AOD Won't Stay On - OPPO Find X2 Pro Questions & Answers

Hiya [emoji4]
Has anyone else noticed that the Always On Display doesn't stay on like it should?
I've got mine set to be on from around 7am till 10pm but after around 20 mins if inactivity during those times, the AOD turns itself off.
Cheers

How odd! Kind of pointless calling it an always on display if it's not always on [emoji23]
Is it actually described anywhere as being a feature? Or has it just not been declared a bug yet?
Sort of feels like it's doze kicking in and the AOD framework needs to be excluded by it

It's all good. Plenty of things about this phone that I find a little strange. Would be nice to have the power saving feature as an option.

I agree! Largely though its a great phone! I've had many, many phones, flagships, mid range and budget. I find the Oppo with the latest Color OS to be a surprisingly solid and well rounded phone even though it does have some quirks [emoji4] hoping the majority will be ironed out over time with updates

How do you go about submitting bug reports? I don't see a way of doing so within the settings app etc.
Wouldn't mind sending a few over [emoji4] the only other issues I really have are issues accessing secondary characters from the keyboard when trying to access them from characters which are on the curved part of the phone (guessing it's palm rejection being a bit too sensitive), and the proximity sensor is a bit iffy during calls.

Bizarre. Mine doesn't stay on whilst charging, mind you I have it turned off/disabled in Developer Options (option for 'Keep Screen On While Charging').

To submit a bug report you need to go here.... https://community.coloros.com/forum.php and create an account. Then go to the "Feedback" tab and you can submit a bug report or suggestion there. They'll probably want a log capture from the phone too. You can access the diagnostic menu by dialing *#800# then "Ok" then select "User". Detailed instructions here.... https://community.coloros.com/thread-42556-1-1.html
Steps to capture a valid Log file.
Step 1:Dial“ *#800#” in the dialer and press “OK”in the popup Warning and press “User”in the popup.
Step2:Select the type of Log.“Default” is for commonbug and others are for the corresponding bug.
Step3:Turn on “Screen Recording” and press “OK” in the popup warning. Click“Start Logging”and reproduce the issue, click “StopLogging” when finish capturing and fill in the details of the issue.
Step 4 : Upload the log file toColorOS Community(less than 50 MB file),or to Google Drive (more than 50 MB file), and share the link when you post the feedback. (Log file is in the following path: File Manager > PhoneStorage > oppo_log > newly debugfolder)

Interesting. ? Perhaps I'll check that out. I haven't enabled developer options on the phone yet, but wouldn't have thought you'd have to disable something that shouldn't be enabled by default. Not having the phone screen turn off when it times out while charging is a real issue that could lead to burn-in IMO. Your average user wouldn't necessarily know about "Developer Options".
Edit... Enabled developer options and it's not enabled so I must have a bug on my device. ?

[Q] Sensitivity, tap instead of swipe

Hi guys, i really like the phone but I have one major problem with it. Sometimes the screen randomly thinks my finger is tapping instead of swiping.. So when scrolling through a list, it doesn't scroll through the list, but rather taps the links. I compared it with my M8 and its definitely a huge difference

sweet advice from you.
I would really recommend to look at oneplus forum.....very interesting reading
Just to sum up, the customer support in OnePlus is nearly non-existend.
I have seen the reports that someone with RMA ticket number 98 (can you imagine, just in first hundred) does not have any reply from them already 3 weeks.
God im seriously thinking about keeping my M8...
I am also experiencing the tap instead of swipe bug. Its a bit annoying. I love the potential of this phone and hope that Cyanogen will get all the kinks fixed. Maybe that's one of the real reasons for the official release not taking place.

Are you by any chance having the issue when not holding the phone in your hand? There seems to be some sort of grounding problem(?) when the phone is on e.g. a pillow which did not exist before the update pushed in the beginning of july. Apparantely CM is working on fixing it again.

I really hope they do rectify these issues. Cause I'm kind of regretting selling my Nexus 5. I mean this hardware is superb and I love the feel of the sandstone back. The software is just not ready for the masses.

I am looking at the forums. And: for me, the support responded to my questions within 24h in 3 of 4 cases. That's my personal experience.
I think you should try it. If this does not work: give your request an update. Or two. Or three. And then, if all that doesn't work, either: make pressure on the public forums. THEN you can/should be upset.

Yes it's common, i have this issue as well. I think it happens when the phone stutters/lag, the swipe turns to a tap. My solution is to flash fast, lag-free ROMs, reducing the incidents. You should try jgcaap Lag-free CM13 ROM and see if it gets better, it worked for me.
Thank you very much for your advice, I'm testing this rom, and doing very well not have lag or loses touch for now.

Screen activates self in the trousers

Hi,
yesterday I was on racetrack Nürburgring and tried my new OnePlus One.
Everything was cool except one thing.
Most time, when I took the OPO out of my trousers, the screen was on and an app was open?
Is there a setting for that, that this never happens? Don't want to share battery lifetime to my pockets and don't want to place calls to the whole world.
Is anyone having same problems or could someone help me?
Settings/Interface/Gesture Shortcuts, disable everything.
Transmitted via Bacon
You forgot display -> double tap to wake
It is scheduled to be fixed by OTA-update xnph28s; before unlocking the proximity sensor checks if the device is currently in a pocket.
See bugreport: https://jira.cyanogenmod.org/browse/BACON-16
Good to see, d4fseeker.
Do you know, when this update is ready for download?
Don't want to disable the Oppo features on opo
They say the update should be released in the next week or two.

Typically when its ready, it was posted a week ago in 2 weeks time but no promises as they want to get it right in this OTA.
If you can't wait, you can flash custom ROMs as they already have this commit where it checks the proximity sensor. If the proximity sensor is blocked then gestures will be disabled until the proximity sensor is not blocked.

This is CM inc's chance to show what they can do.
You know they have a One Plus as a test phone but they let it go out with low call volume and sub par signal strength. As well as touch screen problems and more. Just look at the bug reports. There no hiding them.
Software makes the phone work so to me that is what I have to look at.
All in all its a great phone I just expect more from CM inc.

To be fair the phone is still in its infancy stages and is invite only. So in a way you can say we paid for the phone to be "internal beta testers" and when the phone is not invite only thats when its out for the masses.
I agree with you though, these major problems should have been addressed in a hotfix rather than having users wait for the next OTA. Luckily for the most of us, we're able to fix it in our own hands but for those who aren't then they'll just have to wait.

Where I CAN help you is with your real problem. See, I also got an used Pixel with rattling vibration. So just go thru all the settings on the phone and anywhere you see it - disable it or turn it off. This means haptic feedback, keyboard settings, ringtone settings etc. You can't disable it all at once, you just gotta go one by one. It's a 3 minute walk, you can do it.

No fingerprint gesture?!

Oneplus 6 got rid of the swipe down for notifications gesture. Is there any way we can get it back? Maybe like the flashable zip the 5t had in omnirom? This may seem like such a small thing but it's huge for me. With this gesture I dont have to reach up to get my notifications down and thats a lot less of a chance for having the phone drop and break on me. Especially because it's all glass now.

Well, the phone hasn't practically even released at this time, so it will take a bit of time to know.
I think the reason why there are no fingerprint gestures is because of the reduction in the size of the fingerprint sensor.

Quite upset about the removal of this feature as well. It was really useful. I'll be looking out for it / monitoring this thread to see if anyone has a solution. Wish OnePlus would simply add it back.

I find this works well when you set it up for tap to toggle notification tray and enable foreground services under the non-exposed settings.
Any more updates on this? It's quite annoying they've not included that feature

Double tap to wake often does not work reliably.

Especially when phone has been idling for a bit (10+ minutes). I have pocket mode off. Quite frustrating.
Agreed, coming from the V30, it is not very reliable, it misses quite a few double taps for me as well =( if they only had kept the always on display, that would probably help. Removing this feature was very silly from OP, they should at least leave a switch and let the user decide...
My gf has been complaining a lot about this to me too, however I've yet to have it miss any double taps.
Hopefully its software and not hardware related.
Its definitely more of a double... triple... quadruple tap most of the time for me. Its as if when in a deeper sleep state it doesn't respond to double tap.
I sent a bug report to oneplus. I hope other people do the same!

I have noticed this as well. It usually doesn't work the first time. It has been a bit better with pocket mode off though.
It's really random. Sometimes after my phone idles for 8 hours overnight, double tap will work flawlessly. Sometimes, after just 3 minutes, I will need like 4 double taps.
No one solution yet?
I've noticed as well. Very random. Have to use fingerprint or power button. Kinda pathetic feature functionality.
I confirm this...
Even my old 4 years Oppo Find 7 is much better...
Really strange that OP haven't solved this yet
Settings/battery/ 3dots at top right/ advanced optimization / turn them off. That solved the problem for me.
They told me they have fixed it (that was with Android 8) and it was better. But now and Android 9 it's worse than ever. My wife's OP5 works perfectly.
