Call microphone doesn't work after battery replacement - Honor 8 Questions & Answers

Call microphone doesn't work after battery replacement.
After i replaced battery on my friends honor 8, everything works except microphone for calls, secondary microphone does work. I opened phone again and found a little damage on right side flex cable under battery, i guess i damaged it during old battery removal process. Is right side flex cable connecting microphone with motherboard? I found some replacements on ebay and i just want to be sure it's the right part to change. Thanks in advance.

No mic after digitizer change

I changed the digitizer on my phone and now I don't have the microphone working.
Other side can't hear me, voice recorder and voice search does not pick up anything.
Camcorder works fine and record with sound, but that I guess is separate microphone.
I searched but could not seen anyone with the same problem.
Should I just change the whole ribbon cable or there is something else I want to look at?
Thanks

Have you tried a different ROM?

its very easy to tear the flex cable containing the microphone when doing this repair. When you removed the motherboard, on the left side there were two gates, the one on top being a little larger than the one below.
this lower one is your microphone. trace it and see if you notice any rips. if not make sure the connection is solid.
let me know what you find

I was very gentle when removing flex cables. Can't See Any damage on flex, but as you say it might be very easy to cut cable when doing repair.
Will try and flash couple of roms so hopefully have Microphone back, but I doubt it very much.
This whole flex unit together with buttons strip is quite cheap. Will probably buy it and try to chage it.
Chance Rom Did not help
I've done the same thing. Those mics are incredibly sensitive. Even of you dont see a tear, pressure on the cable can damage it. You can score a replacement for about $8 on eBay. Just make sure you buy American. You don't want to wait weeks to save 2 bucks. The vibration motor is another ***** on that phone.

Are you sure the ribbon cable is in all the way? I had that problem. It goes in a little, then it goes in more...

Cable goes all the way in.all lights and buttons are working fine.I think that the socket that cable goes in is damaged.
funny thing I tried recording on voice recorder and picks up if I shout or tap the Mic loud.
on playback I can barely hear but definitely Mic picks up .
Hi, today it appears that my microphone broke.
I use it regularly to dictate short messages, so I know it has been working consistently on a daily basis.
I am on Albinoman's 4.2.2 and I am certain it is no a rom issue.
I had my headphones plugged in today: I wonder if I somehow damaged the jack? I plugged in an headset (hence, with mic) and I hear the sound, but the mic is still dead (sound recorder would not move).
What is the story about replacing a digitizer? Did you do it because your mic did not work?
And in the end, were you able to fix it?
Thanks.

Nexus 5 repair gone wrong?

So I bought a second hand Nexus 5 with a defective spekaer (the one for making calls) and microphone. I wanted to fix it so I bought replacement parts from Aliexpress (the earpiece speaker and the charging flex cable since that is what the microphone is connected to). When I had repleced them the screen wouldn't turn on anymore.. It stayed black no matter what I did. I noticed there was some backlight though.. I noticed some things:
1. It vibrated when I turned it on.
2. It gave a low battery notification sound when it was finished booting.
3. My computer plays the sound like it detects something when I connect it but nothing appears in explorer or device manager.
I tried putting the old flex cable in but that didn't work..
What could I try?
Look carefully at the connections on the motherboard and the connecting cables to see if there are any damaged parts.

Nope I checked that
Look in the attachement to see how everything is connected..
Maybe something happened when you were changing the flex cable as that seems to be the only explanation since the screen doesn't work with the original and replacement part.

What could be damaged then?
First thing that comes into my mind is that you did not/forgot to connect the LCD flex cable or the lcd cable is broken or the lcd is broken.
The backlight and the lcd display should be two separate things, 1 might work but the other might not.
You can try tapping on the screen to see if anything happens to it or try to call your phone and see if you can pick up the call.
Also, did it work before you change the cables? are you sure the microphone and speaker are the only thing broken in the phone?

I will try that. I just plugged it into my pc to charge it and it detected it and showed it in the device manager. This is without the plates over the PCB's, I don't know if that matters..
Yeah I tested it before I took it apart and it worked fine except for the speaker and microphone.
The cable leading from the motherboard to the LCD is in the upper right hand corner of the phone, near the headphone jack.

Speaker not working (after replacing the speaker as well)

Hi,
I replaced my Nexus 5 battery after it was showing signs of age, and now battery life is good.
However, after changing my battery, I have noticed that the speaker is not working anymore. Thinking that I might have damaged it during battery replacement, I got a new one off eBay. Sadly enough, I replaced the speaker with a new one and the issue still persists.
Earpiece works 100% and headphones work 100%
So I was wondering what to look for; any pointers?
Thanks
When you say "phone speaker works", you mean the earpiece speaker at the top of the phone?
Is it possible the USB flex cable was damaged?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/help/to-buy-usb-charging-port-flex-cable-t3314357
Yes. I mean earpiece, I am sorry.
The USB Flex Cable was also replaced; this was due to getting a static screen on my phone. As far as I know, the flex cable is responsible for charging and such but not for audio. I might be wrong.
Edit: The Flex cable was replaced around 5 months ago, not now. I re-assembled the cable to make sure, but to no avail.
I replaced half the parts in this bloody thing!
Regards
Mine had the same behaviour, is the flex female on the mainboard that connects between mainboard and speaker, check how to fix audio at youtube.
If u press somewhere behind ur camera u get sound?

Bad Service Signal after replacing Charging Port

As per the title I am getting a much diminished signal after changing the charging port to a new one.
The worst is when I grip it in my hand which would naturally be at the bottom - where the charging port is.
I only get LTE when I'm outdoors and indoors it's either H+ but usually H, E, or even NO SIGNAL.
I can't figure out what could be the problem. There are 2 antenna inside the unit that connect to the charging port but these are bluetooth and wifi. It doesn't appear to be an antenna for the network signal. Or is the frame part of the network antenna? I see some electronics in the frame when I dismantled and I don't know what that is for or how it connects to the mobo. I'm thinking if the frame works as an antenna maybe it's not connecting to the mobo properly.
Just to clarify I was having no signal problems before I dismantled the unit and in fact it was working exactly the same as my previous phone.
I actually don't know if the charging port part has anything to do with the signal antenna.
Any comments appreciated.
Hello,
I'm experiencing the same problems with my SM-G920F. After replacing the charging port the bottom mic isn't working anymore. I'm forced to call on speakerphone to get the sound to the other end of the line. The repair centre who fixed the phone said it could be because of a little off-point alignment when soldering the usb pin on the pcb. They also said that they experienced the same problems on different repairs for the S6.
Any thoughts?

Please start you own thread on your issue. It has nothing to do with this thread. Mod please remove this post.
I think I know what happened. When I took off the back cover plate it was glued to what looked like a Printed Circuit Board antenna and it was yanked by myself. Anyone know where I can get these type of things to buy and repair ?

speaker not working after battery swelled.

so I had problem with the battery swelling in my honor6x and basically the whole phone was pushed apart. and been like it for more then a year, and then the loud speaker stopped working. so decided to replace the battery myself and it went smoothly but speaker still wasnt working. so checked the ribbon cables and connections and cant see anything wrong.
ordered replacement loudspeaker assembly and replaced that and still no audio.
so couple things...
maybe flex cable got stretched too much from battery.
the charge assembly might be internally damaged or upper main board internal damage.....
everything else works great. I checked the headphone and audio works with it. and detects when unplugged and plugged in.
the microphone and the vib motor works great....
