When I am on WiFi both 2.4 or 5 G, my data line gets cut off automatically.!!!
Is this normal? Or have I unknowingly set up my phone as such?
Am using oneplus 7pro.

The normal version OnePlus 7 Pro
does not have 5G
Only the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G version
has 5G
P.S.
Which OnePlus 7 Pro phone version do you have?

My op7P is the non 5G phone.
By 5G I referred to the dual band WiFi.
That's normal. Why would you want data to be enabled while using WiFi? Except when you want faster network switch but more battery drain. You can force enable it in developer options to keep data on while connected to wifi. It's called "mobile data always active"

Is there a WiFi sharing option with the OnePlus 7? Where you can share your WiFi connection with other devices rather than your mobile internet? Almost like a WiFi extender.
Thanks

I wonder the same.
I've come from the Xiaomi Mi 9 and by default you could be connected to WiFi and enabling hotspot it would remain connected and share that connection.
With the OnePlus 7 Pro so far, so the above disconnects the WiFi connection and shares only the mobile data.
I'd be keen to see if there's a workaround here!
Yeah, I discovered this is missing from the OP7. The Pixel 3 does it even though it's not mentioned anywhere.
Pixel 3 only, not the earlier versions. Mate 20 Pro. All the more recent galaxies up to the S7 I believe. It's nice to not have to give out my wifi password to everyone that comes to visit. Also nice when you're in a hotel that limits you to one device per room. I hope it becomes an OS standard eventually.
I think we only have the usual, where you create a WiFi hotspot everyone else connects to your device and shares your LTE connection?
They have added wife sharing support from oxygenos 12 now for oneplus devices. Working fine for me now on OP7 PRO
Hi. Im in uk and have f2 pro 5g. I have in settings set prefer network to 5g. 5g is not available where i am at all. My problem is my mobile data (working fine with lots of other phones so not signal related) sometimes just stops working.
I have set to prefer to 4g and still the same. I have updated my apn settings ( not much to change) and done factory reset. I have looked on the dial *#*#4636#*#* and i have phone info 1 and phone info 2. I go to set network type and have a list. Whenever i chose one after reboot it changes back to unknown. (Please see pics)
Any ideas???
Thanks guys.
Hello mate, phenomenally I've just received the phone yesterday. Beautiful phone. However I've come to notice the same issue. Changing over prefer lte or 5g does nothing. The only real fix is switching off data and switching it back on. Never had this issue with all my previous phones, including realme, oneplus and Huawei. It's most probably a software fault. But it's making me want to return it.
Im noticing the following, switching WiFi off when outside doesn't cause the issue but need further testing to confirm.
I read about that bug but I can not confirm it. If you turn on 5G you can only use 1 sim card but 5G is anyways almost useles on this device (only N77/N78)
3 uk is on N78

Agree, I live in Puerto Rico and it doesn't even have T-Mobiles band 66 LTE. Incredible that a phone powered by a SD 865 lack of all of these. Software updates are super bad, I haven't got 1 single update and 5G on this phone is useless.
Is anyone using WiFi calling?
I have tried in the house as my cellular network is not full bars.
I have to say it sounds very distorted and crackling.

I use it all the time, I live basically 20 metres from the woods, and I have no cellular service at my home, I have no issues with it, Have you tried switching the mobile data off and then give it ago?

Hi,
I'm using p40 pro + and Vodafone in Delhi. I'm. Not getting option for WiFi calling. But in my jio which is in sim 2 I have that. Any idea why specifically in Vodafone it isn't coming?
Prior to this I was using S21 Ultra, in that WiFi calling was working as charm for voda.
WiFi calling feature depends on the phone model. Probably P40 Pro + is not currently supported by Vodafone in your country.

Hi, I am using the ELS-NX9 model of the Huawei P40 Pro. I don't see wifi calling feature any where in the phone.
how do you enable the wifi call? maybe you are using a different model?
Just got the OnePlus 8 5G for "Sprint".
I took the June security patch update and my cellular data has been garbage. See attached photos.
I can't be the only one experiencing this, right?
I've contacted Sprint and Tmo.
They had me reset all my connections (wifi, bluetooth, cellular) and they refreshed their end.
Still crap.
Any ideas?
Welcome to 5g with TMO. Also the new modem is garbage too to begin with. You could always flash the previous version modem or turn off 5g altogether.
So I'm trying to reply on the Gcam thread for OnePlus 8 and it keeps telling me "Post creation failed"
Why?

I actually got 120 something down peak and avg of 60 after the update. But, still, I was consistently getting 120+ on lte on my 7t. It's like when tmo sees a 5g phone on their network, they reduce lte speeds. But the new software is a definite improvement unless it's related to the additional 2.5 ghz 5g band
edit: The latency and ping is still terrible though . I should have just kept my 7t
Hey all,
Stupid question alert. Right now, my phone switches between WiFi and 5G, depending on which is better. How do I turn that off and just use WiFi in Android 10?

I've never heard of that, do you leave you mobile data turned on the whole day or it automatically turns itself on?
Can you tell us what's your phone please?

It's the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G on ATT. It's only been somewhat recent (over the last month or so), and mobile data is on. Can i turn it off, and still get calls and texts and stuff?
