speaker not working after battery swelled. - Honor 6X Questions & Answers

so I had problem with the battery swelling in my honor6x and basically the whole phone was pushed apart. and been like it for more then a year, and then the loud speaker stopped working. so decided to replace the battery myself and it went smoothly but speaker still wasnt working. so checked the ribbon cables and connections and cant see anything wrong.
ordered replacement loudspeaker assembly and replaced that and still no audio.
so couple things...
maybe flex cable got stretched too much from battery.
the charge assembly might be internally damaged or upper main board internal damage.....
everything else works great. I checked the headphone and audio works with it. and detects when unplugged and plugged in.
the microphone and the vib motor works great....

[Q] Rear speaker no longer working

So I've been using the Nexus S for a while now(about 3 months). And the other day, after I plugged in the headphones to listen to music, the external speaker stopped working after I unplugged them.
It worked intermittently afterwards but then stopped all together.
I was wondering if anyone else experienced this same issue and if there is a fix for it other than sending my phone back to Samsung for a repair.
I think it's got to be a short in the headphone jack or something sticking since it was intermittent. That's the only thing I can think of since it hasn't been dropped at all.
Any help or a link to the rear speaker module part so I can do a direct replacement would be great.
Thanks in advance folks!
Have you tried plugging the headphones back in, then out again? This used to happen to my laptop, however since you said the speaker was intermittent I'm also thinking it may be a completely different issue.

This happened to mine and i found out it was some rubbish stuck in the earphone plug so maybe try somehow cleaning it out ,,, if not then maybe its faulty somewhere.
Mine happened the same. It started hearing the speaker's sound very rare and then it stopped working.... But then I blow into the speaker and the sound came back....
Yeah at this point after cleaning the headphone jack, and even tried blowing into the speaker I'm lust looking to replace the speaker part. No just the ribbon with the front speaker as well, but I am specifically looking for a replacement part for the speaker enclosure unit. So if anyone has any idea where i would pick it up, let me know or shoot me a link to it.
Thanks for the advice folks!

[Q] Speaker replacement

Hi all just wondering if anyone here has replaced the internal speakers on their TF? Yesterday I right speaker just died, if I kind of twist it sound comes back for a sec then off again. So I opened this thing up to see how hard it is to replace it. 20 minutes later everything open and do indeed find dead speaker. Does anyone know of where to buy the speakers? Will the speakers from their netbooks work? I personally don't RMA anything so I actually would like to fix it myself. If anyone wants to know how to do it I can help. Thanks
after the last update my speaker also died
Plz How did you replaced your speaker ????
Well I havent replaced it yet. I guess what I'll do is order speakers from the asus netbooks. I'll ley you know how it works out.
I pulled my speakers, unplugged from circuit board and removed from TF.
I found, ordered some replacement plugs and used 30awg to make a few replacement wiring harnesses. It seems the original speaker wire is thinner than 30awg - in my opinion.
I got two different sizes of replacement speakers to test. I have not even tested the originals with my new ($50 scope awg, another story) audio wave generator since removing the speakers.
I was planning to complete my speaker tests and mod the next time I opened my tablet. But, I am not sure when it will happen.

Nexus 5 repair gone wrong?

So I bought a second hand Nexus 5 with a defective spekaer (the one for making calls) and microphone. I wanted to fix it so I bought replacement parts from Aliexpress (the earpiece speaker and the charging flex cable since that is what the microphone is connected to). When I had repleced them the screen wouldn't turn on anymore.. It stayed black no matter what I did. I noticed there was some backlight though.. I noticed some things:
1. It vibrated when I turned it on.
2. It gave a low battery notification sound when it was finished booting.
3. My computer plays the sound like it detects something when I connect it but nothing appears in explorer or device manager.
I tried putting the old flex cable in but that didn't work..
What could I try?
Look carefully at the connections on the motherboard and the connecting cables to see if there are any damaged parts.

Nope I checked that
Look in the attachement to see how everything is connected..
Maybe something happened when you were changing the flex cable as that seems to be the only explanation since the screen doesn't work with the original and replacement part.

What could be damaged then?
First thing that comes into my mind is that you did not/forgot to connect the LCD flex cable or the lcd cable is broken or the lcd is broken.
The backlight and the lcd display should be two separate things, 1 might work but the other might not.
You can try tapping on the screen to see if anything happens to it or try to call your phone and see if you can pick up the call.
Also, did it work before you change the cables? are you sure the microphone and speaker are the only thing broken in the phone?

I will try that. I just plugged it into my pc to charge it and it detected it and showed it in the device manager. This is without the plates over the PCB's, I don't know if that matters..
Yeah I tested it before I took it apart and it worked fine except for the speaker and microphone.
The cable leading from the motherboard to the LCD is in the upper right hand corner of the phone, near the headphone jack.

Speaker not working (after replacing the speaker as well)

Hi,
I replaced my Nexus 5 battery after it was showing signs of age, and now battery life is good.
However, after changing my battery, I have noticed that the speaker is not working anymore. Thinking that I might have damaged it during battery replacement, I got a new one off eBay. Sadly enough, I replaced the speaker with a new one and the issue still persists.
Earpiece works 100% and headphones work 100%
So I was wondering what to look for; any pointers?
Thanks
When you say "phone speaker works", you mean the earpiece speaker at the top of the phone?
Is it possible the USB flex cable was damaged?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/help/to-buy-usb-charging-port-flex-cable-t3314357
Yes. I mean earpiece, I am sorry.
The USB Flex Cable was also replaced; this was due to getting a static screen on my phone. As far as I know, the flex cable is responsible for charging and such but not for audio. I might be wrong.
Edit: The Flex cable was replaced around 5 months ago, not now. I re-assembled the cable to make sure, but to no avail.
I replaced half the parts in this bloody thing!
Regards
Mine had the same behaviour, is the flex female on the mainboard that connects between mainboard and speaker, check how to fix audio at youtube.
If u press somewhere behind ur camera u get sound?

Call microphone doesn't work after battery replacement

Call microphone doesn't work after battery replacement.
After i replaced battery on my friends honor 8, everything works except microphone for calls, secondary microphone does work. I opened phone again and found a little damage on right side flex cable under battery, i guess i damaged it during old battery removal process. Is right side flex cable connecting microphone with motherboard? I found some replacements on ebay and i just want to be sure it's the right part to change. Thanks in advance.
