file called nv.qcn with a size of 417kb (It's compressed, that's why we see 60kb).
Nvram

My main question is not answered, does the files of this emergency tools contain the Nvram files of the phone when making a backup?
Yes
Snapdragon use qcn files not nvram.
Just make a backup and save it to a safe location.
Thanks.
* When the phone is bricked, the tool seems to have the ability to flash the stock recovery into the recovery partition.
* Once this is achieved, you can download an Update.zip and use it with the update function of the stock recovery to bring the phone back to life.
* If errors like invalid IMEI, no IMEI etc. comes up, you can use the tool to restore these parameters back.
* The Chinese forums say that the version number of Update.zip has to match the version number of the ROM you had when you took the backup.
* So, the best time to take a backup is before you do anything (keep an update.zip of your original ROM with you).

Forget the listed devices. Have you TRIED to use the tool. If the tool can detect the device and if the name is displayed correctly, then you have a chance. Also try different versions.

This "click on the phone" came out of Google translate. The original instructions were in a different language. Don't worry about it.
Can the tool detect your phone (the buttons get activated in recovery mode)? It doesn't matter if the phone is restarting.
If so you can use one of the other 2 buttons (easily detect which) to upload a recovery image. Once this is done, boot into the stock recovery and do the rest.

https://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=828565
It describes how to do it if update from sd-card and update over usb fully works.
In this post, however, I will describe how to cope when both options do not work (the system does not recognize UPDATE.APP or update over usb does not work, or - after updating- tablet still continues to bootloop).
Ok, let`s start. Warning!!! It will be difficult and cost of money :/
Needed tools:
ADB & FASTBOOT
Additional drivers
DC-Phoenix(PAID!!) https://files.dc-unlocker.com/share.html?v=share/A5ABD248BD6D4FDBABDED15CE5046E64 or Huawei-Update-MultiLoader-Tool (FREE!!! )https://easy-firmware.com/index.php?a=downloads&b=file&id=3850
EF-tools from Easy Firmware to login into site.
Pendrive with at least 4GB freespace and OTG USB cable or SD-CARD.
We gonna also need board software(paid) And full software assined to our device. Thank`s good`s not all is paid
This software - among other things - allows updating via SD-CARD and OTG cable. Unfortunately, it's Chinese.
Uff!!!
How to flash Board Software with DC-PHOENIX?
First: battery at least 70% charged (for safety), but it would be best if it was 100%.
Download and install firmware and drivers for you device.
Buy a credits for DC-Phoenix, witch allow you to doing flash.
Download board software from Easy-Firmware site
Turn phone into fastboot/bootloader mode (powerdown device with long-pressed power key, push VOL- button and connect tablet to PC).
Open DC-Phoenix.
After opening u will see a login window.

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Enter the username and password, then log in to the server.
After login, u will see window with information, where u can get a tutorial to flash.
Regardless of what you press (yes or no), the program will guide you to main window.
On the right side u may choose update file and customisation file (usually main update file is in root of "dload" folder, and customisation file is in folder inside dload, but in case of "board software" the path-to-file ,after unpacking will be look something like that ~\KOB-L09C500B007\KOB-L09C500B007_降级包 ). In "Update firmware" tab we have two options: standard and advanced. Choose first one, and next in field "Update file" navigate to downloaded board software UPDATE.APP file. File will be loaded, and program will show you list of partitions to flash. Then press update button and wait for process to be end.
Tablet will be flashed with board software and reboot.
It may take a while to start. Do not turn off your tablet under any circumstances. This can result in a hard-to-repair software damage (hardbrick) what can result in the need to return the device to a specialist service. !!!
Well, we've received a tablet with the basic version of Android installed, with several test applications.
We do not need them.
How to flash Board Software with Huawei-Update-MultiLoader-Tool
Download Huawei-Update-MultiLoader-Tool.
Unpack and open it.
Select an UPDATE.APP file.
In next box select Android-Phone-Multi-Upgrade-Config-PCUI.xml file.
Click "Next", and wait until files will be loaded.
You will see another window.
Press together VOL+ and VOL-, then plug your USB cable and connetc device to PC.
Program will recognize device, else click "Scan" button in top of window.
Wait
Prepairng SD-CARD or USB drive
Copy the "dload" folder from the software appropriate for your device to the usb disk or sd-card. Then connect it with an OTG cable to the tablet or plug sd-card to device. Press and hold the power vol up and vol down buttons. The software update screen will appear, and update will start. When finished, the device will restart and you should enjoy "rescued" equipment. Another way is to boot in installed "Board" system, and select "SD upgrade" icon.
Unfortunately, I can not provide board software files because of the ownership rights.
It took me some time to find a way to repair it, so if u want to buy me a beer, that is my account number:

Not Verify

My Phone (Cubot Power, Android 8.1) always shows a red text in the top right corner of the screen saying "Not Veify".
It shows this message since I reinstalled my stock rom with the SP Flash tool.
If anyone knows a way to get rid of this message let me know.

Hi. Did you found solution for this problem? I have this same in cubot nova.
It's an interesting problem.
The most interesting part is that when you click few times on this "not verify", but only while you are configurating phone after fabric settings-phone is connecting with internet and downloading qr codes scaner, like this verification is about scanning code.
"Not Verify" Message
Hello Sir,
i've found a solution to your problem:
so Here's the step you should follow...
Step1 : install gravity box, that depends on your android version [Pie, Oreo, Marshmallow, Kitkat etc.]
Step2: install "Xposed installer" & enable gravity box in modules then reboot your phone.
Warning: this will brick your phone if you don't root your phone them properly ( you can use "Root Checker").
Step3: after you reboot your phone, open gravity box and then go to "Advance Tuning" & enable "Master Switch" then reboot your phone again.
Step4: Open gravity box again, Go to: "Advance tuning", "Frame work" and find "Config_add_tee_watermark_state"
press the "Override" option and then check the "Overridden value" that will turn the watermark off ("Not Verify") to False
Step5: Reboot your phone again....
"Congratulations, your phone is now working as normal"

Got solved this after experiencing with my Cherry Mobile Flare S7 just this February 2021.
Assuming you have all this:
Firmware
SP Flash
HxD (HexEditor)
Step #1. Get the system.img from the firmware, make your backup first.
Step #2. Load it to HxD
Step #3. Press A to highlight All then Control F to Find, [check ] Case sensitive, Search direction (All), Type "Not Verify"
Step #4. Click Search All
Step #5. Edit like on the next pictures
Step #6. Save
Step #7. Replace your original file with one you modified
Step #8. Load it up with your SP Flash
Step #9. Uncheck all except the system.img.
Step #10. Flash and Done
Hey folks, none of the above worked for me on blackview BV8800, however, since my device was rooted with magiks with zygisk support. I was able to use this module https://github.com/Magisk-Modules-Repo/MagiskHidePropsConf, as it gives the ability to change props.
After enabling it in magisk, and rebooting. I fired up termux, in it, I entered su, to become superuser, and then used its own command: props as such:
Code:
props ro.mtk_tee_check_support 0
It asked me when I would like that to be applied, I said option 4, at both boot stages. And then rebooted and now it's gone!
